I know this has a bit beefier specs and has overall heavier materials, but it’s almost just worth buying the D class and getting an extra battery to have pretty close performance that weighs 30 pounds less than the grizzly. I like mine because it's 27" full sized bike, much more roomy than the little one in the video although that one is fast and really cool looking. If it came in a larger size that would be great.
Great review guys! One improvement would be rear view mirror(s). A lot of riders never develop a 'mirror habit' which could save their lives, push come to shove!
Exactly. My first e-bike got stolen with 60 dollar phone holder and 50 dollar mirrors. My new one I don’t feel safe at all without my mirrors. That’ll definitely be my next investment. They really do save lives. Something that simple.
Helluva good Presentation & Review. I just ordered two of these. One ☝️ for me & one for my beautiful wife. Thank you. Live What You Love With An Attitude Of Gratitude. 🍻
So what's the price of the Grizzly? I'd like to have one for the upcoming camping season. There some ridgelines up here in NE Nebraska that will be fun to take an ebike like the Grizzly on.
The bike is pretty cool for sure, dual 1000 watt motors and dual batteries is probably overkill for most , and the penalty is the 100+ lbs. Also looks really cramped especially for a taller rider. I have a Sondors Madmods Scrambler on order, not as powerful but looks like it will be more comfortable and the 24 inch wheels will probably give it a better ride over rough terrain.
I actually was one of the first to order a mad mods but they extended the delay to August now. I ended up canceling last month and ordered an ONYX RCR. Check that one out, has an interesting design and great power.
@@MrRailfan How do you like the Onyx? What kind of range do you get and have you ever had a hill that was just too much for the bike to make it? Also any issues with the bike in general and if so how was support?
@@s2000navynitrous best bike I've ever had. Although I wish I got the onyx first, I'm happy that I learned a bit of handling skills on the juiced hyperscrambler 2 before upgrading to the onyx rcr. I got it in September and I've got about 2000 miles on it already. No issues at all besides a squeaky front brake which is apparently a known issue with other riders. The bike is much heavier than any ebike I've owned and takes a little bit to get used to. By mile 100 I was confident to ride in normal mode. By mile 1000 I was comfortable riding in sport mode. Eco mode tops out at 20 mph normal at around 35ish and sport at around 55. I've honestly had to do no maintenance besides a clean wipe every once in a while. It doesn't come with mirrors so I added those and added a front saddle bag for some repair tools if something comes up. Range wise depends on riding conditions like if you're in traffic, in city traffic or on bike paths. In city traffic with constant stop and goes, in normal mode and some sport mode I get a comfortable 40 miles. You can push it to 60 miles in normal mode if you go easy on the acceleration. I've done a 85 mile trip in a mix of eco and normal, no pedaling. Eco only you can easily go 80 to 100 miles, but it's too fun to lay on the throttle so it's a hard range to achieve 😂. The bike handles like a motorcycle or moped, the pedals are just like footrests. It's very hard to pedal this bike without power. I only managed to go about 2 miles pedaling only and that's with a background of doing century rides on my road bike. If you change the crank arms and crank, you can pedal this. This thing has so much power it'll combat any hill easily and do it at 50 mph. Overall 9/10 would buy again. Nothing else comes close if you want a bike to commute or just cruise around.
Wish it was a little taller. I don't understand why these companies that have the moped style bikes don't consider the taller people. That seat looks very comfy, but a simple "optional seat elevation" would be smart, so the legs don't stay bent. Other than that, it's perfect. Unfortunately, my only reason for not buying this is the WAAAY too low seat.
Seems like a wonderful model. I'd be afraid to drive this here in CA as crime is so bad someone would probably knock me off to steal it or take it while it's locked somewhere. Most folks know its over $3K
@@freshlycharged C-milk and SerpentZA can do it. You can do it too. It would be really neat if you did a trip using 90% of the battery capacity. Great review. Love the Grizzly. Liked and subbed. Could be my next bike. Just got a Hey Bike Mars. My 1st Ebike. Really like the Grizzly. You have a beautiful place to ride. Where is it at? Thanks again for the video
Pretty much the do anything, go anywhere bike, and I really like Ariel Rider's quality and design. I've been on rides with several of them, and they always do well. On a recent ride we hit the sand dunes, and out of 12 bikes, only 3 could handle the deep loose sand: A custom built mountain bike (2000 watts?), the Ariel Rider Grizzly, and a RadMini. All the other ones either didn't have the traction, or didn't have enough power. I was impressed with your 0 to 20mph times, but then I realized you were pedaling. Did you record throttle-only acceleration times?
lol ebike, and for 3300 You can get a top of the line bosch powered ebike that would make a 100x better commuter. Turbo mode gives 300 percent boost per pedal.
Did you buy the insurance (Route Package Protection $89) when you bought yours? It covers loss, damage or stolen product during shipment. I would think they would send you one if you didn't get it. I hear they only cover $100 if you don't get the added protection.
The problem with cables is not just looks (it looks bad), it is when you load/unload or store it, they get caught on things and really piss you off, and even get damaged. Looks like the old honda 50
I have a DR650 as well! But trust me man, that little e-bike on rugged trails? It would beat you to death! Lol. Plus it would probably break if you tried the same stuff a DR650 is capable of. I ride my DR650 on a lot of extremely gnarly trails in Colorado and it's like riding a Cadillac on that rough stuff (so to speak anyway). I don't mind the weight until I have to turn around in a tight spot or get stuck in a bad place. Then it's a bear to deal with. But it's all worth it because with the DR650 you can leave the trails at the end of the day and ride a hundred miles on the highway at 70mph to get home. I do this all the time.
I have a Grizzly and the Juiced HyperScorpion. The Grizzly goes about 37 mph and the HyperScorpion about 32 mph. When I ride with family and friends their bikes go about 20 mph, given that they cost $1,000 to $1,500. Going uphills is what really sets the Grizzly apart from my HyperScorpion. The two motors make a difference when going uphill.
Looks great! It looks like the rear rack is on the short side, do you think there is a good way to add a set of panniers or bags to the rack? Thanks for the great review
i feel sorry for you if 2k w is the most your have experienced. That is precisely why I tell people to stop buying over priced pre-built junk. Buy a BBSHD with the 3k W Ludicrous controller and slap that on the frame of your choice. The motor is still stamped as 750W (highest legal on US roads) but can hit 3k watt output when programmed for max power. My custom cruiser (see profile pic) not only looks better than 99% of ebikes out there, but can also hit 50MPH with an 8 spd Sturmey IGH and 52v battery, but cost less than nearly every piece of junk pre built I have seen. Mine cost $2k to build, but can be done for $1500ish with less features (ie mine has motorcycle alarm system, frnt/rear 4k cams, turn signals, headlight, horn, music system, etc).
I am looking for a good e-bike for ripping through trails, climbing mounts and taking camping but one thing important is that the bike is also good for a tall person as I am 6'2, is this one good for a tall person?
ua-cam.com/video/OKNcFJ9TOT8/v-deo.html im 6'3 it does good on trails i don't like the tires and if you want to pedal it comfortably i'd suggest upgrading the seat to a taller one from JBSeats we did a video on it as well
I am 6'2" and have a 31-inch inseam. The stock seat is too low, and your legs will be cramped while pedaling. Knees in the chest kinda thing. Ariel Rider does not provide any way to raise the seat. I purchased a custom seat from Saul's Upholstery (many videos on UA-cam) and you can customize how many inches you want your seat. My custom seat is 5 inches tall vs 2 inches on the stock seat. With leather and all the other options, my seat cost $350. The pedal position is perfect now, as I have a longer pedal stroke. The seat is super comfortable. However, on my Juiced HyperScorpion it only cost $65 for a bracket that raised the seat about 2.5 inches. I have had the HyperScporpion for over 2 years with no problems. I have had the Grizzly for 4 months. After 3 months the bike failed and after a month of exchanging emails I still don't know what is wrong with my Grizzly.
@@Cannaburg Thanks. That's what I thought. I think these cafe E-bikes are more intended to be electric scooters rather than E-bikes in the traditional sense of the word. So proper seat height for pedaling really doesn't factor in with these bikes.
@@skaybaltimore ehhh. They are meant to be peddled but with the option not to... I will say this is probably the best ebike out there regardless of style... whether it's a 26in tire with a mtb frame or Cafe style looking bike... this beats literally anything on the market regardless
Thanks for the info. How well would a rider around 210lbs going up a very steep hill on a Grizzly do? My area has steep hills everywhere and wasn’t sure how well this bike would climb without pedal assist
The air pressure should be about half your weight. Me 240 lbs thus 120 pound of air. At 240 lbs. I am constantly bottoming out the shocks. I have cranked on the preload and that helps a bit, but it makes is much stiffer and I still bottom out. The shocks are 10 inches in length and that is a rare size. Upgrading to an 11 inch shock is what I have seen other people do in the comments and there is one video about that.
Love the video. How does this hold up in the rain? I live in Seattle and am wondering about riding in the rain consistently as a commuter bike. Thoughts?
It can be ridden in the rain. Just don't go in heavy downpours. I think it's rated at the ipx 65 or whatever it's called lol... basically it can get splashed just don't put it through a power washer... also cover the screen with a plastic bag for added protection
its not a sealed motor or battery. You will ruin this in a heavy downpour. You can get a completely sealed bosch powered bike for this bike. Unless what you want is a throttle and a scooter.
Hello Rusty Roads! Very informative video as always! I wanted to ask you what class type of e-bike is the X-class 52V and the Grizzly ? I really want to get one but I doubt you can ride it legally in the state of california since it has 1000W (unlike the 48V which only has 750W). It would be really helpful if you could answer this grey area of the law for me 😭🙂. Love your content!
Just get hold of some 750W labels and stick them on top of the 1000W labels. Or remove them. I put panniers on the back of mine so the main battery pack is obscured. otherwise, the 750W and 1000W versions look pretty much the same.
It’s totally a class 3 and moped level. Class 2 is a throttle that can go max 20mph without pedal assistance. Then there’s the 750watt power limit. 2 batteries are fine. But they are 1000 Class 3 is max 28mph without pedaling. Both can still do bike lanes on eco mode. But CA bike paths are 15mph assisted which rules any of these out unless you’re pedaling a dead battery.
Dod you say that when it is fully unlocked on speed, that you can still limit the speed for each pedal assist level? Id wanna be able to also ride 20mph or so if i wanted in certain areas without having to try to limit the speed barely twisting the throttle? Thanks
I live right around the corner from where I work and I would use this as a daily transportation to and from work and only have to charge it like once every 2 days maybe so that would be pretty cool and it would make it totally worth the price.
I dual motored my 20 inch CSC for about 700 dollars less then this.I can go 3 to 5 days easily on it.I also have a 1000 front hub throttle only and it has its own 48v 20 ah battery and can maintain 34 mph by itself and has 25 mile range throttle only.
Great videos guys! I always look forward to your new reviews! U guys keep it interesting and informative!! Does it come with 2 batteries? If so that’s a good deal! $3k! Same price as the vsett 11. But 2 removable batteries ? Sweet
Thanks for the kind words! It has two removable batteries. Both individual feels, but both a ton of fun! It's hard to say what I would choose. It would depend on my mood. The Grizzly is going to be safer. Where the VSETT 11+ will be riding a scooter built like a tank. The VSETT 11+ will be faster.
It's got a ton of punch for an eBike. Here's a link to a video where we do a speed test showing the acceleration. ua-cam.com/video/4U7L3yzxcqM/v-deo.html
thank you for the reply, im waiting for my dual motor Eunorau fatbike which is on indiegogo now. It comes with dual bafang rm g060 750w motors and was wondering if Ariel is using same motor or actual 1kw hub motor
It's for someone who doesn't want to pedal a stupid bicycle everywhere! Lol.. I have an e-bike, and it's not because I want to be a bicyclist. It's just good, cheap, reliable transportation around town. Gets you to the store, to work and back, and to the park and bike trails on the weekend, with little to no effort, and it's very inexpensive to operate and maintain compared to a motorcycle or a car.

Right on! Let us know how it goes!
@@MrRailfan that's a great review and pretty much have me sold.
The seat height really doesn't adjust like a regular ass bike? I thought that was a basic feature.
How do you adjust the seat? Looks like they made this for single height human. What is the height?
Until you mentioned the cables , I hardly noticed them. The look is the first thing I noticed too.
Great video guys. Love your reviews. Great channel.
Thanks so much!
Would it be comfortable and reachable for someone 5' 7' 170 lbs? Also how much and how tall are you guys? Great review.
Seems like a wonderful model. I'd be afraid to drive this here in CA as crime is so bad someone would probably knock me off to steal it or take it while it's locked somewhere. Most folks know its over $3K
Nice video guys!
Those tires really should have thicker rubber treads . Tires are too thin.
Why don't you guys do a long distance trip series with your e-bikes. Would be fun to watch.
Love this idea! The hard part: Andrew and I need to get time off work and permission from our wives!
@@freshlycharged C-milk and SerpentZA can do it. You can do it too. It would be really neat if you did a trip using 90% of the battery capacity. I would like to hear about the horror of the trail you are riding on, or about the bike you are riding, or you can rant about politics if you want. I agree with the OP, it would be fun to watch.
Great video, which state was this filmed in?
Wow what a great bike and what a great location! Where you filmed?
I Love the Powertrain But I do not like the Bike Frame and seat configuration .
Good video. I like the dual review. That seems like cherry creek ?
We did film it at Cherry Creek Reservoir.
Thanks for the review. I plan to buy one this year. Please drop a note about the safety gear you're using (including the knee and elbow pads).
Sure thing! All the safety gear we wear: bit.ly/2UMQmr6
Another thing is that you can put a password on the ebike it won't let you use the ebike without it. But they still can use it as a regular bike but doesn't seem viable considering the bike is like 90 Ibs
Received MY UPS tracking number TODAY 10/19/22 🤔 wonder HOW LONG I must wait for delivery ! I noticed neither of you COMPLAINED about the spinning front tire ~,or did you know to only have the rear motor on until you got moving ?
Daaaaaaang thats one speedy e-bike 🔥
You would love it!
Not really when others get up to 45 and 55mph
thanks guys!
Great review thankyou. For around 3k it should have mirrors. Especially if mainly riding/driving in traffic.
Hi I love your reviews you guys are awesome!!! Would you please review the East sells crown super monarch 1500 e-bike ASAP? Thanks for listening
Hi Jimmy nice review. What helmet model are you wearing? Looks good.
I too would like to know which helmet you are wearing Jimmy!
great review!
Another brilliant video, guys! 😉👌 If I was going to buy any e-bike it would be one of these, for sure. Contacted Ariel Bikes however and they only ship within the states just now (I'm in the UK 😒). Fingers crossed next year though. 👍
If your willing to pay extra in shipping you might... I know people who order from Hawaiian islands... they pay an extra 400 to have it shipped to the island
@@Cannaburg Thanks Jon. That's very handy. If I sell my e-scooter then I'll give you a shout. Really appreciate that, fella. 😎👌
Great review. Looks like Cherry Creek reservoir? I'm a Colorado native.
Where is this? What city? I love the sceneries!
Good review, very thorough and realistic/ down to earth. Would buy if I didn't already have a 250cc dual sport motorcycle for daily commute
Why would u own a motorcycle over grizzly ebike?/ spend some money don't be cheap
Would like to find out how it actually preforms Off Road not a rock trail but In The Woods type off reading with mud, not Quicksand type but mud and water
. Looking at it for entering and exiting the woods during hunting season for a 62 yr.old man
Great review. Love the Grizzly. Liked and subbed. Could be my next bike. Just got a Hey Bike Mars. My 1st Ebike. Really like the Grizzly. You have a beautiful place to ride. Where is it at? Thanks again for the video
the Ellio ebike is also a dual motor Belgian ebike.
Climb some mountains please!
Made for crusin...needs cruise control
Get rid of twist throttle and add up and down thumb button for speed
I wish they had this option on the x class frame, it's just such a better looking frame imo
Great looking E-Bike and very practical for daily use. How much is it?
3300 after taxes
lol ebike, and for 3300 You can get a top of the line bosch powered ebike that would make a 100x better commuter. Turbo mode gives 300 percent boost per pedal.
I have a Jeep Renegade too, lol. Seriously considering a Grizzly as well.
Did you buy the insurance (Route Package Protection $89) when you bought yours? It covers loss, damage or stolen product during shipment. I would think they would send you one if you didn't get it. I hear they only cover $100 if you don't get the added protection.
Damn jimmy your channel blew up. Congrats
What helmets are U guys wearing ?
Trojan
The problem with cables is not just looks (it looks bad), it is when you load/unload or store it, they get caught on things and really piss you off, and even get damaged. Looks like the old honda 50
How about tying them with a bungee cord , Would that help in your situation ?
I think the new Grizzly is the ultimate *Jeep* of the e-bike world. I can't think of any other e-bike that has such utility, at any price.
you clearly don't know bikes. This thing would never hang with a bosch motor on an acutal trail.
@@xmateinc Comment removed owing to gratuitous, unnecessary insults. lol
I'm pretty sure if I took a 104 lb e moped on the same trails as I do my 370 lb Suzuki DR650 that it would feel like a feather compared to the 650.😁
I have a DR650 as well!
How well does it do going uphill? And can you put 750 watt decals on it so it looks legal in PA?
It comes with a class 2 sticker on it already and the v2 is 1000w motors
yeah it says class 2 i think you will be ok it does fine on hills even moves me around ua-cam.com/video/OKNcFJ9TOT8/v-deo.html
I was thinking about it pulling a trailer.
i feel sorry for you if 2k w is the most your have experienced.
I feel sorry for myself too.
maybe you should make a video how to build one then? im interested on seeing someone build a powerful ebike using a budget.
kind of looking to see if this thing will go up a hill - no hills in your area?
Nice review. Thanks. Maybe I'm missing something, but that sure does not look like a height adjustable seat. Is it?
No seat is not adjustable... only thing you can do it purchase a longer seat
I will say this is probably the best ebike out there regardless of style... whether it's a 26in tire with a mtb frame or Cafe style looking bike... this beats literally anything on the market regardless
its not adjustable but JBSeats makes taller seats or you could use spacers to get it to your liking the seat comes off with 4 nuts very easy
I was going to get it but not being able to easily reach the bell is a not starter for me.
Thanks for the info. How well would a rider around 210lbs going up a very steep hill on a Grizzly do? My area has steep hills everywhere and wasn’t sure how well this bike would climb without pedal assist
No problems at all!
ua-cam.com/video/OKNcFJ9TOT8/v-deo.html it does fine im bigger than 210
0:55 Everyone who mentions the air shocks, never mentions how much pressure should be applied. Not even the factory tells you.
@@Maber01 Where does the 50% number come from?
Love the video.
How does this hold up in the rain? I live in Seattle and am wondering about riding in the rain consistently as a commuter bike.
Thoughts?
It can be ridden in the rain. Just don't go in heavy downpours. I think it's rated at the ipx 65 or whatever it's called lol... basically it can get splashed just don't put it through a power washer... also cover the screen with a plastic bag for added protection
its not a sealed motor or battery. You will ruin this in a heavy downpour. You can get a completely sealed bosch powered bike for this bike. Unless what you want is a throttle and a scooter.
does fine so far we have had it in bad weather and off road trails its been fine ua-cam.com/video/OKNcFJ9TOT8/v-deo.html
Take your polarized sun glasses of to read the display. I teather my sunglasses as I do when I’m on a Seado
I’m 5,6 and I like to cruise and ride around the city. Do you think I can ride this comfortably?
They should have an option of no pedal assist model.
What a lil monster
Hello Rusty Roads! Very informative video as always! I wanted to ask you what class type of e-bike is the X-class 52V and the Grizzly ? I really want to get one but I doubt you can ride it legally in the state of california since it has 1000W (unlike the 48V which only has 750W). It would be really helpful if you could answer this grey area of the law for me 😭🙂. Love your content!
It's considered a Class 2 ebike but not sure what the California rules are.
But they are 1000
Class 3 is max 28mph without pedaling.
Both can still do bike lanes on eco mode. But CA bike paths are 15mph assisted which rules any of these out unless you’re pedaling a dead battery.
@@tallasianmike its limited to 20mp until unlocked
Gents what what brand helmets were wearing here? TIA. Going to buy this bike late this year.
Thanks for a great review Video. Does it seat 2 or 1 person?
one with a short saddle and 2 with a long it has rear pegs they worked good ua-cam.com/video/OKNcFJ9TOT8/v-deo.html
Where we can purchase that kind of ebike and how much it cost......thanks
Links in the description!
It cost $3,299 and with taxes about $3,500
You can buy it online from Ariel Rider, when they are in stock.
This is made for me guys!
Hi guys … this nice E-bike made in ? Which country ? And how much please? I live in Sydney … many thanks
Number one reason why I love e-bikes
No license insurance or registration
Just kryptonite locks alarms trackers and you lol
how punchy is the motor?
It's got a ton of punch for an eBike. Here's a link to a video where we do a speed test showing the acceleration. ua-cam.com/video/4U7L3yzxcqM/v-deo.html
thank you for the reply, im waiting for my dual motor Eunorau fatbike which is on indiegogo now. It comes with dual bafang rm g060 750w motors and was wondering if Ariel is using same motor or actual 1kw hub motor
Adjustable seat height to enable proper leg extension when pedaling?
It's for someone who doesn't want to pedal a stupid bicycle everywhere! Lol.. I have an e-bike, and it's not because I want to be a bicyclist. It's just good, cheap, reliable transportation around town. Gets you to the store, to work and back, and to the park and bike trails on the weekend, with little to no effort, and it's very inexpensive to operate and maintain compared to a motorcycle or a car.
