      You should go...since P-A-P is a mess Okap is beautiful and a true bastion for Haitian culture...then you can take the message back to Jamaica...Okap is also the birth place of black independence lots of history there...I met some wonderful Jamaicans my last time in Haiti who lived there working for Digicel, they loved it just as we love Jamaica too...One love

    WOWWW when I tell you I am shocked...SHOCKED to see this side of Haiti!! I just watched Indigo Traveler's YT video on Haiti(most dangerous country in the world) and was shocked to see so much chaos, violence, turmoil and government corruption. He never showed this beautiful, orderly & peaceful side of the country 😳. As an American his documentary had me thinking the ENTIRE country was hell on earth. I don't know what part/side of Haiti this is, but I'm so so so happy to see this 👏🏽👏🏽🥰

    • @ruttyb
      @ruttyb  Рік тому +5

      Funny thing is, he stayed in the same area this video was filmed in. He purposely drove into the “slums” for content. & that “most dangerous country in the world” title is clickbait. Just Google & you’ll see there are countries far more dangerous. Countries at war, etc. He used one article & ran with it. So sad. Haiti has 10 departments & the West Department is the one with the issues. & even though it has issues, it also depends on the specific area. I live in the West Department btw.

      Thanks for watching! We just have to remember that there are 10 departments & the West is the main issue. Funny thing is…I live in the West😂. But it’s a pretty large department that has different realities.

    • @ruttyb

      It really depends on where you live. I like living in the West because it fits my lifestyle. I have everything I used to have in the States. But it’s super expensive. It’s hard to find a nice modern apartment for under $1000 USD per month. Everything imported is 2/3 times the price.
      But if you live in one of the other departments, then you would have a different experience. I can’t group the entire country together, because every department is different. So it depends on where you want to move.

    Damn they got Chic Fil A sauce in Haiti? Okay so I just need the insecurity fixed and I'm good to move back

      Why Haitians need Chick-fil-a sauce for. I don’t get it. Everything I saw in this Market is imported , that’s why the Haitian economy is on her knees because everything is from outside. This is crazy 😜

      @@annecelestin8534 Thx our local non black bourgeois for that. A lot of Rich families there make money from imported goods instead of investing in their own economy. The mulattos/white/Arab elites is one of the many prob haiti is facing.

      @@annecelestin8534 why is it crazy though? PV is an area with lots of expats, people who travel & have experienced certain foods. If you lived in the US & really like certain food, wouldn’t you want a place that sell those food items? It’s not a requirement to shop at that market. People who aren’t interested in imported goods can shop at the street markets or the smaller markets that only have local products.

      @@ruttyb because we need to promote Haitian culture ( food, drink, clothing etc) , for example I just watched your video about the artisanal conference, I scammed some pictures because I would like to buy some of those items. To be honest with you I’m not going use chick-fill-A sauce in Haiti 🇭🇹, even in the states I don’t use them only my daughter did. I’m proud of you for showing the beauty of Haiti 🇭🇹, but Sis on this one nope.

      @@ruttyb I know PV very well, my house is located in Canapé-Vert . I gave birth to my children in Community Haitian‘s hospital 🏥 and I used to shop there too because it’s closer to home than downtown Port-au-Prince. Good luck my dear, stay safe.

    Your target audience would be larger if your videos were in Creole (your mother tongue). You could have subtitles in English. I understand you've been living in an English-speaking country for 21 years but you speak Creole. The Haitian community in France would be happy to to watch your videos in Creole.

      Subtitles take a very long time. I’ve done a few videos with subtitles and it takes a few days to translate, proofread, and then add them to the video at the correct spot. It’s a long process. I appreciate the fact that Haitians in other countries want to watch, but there are far more people in the world who speak English & that is my target audience.
      I will continue to add subtitles in some of my videos, but that is not something that I can do for all video.
