All the sleepless nights. Just like us back in 2017. We launched at mercia in and stayed on the superberths for a couple of years. The Indian had just opened and gave a good deal for moorers. Enjoy the vids 👍

Not only is the multifuel stove beautiful, there is something calming about watching the flames. I spent 3 years in a 1900 square foot home heated entirely by wood stove. Gathering the wood was a pain, but there is something natural about tending a wood or coal fire.

The fire looks superb, great workmanship. I have used Streethay in the past and was pleased with the work, sent you a message about it on your website. A vlog on the bed would be great as I would like to do something similar. I'm going to go over to one of those new style composter loos, eventually. We have a pump out and a cassette but just cant handle the cassette thing, just hate it. Those composter loos have come a long way in the last few years. Anyway, it looks really nice and warm and comfortable. Well done for realising your dream.

Great vlog/podcast thank you. Can you just clarify something please? You said the diesel heater was costing £170 per month in fuel. Is that for the stove and central heating, or just the stove? I’m having a boat built and was having a diesel stove but now I’m not so sure! Thanks.
Hi Gill, just the stove! Now we did have it on for 24hrs a day on the middle setting BUT the boat wasn’t anywhere near as warm as it is now. We love the Morso and really would suggest you think this one through. Mrs B xx
Great video again guys. Looking really cozy in there, i totally agree with your choice of the multi fuel burner. Had one in my house for years so when i finally do get to find a boat that option will be a must. Never heard of the baby oil treatment though, must give that a try. BTW if you hear of anyone there selling a boat around £50k giza shout yeah
Back in the 1960"s I was a little kid and every morning it was my chore to go to the wood shed and fill the coal scuttle for my mon to cook breakfast, lunch, and supper. I also brought in the wood and filled the 2 wood boxes, one in the kitchen and one in the living room. By the time the 1970's was half over with I was going to the woods and logging trees and hauling the trunks up to the wood shed and sawing up the wood and splitting then stacking it. 21 to 25 cord of wood a year. With all that I'm glad I grew to 2 meters tall and 235 pounds. Mom and dad went to a pellet stove which I think don't do the job nearly as well as a normal wood stove. lol way too long winded, but I love a wood stove and a king size bed. PS( Mom said coal gives a more even heat which makes it easier not to burn a meal.)
Hello Darren and Wendy- I live in Florida, so I am not very well educated about the canals in UK & Europe. Where can you go to live aboard a wide beam or narrowboat that is warm? I'm very interested. We don't think we could take the cold in the UK. I didn't know there were other locations for full-time cruisers!!! Thank you in advance!!! Love the new STOVE! I agree with you...the ambiance of a real fire is worth any slight inconvenience it may pose. It is sort of like setting by the ocean and just watching the waves...very relaxing!
Hi Sue, yes the weather over here is never that good! We get the odd week of sun and then its mainly grey and rainy!!! We would like to end up in the south of France or maybe sat on a marina in Spain or Portugal! We just want some sun in our later years! Mrs B xx
Hi Darren & Wendy, love the fire it looks so welcoming. I pricked my ears up at Darren's motogp comments as we are avid watchers. We agree with your sentiments regarding Rossi. He is a great ambassador for the sport, he also puts so much back with the youngsters he brings on, a great man. One thing to bear in mind is that he probably won't ever leave the sport. I can see him having his own team in the top flight of the sport. We are into caravan touring, when we stay on a site near Adlington, Lanc s we are near the White Bear Marina. We were quite impressed with a narrow boat there in Yamaha colours & a big 46 on the side. Have a photo of you are interested? Stay safe, from Pete & Sue.

Yes, I've almost finished our 70'narrowbeam. The WB option sort of appeals to me and I might look at it after a year or two. On the other hand, warmer climes, now there's a rub, for me anyhow. I've lived out east for over 30 years- lots of sun on back etc. I'm actually looking forward to a change. It's a tough one I suppose as the grass seems always greener. I envy the people of the US in some ways as they seem to have so much choice of environments. Sunny Florida to wilderness Washington State. I'd love a boat there sometimes, on a lake or similar. People think I'm mad coming back. It's just choice and inner feelings etc. All the best. I've just subscribed to the podcasts. PS. Might I ask, where are the vlogs on your world trip on a bike.please? My mate took his Enfield from here in HK back to Edinburgh- mostly travelled through Russia. We had planned a trip with our 4x4 from HK to Bali-- it never worked out unfortunately as along came our son. Oh well.

Hi Darren and Wendy. Yes I agree, we are constant cruisers and don't spend £170 a month on diesel. Diesel fires are very expensive to run. Don't think you can beat a coal fire. 🍷🍷

I don’t know if it’s possible in the UK but we camp in an rv and most of the parks we use here in USA have WiFi. We can configure our phones to make calls through the router from inside the rv. We have stayed in some remote locations with no phone service at all but phone works normally via router and WiFi. I have an iPhone and wife has Android.
I have just looked at Mercia Marina mooring prices. Very nice Marina with loads of facilities but over £3500 a year for a 60ft Narrow Boat. And wide Beams are charged at double the price of a Narrow Boat, So £7000 for a 60ft wide beam. per year.
Hi, we pay around £4000 per year for a super berth. If you go on line and look for Mercia Marina you will see in their home page a link to mooring fees/type and length of bot etc. Hope this helps. Mrs B xx
William Webb yes, but found wood is often damp, and there is little space aboard to dry it properly which takes months. That's why the vast majority of boaters burn smokeless briquettes. Burning damp wood massively increases particulate emissions while destroying the efficiency of the stove.
G'day to you both, I've been watching your vlogs since Adam was a boy and I thank you both for keeping me interested and entertained. Mr B, when you said "If you insult me I don't care but if you insult my wife you will be banned." This proves we are riding on the same train but just banning seems a bit mild. Mrs B, going for a walk in a nature park with a hipflask full of Wild Turkey is just Gold. When you get your dog don't forget wet dogs shake. Love your videos and refuse to miss any. We had to get a super king bed so our two dogs at the time could sleep on it with us, now we only have Rupert but he now spreads out IN it and we are laying on the edge, then he gets hot get out, after an hour he climbs back IN
I love your stove and not relying on diesel heating is perfectly understandable. People are too worried these days about hazards. The dangers are low to none if you used them as specified. However, I personally dislike the the fact that most people are buying the Cubic stoves, just for the popularity of it. The box is incredibly small and it doesn't last through the night, no matter if you stack it full. The few ambers in the morning don't sell it for me. A Kimberly would be better suited, in my opinion, for a taller combustion chamber and not really that wider profile. Even a homemade rocket stove or a batch box seema better, because you are able to use long pieces of wood, branches or logs, without the need to saw them into such small segments. Imagine how much time you save by not sawing the fuel. Anyhow, don't mind my rant. Have you thought about having a perforated pellet burning container which you could use in your stove? That might reduce the price of the sawdust logs or the coal you use, and better utilize the storage space. Kind regards form Scotland

Hi Paul, it was a tough decision to be perfectly honest because I really liked the Diesel stove BUT the cost of running it was simply more than we wanted to spend and we didn’t want to be reliant on diesel for all our heating. Now we have coal, wood, and oil (we have a few oil fired free standing radiators) and diesel for central heating. Plus we really did miss the cosy feeling of a real fire. Mrs B xx

Great vlog/podcast thank you. Can you just clarify something please? You said the diesel heater was costing £170 per month in fuel. Is that for the stove and central heating, or just the stove? I’m having a boat built and was having a diesel stove but now I’m not so sure! Thanks.
Hi Gill, just the stove! Now we did have it on for 24hrs a day on the middle setting BUT the boat wasn’t anywhere near as warm as it is now. We love the Morso and really would suggest you think this one through. Mrs B xx

Had one in my house for years so when i finally do get to find a boat that option will be a must. Never heard of the baby oil treatment though, must give that a try. Back in the 1960"s I was a little kid and every morning it was my chore to go to the wood shed and fill the coal scuttle for my mon to cook breakfast, lunch, and supper. I also brought in the wood and filled the 2 wood boxes, one in the kitchen and one in the living room.
By the time the 1970's was half over with I was going to the woods and logging trees and hauling the trunks up to the wood shed and sawing up the wood and splitting then stacking it. 21 to 25 cord of wood a year. With all that I'm glad I grew to 2 meters tall and 235 pounds.
Mom and dad went to a pellet stove which I think don't do the job nearly as well as a normal wood stove.
lol way too long winded, but I love a wood stove and a king size bed.
PS( Mom said coal gives a more even heat which makes it easier not to burn a meal.)
Now that's a Bonneville Boat : ) A big heart and a real fire.

Hello Darren and Wendy- I live in Florida, so I am not very well educated about the canals in UK & Europe. Where can you go to live aboard a wide beam or narrowboat that is warm? I'm very interested. We don't think we could take the cold in the UK. I didn't know there were other locations for full-time cruisers!!! Thank you in advance!!! Love the new STOVE! I agree with you...the ambiance of a real fire is worth any slight inconvenience it may pose. It is sort of like setting by the ocean and just watching the waves...very relaxing!

Hi Darren & Wendy, love the fire it looks so welcoming. I pricked my ears up at Darren's motogp comments as we are avid watchers. We agree with your sentiments regarding Rossi. He is a great ambassador for the sport, he also puts so much back with the youngsters he brings on, a great man. One thing to bear in mind is that he probably won't ever leave the sport. I can see him having his own team in the top flight of the sport.
We are into caravan touring, when we stay on a site near Adlington, Lanc s we are near the White Bear Marina. We were quite impressed with a narrow boat there in Yamaha colours & a big 46 on the side. Have a photo of you are interested? Stay safe, from Pete & Sue.

Yes, I've almost finished our 70'narrowbeam. The WB option sort of appeals to me and I might look at it after a year or two. On the other hand, warmer climes, now there's a rub, for me anyhow. I've lived out east for over 30 years- lots of sun on back etc. I'm actually looking forward to a change. It's a tough one I suppose as the grass seems always greener. I envy the people of the US in some ways as they seem to have so much choice of environments. Sunny Florida to wilderness Washington State. I'd love a boat there sometimes, on a lake or similar.
People think I'm mad coming back. It's just choice and inner feelings etc. All the best.

Yes I agree, we are constant cruisers and don't spend £170 a month on diesel. Diesel fires are very expensive to run. Don't think you can beat a coal fire. 🍷🍷

I don’t know if it’s possible in the UK but we camp in an rv and most of the parks we use here in USA have WiFi. We can configure our phones to make calls through the router from inside the rv. We have stayed in some remote locations with no phone service at all but phone works normally via router and WiFi. I have an iPhone and wife has Android.

Our WiFi setup on our boat is the same as yours , you need to set your phone to WiFi calling that working 100% of the time 👌

I have just looked at Mercia Marina mooring prices. Very nice Marina with loads of facilities but over £3500 a year for a 60ft Narrow Boat. And wide Beams are charged at double the price of a Narrow Boat, So £7000 for a 60ft wide beam. per year.

If cruising in rural areas plenty of free wood is a big plus
William Webb yes, but found wood is often damp, and there is little space aboard to dry it properly which takes months. That's why the vast majority of boaters burn smokeless briquettes. Burning damp wood massively increases particulate emissions while destroying the efficiency of the stove.

We had to get a super king bed so our two dogs at the time could sleep on it with us, now we only have Rupert but he now spreads out IN it and we are laying on the edge, then he gets hot get out, after an hour he climbs back IN

I love your stove and not relying on diesel heating is perfectly understandable. People are too worried these days about hazards. The dangers are low to none if you used them as specified.
However, I personally dislike the the fact that most people are buying the Cubic stoves, just for the popularity of it. The box is incredibly small and it doesn't last through the night, no matter if you stack it full. The few ambers in the morning don't sell it for me. A Kimberly would be better suited, in my opinion, for a taller combustion chamber and not really that wider profile. Even a homemade rocket stove or a batch box seema better, because you are able to use long pieces of wood, branches or logs, without the need to saw them into such small segments. Imagine how much time you save by not sawing the fuel.
Anyhow, don't mind my rant. Have you thought about having a perforated pellet burning container which you could use in your stove? That might reduce the price of the sawdust logs or the coal you use, and better utilize the storage space.

Just listened to your December podcast ... what changed your mind from "never ever ever get rid of diesel stove" to changing to multi fuel. Promise, no sarcasm intended, would genuinely like to know?
Hi Paul, it was a tough decision to be perfectly honest because I really liked the Diesel stove BUT the cost of running it was simply more than we wanted to spend and we didn’t want to be reliant on diesel for all our heating. Now we have coal, wood, and oil (we have a few oil fired free standing radiators) and diesel for central heating. Plus we really did miss the cosy feeling of a real fire. Mrs B xx
