It's been pointed out plenty, but I really do love the individual stories tailored to the different age groups connected by the overall story. The kids get an ETesque plot, the teenagers get a horror/monster story, and the adults get a government conspiracy mystery. And each flows so well into the other; very well written.
More like poltergeist than ET.

@@Don10-21 nah I loved 3 also... Quite frankly, in some ways it's my favorite season. Staying spoiler free, every season has a theme .. I just think season 3s theme went over a lot of people's heads

@@spcl0ne646 yes. The reason why I’m mentioning these actors in particular is because they’ve brought to life very rare characters in Hollywood. Eleven in particular represents a very foreign girl with no speaking skills unable to fit in but finds a way because she is so unique.

Stranger Things perfectly captures the moment between childhood and adolescence, when new friends and interests-and interest in new friends-can either make or break lifelong friendships.
I know you mentioned them sending a robot, but one of the biggest factors of this show is the fact that it's in the 80s.. so drones and a lot of the tech isn't as common as it is today.
It makes for a cool aesthetic, but also explains why a lot of modern technology isn't available, which also leads to a lack of communication, so there are so many puzzle pieces that each of them find and the viewers want to come together to complete the bigger picture. It makes for great suspense and is a great display of expert writing!🙌
I just came here to say that! It's like when I watched an episode of ER, where the doctor hadn't gone christmas shopping. He only had one day left to buy something, and I wondered why he didn't order something online from Amazon. Oh yeah. This was the 90's.
They put Eleven in a tank of water for sensory deprivation. They black it out so there's no light or sound. She's floating so there's less sense of feeling or gravity. This dramatically dampens physical sensory inputs so a person can be completely focused in their mind. Some people do this for relaxation while others do it to explore the mind.

This show is pretty much a giant dnd campaign haha. I love how much of the kids knowledge is based off of their favorite game, and it just happens to all be the same. Love it!. Great video and great reaction you two :)

Binge watching this was my favorite Netflix experience. And basically everyone else's too. Imagine living in a world without this show...What are we going to do when this is over? Only one season left.
I love that y’all aren’t too hard on Lucas. He went about things the wrong way (because he’s a literal child lol) but his intentions were good - he wanted to concentrate on finding Will. A lot of people blast him even later in the show and it makes me sad bc he’s one of my favorite characters lol.

Well, just minutes later they had surveilance-cameras. No digital photo, but TV existed and at least 3 standards of video-tape recording. Also remote-controlled vehicles did exist. Bco the weight of this unit, I guess a wired connection would be prefered over radio-control and VHF-signals.

One of thee greatest shows of all time in my opinion…right up there with Game of Thrones s1-s7, Walking Dead S1-S7, Orange Is The New Black, and Breaking Bad.
This takes place in the 80s man. Not sure they had robots like that back then 😂

I think you are beginning to see why so many people were hooked on this show when it first came out! I got hooked because I am a sucker for anything involving Dungeons and Dragons. These kids are using game terms to describe what is going on in their world and it works! (The upside down and Demogorgon, Veil of Shadows, etc. all come from the game.) This was so fun to watch along! I have not see you two react with so many jumpscares before! I think the show does a really good job of partnering people off according to the story!

It's supposed to be the 80's. Pretty sure they didn't have robots back then. They also didn't have drones or smartphones. People take modern technology for granted and just assume the stuff we have now has always existed.
I'm so happy you're watching this show and enjoying it so much! These kids are all awesome and so brave. Eleven, Mike, Lucas, Dustin & Will are only 12, and Nancy is not that much older actually at 15-16, and Jonathan is 16. I guess you do what you gotta do for friends and family! I always felt bad for Barb of course, but also for Nancy. Everyone's so focused on Will that other than between Nancy & Jonathan no one really thinks of the fact that her best friend is missing too, and she feels SO guilty. Eleven's story is absolutely heartbreaking. Such a great show, such a great story and such an awesome cast! They're all terrific.

9:00 electronics have not always been so readily available. In 1983 robots probes were not a normal thing. Certainly not with video recording capability.

Dustin is one of my favorite's and he is super smart, and he sees everything. I like his character.
I for one love the supernatural elements and how the kids cope with it through the veil of pop culture especially since the show is heavily based on original and advanced dungeons and dragons. Everything from the names of the monsters to the powers harkens back to old school d&d and I love it even though they take some massive liberties!
Funny you guys mentioned IT. The actor who plays Mike, was also one of the child actors in IT.

I dont know if anyone answered your question- but being as old as I am I had to giggle a little when you asked why they didnt send in a robot with a camera. #1 there weren't easily robots that could have handled a lot of weird bumpy land and #2 cameras were approximately the size of a microwave and couldn't transmit the info back. there was no live feed back
