I love these RS4 videos, long time fan. Got my own 4.2 v8 in a S5. I'm always putting money into it as there's always something to be done, but the smile the V8 puts on your face, cold starts are orgasmic and the torque when you get her going. Looking forward to seeing the RS4 without the christmas tree dashlights
German's make some of the best driving cars on the road. Problem is they start to have to many problems as they get older. It can be overwhelming at times. 2006 A4 owner with 170k.
Because German cars are over engineered to break on purpose at a certain time they aren’t built to last unlike Japanese cars they maybe less luxurious but the engineers think of longevity of their products
2008 A3 14760 miles on the clock,, I have to press the open fob twice to open the rear passenger door and yesterday I locked the car and the radio came on. 😂
Great to see a video on the RS4. I definitely recommend you guys getting a diagnostic tester. You could save yourself time and money having to go to Awesome to get them to plug it in all the time. I’d also be turning off the secondary air pump off if I was you. Great video as always look forward to more soon!

Great video! I ran a C7 RS6 (Litchfield) from 2013 - 2020, 120,000 miles - loved it. In the end I got rid due to suspension issues - just was not prepared to take the risk. Then had a RS5 and now a 2022 RS6 again (Litchfield). Whatever age you buy, as I am sure you are aware, it is not the headline cost of the car that burns. It is the fuel and upkeep. My RS6 is just about to hit 18000 miles, first major service. And it needs discs and pads all around. And a set of tyres. I think that is about 8K !! / Cheers. Mark.

@@redemptionx2918 It’s an RS4 mate, wavy brake discs and 4 pads each side, only fitted to the R8, RS5 and RS4 of that generation. There are some companies that make cheap replacement discs but I wouldn’t trust them on a 1.9t car with that much power.

Go for Reyland discs mate. Can get yourself a 380mm upgrade for cheaper than replacement OEM discs. Coupled with DS2500 pads she will stop in half the time too 😊
They don’t have OEM discs on if I remember correctly, also the pads they currently have are better quality than DS2500’s you mentioned so it’s not an upgrade at all, it’s a downgrade. DS2500 pads are ok but not great by any means.
@@Nathan_R32 DS2500’s are one of the best fast road/track pads out there. What would you recommend? There are alternatives for sure but I’ve tried others on my B7 RS4 and the DS2500’s are excellent. Many other owners go for them too.
@@JC_46 I am not saying they are a bad pad at all but they certainly aren't one of the top pads imo, id rather go for an EBC Yellowstuff pads for fast road and very light track use but the pads they have in are very good for what they use them for. If it was more track focused I would say they need a better pad like they put in the old avant. I will say however I am sure VBT know alot more than you or I..
@@Nathan_R32 everyone hears different things, I’ve not heard good things about yellowstuff. Half the time it’s hearsay on forums and one persons experience doesn’t always reflect the pad. Wasn’t aware of their current setup so if they have something good already then no need to change to anything different. Nice R32 btw, looks well set up. I have one myself :)
DS2500 are overrated. Ok on a 1200kg car. They are not a track pad. Myself and many of my friends can attest to this. Ds1.11 for track. They are an ok fast road pad.
Well, there we go. Most folk see the somewhat more affordable forecourt price, and forget all about the maintenance costs performance cars require, if they ever understood it at all. And then moan about how crappy and unreliable it is. Fact is, 30 years back, maybe cars were more reliable, but the most you'd expect from a 2Litre everyman car would be around 120bhp. Engines are tuned much harder these days straight from factory, for both performance and emissions. Push this gospel; if you can't afford it new, you can't afford it used.

Audi are a problem 😂 Uninspiring numb understeering boring cars with non existent driving dynamics. Had the new rs6 for brief spell & wow what a boring numb overpriced car with absolutely zero character. Probably the most overrated cars on the market are Audi especially the rs range

Cost me £1500 when I had frt discs and pads on my RS4 done by Audi very little after market available back then then lol (2011)

I considered a B7 earlier this year but decided against it just due to age and got a 2015 S1 instead for similar money. Don't regret the decision.

Brembo pads, £77 at euro car parts for S4 B8\.5. They take 30 minutes to change
