    MIS is a fairly broad degree and teaches you specialized skills that employers are dying for. Best combo of business and technology. I would also like to add various business degrees are increasingly loosing value. The technology aspect of MIS is really helpful.

      Business administration, finance, marketing, hr, and economics to name a few are certainly on the way of loosing value. I’ve seen it pretty well in my college and many people. They often have to get additional minors/certifications and/or go to grad school to get hired.

    Hi there, this video is great! I'm one year from my bachelor's in Finance and I've been looking into a master's for MIS. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to go straight into the master's because my computer and tech experience is pretty basic. I'm hoping it's slightly more business focused than it is programming focused.

    Great video!
    Please can I ask, so if I become a MIS Major, I won't have time to do anything else other than work? E.g: Vacation, Gaming, Family, etc... since they have huge work loads? And are there any MIS jobs that allow you to work from home?

    • @ElevateToTheUnknown
      @ElevateToTheUnknown  3 роки тому +9

      Hi Venator just about all IT jobs now have remote work options so you can basically work from anywhere. This is what covid has shown the world. Secondly, the number of hours you work should fall inline with the average full time job. It's up to you how much you work above and beyond 40 hours. I have plenty of time for my family and work 60 hours on average a week.

    Thanks for the helpful vid as this is a major I'm quite interested in 🙏. One question tho, how hard would the computer side of this will it be? I never took computer science class ever and so is it still possible to go in with no knowledge whatsoever? Im still doing my A levels right now and the subject I took are math, statistics, business and econ

    • @ElevateToTheUnknown

      The computer side is learnable. You'll learn everything you need to learn in class and outside of it. Research the curriculum and start exploring the concepts. Have no fear.

    • @ElevateToTheUnknown
      @ElevateToTheUnknown  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Ashley, you would have to check with your school to determine if you could double major. I don't see why not as the core business courses should overlap. The other option is to minor in MIS or Minor in CS.

      @@ElevateToTheUnknown Thank you for your response. What do you think about going after an MIS Masters Degree after having an International Business Bachelors Degree and working some time in Marketing before. The college tuition is really low in Germany, however when finishing my Masters I would be already 32 years old. The reason is, that I live in Germany, here we don't have many B2C companies and therefore marketing is not that well paid and you often have to work for Agencies. Therefore I am thinking about either going for MIS to learn more marketable skills and future proof my carreer other options I would have is going after a Business Administration Degree or a Marketing Degree.
