This was a wonderful video. I almost wish that every time we saw the doctor, there would be a flashback where the body part belonging to one of the women glitches, symbolizing the trauma she experienced. It wouldn't be the doctor who was actually the killer, but rather the daughter's memories mixing with their trauma, making the doctor appear as though he did it."
that was a... unique take on Sally's origins... especially at the end when she was a victim... And Finkelstein wanting to bring his daughter back no matter who he had to sacrifice.
@@CJ_IsHere according in to official as i can remember. Sally was from the dream world but taken by Finkelstein to be his wife at young age that before the movie
I love how the souls of victims try to comfort her. It's like they are saying "Hey it's okay you didn't ask for this. We don't blame you for what he did, you are just as much a victim to this man's actions as we are. Please don't blame yourself"
The line “ was this my life before “ hits so hard because Sally aren’t even sure if she is an individual or if she is all those soles of the victim’s combined.
This also makes why he’s so protective of her: he lost her once and he never wants to let her go again, and feeling massively guilty that he caused her death in the first place by getting her interested in magic. And then there’s Sally, who didn’t want to die young but also feels terrified on who her father has become and guilty over what he did to bring her back. (Of course this doesn’t make his actions justified).
There's this fanfic where Sally's pregnant and she wants to go to Dr. Finklstein to 'end that chapter of her life' so to speak and he genunily apologizes for his actions and even offers to be her doctor. This is my adopted headcanon
This actually made me feel bad for finklestein, the ending makes me think thats the reason why Finkle still allows sally around the couldron, because she loved it so much while she was still alive
I love the transitions between all the victims and the different parts of Sallys body! She looks down at her legs, which were once used in school sports and to walk between tables, her torso which was well taken care of and trained through a healthy lifestyle, and her hands which once used to sew and and hold her daughter. This is REALLY good. While I don’t think anyone in Halloween town is openly malicious, (🎵“that’s our job, but we’re not mean!”🎵) the idea that they all used to be alive is canon in my head. I love the idea that Sallys impulse to run from Finklestein derives from her past lives. I love that her somewhat daughter relationship with him is from his real daughter. Everything about this just makes SENSE. And I adore Finklesteins backstory. It makes what he did seem like a much deeper thing besides just “having someone to serve and assist him”. I like this a lot better then Long Live the Pumpkin Queen, because it’s deeper then just “Finklestein is evil”. That doesn’t make what he did good in ANY way. But we can understand it. To allow his daughter a new life, he took the lives of a mother who had a family, a teenager who still had her whole life ahead of her, and a young woman who was actively improving her life and physically fought Finklestein because she wanted to LIVE. This is easily the best story you’ve come up with!
I suspected that he's an evil scientist that murderer many girls to grab their body parts to create Sally. But now realizing he was trying to bring back his daughter, but takes sacrifices to bring her back. Makes more sense, and very sad for both of them.
Oh wow. For Sally to have been Finklestein's daughter, killed a witch and him becoming what he is, as well as a serial killer, all in effort to bring her back... Holy shit. Wonderful work though.
I get the feeling that the victims were killed in different decades. The seamstress seems to come from the 1950s/60s, with the teenager being maybe ten to twenty years after that and the pilates instructor in the 1980s (if we assume that the film was set in the year it was released, 1993).
I really love this origin for sally because I get an idea of how the plot goes. Finklestein and Sally were possibly from the Thanksgiving world since the world gives those vibes. After Sally’s death, he took her to Halloween town and he tries ro find ways to bring her back. This in turn caused him to slowly lose his appearance and turn into a wicked monster like the others. He travels to the human world and hunts for these women. And he stuffs her with leaves to remind him of their first home and the season it was. I love this origin story idea and the music adds so much too it. You did a fantastic job at this❤️❤️🙌🎶
Yeah but really sad how he lost his daughter because every pilgrims accused her as a witch and chopped her head off cleaned then burn her body and when finklestein was devastated to see his daughter was now dead and I understand why he never let her go to see the outside world because he didn’t want to lose her again because she’s the only family he has
I accepted a ride from a stranger once when I was a teen. He blatantly drove past my house and several blocks more. When I pointed this out to him he said nothing with a creepy serious demeanor. At one red light about ten blocks past my house I noticed the dude forgot to lock my door. He tried to touch my hair and I dipped out, ran through traffic and into a nearby gas station. There I told the cashier and called my father. I still shudder to think of what could’ve happened if that door was locked or if that light hadn’t turned red….
Oh wow, what an interesting take on Sally's origin. If Finklestein wasn't such a creep and I hadn't read Long Live the Pumpkin Queen, I'd say this could explain a lot about his weird obsession of keeping Sally close. But this idea that he went mad due to the loss of his daughter and decided to rebuild her to have her back with him again is sad, if not demented, especially with her feeling she doesn't belong in the body he created for her. Great song and storytelling!
I love that this still works for Long Live The Pumpkin Queen, as the book mentions that he slowly erased her memories and attempted to make her stop dreaming and to acept his lie of having made her and him being her father as truth but the foggy memories of her true history keep screaming to her to run, to take walks in the moon light. The book for Sally focuses after marrying Jack she learns that she was born of Dreamtown kidnapped as a child, a ragdoll like her parents (The Elected Rulers of the Land Of Dreams) only for the dr to remove her cotton replacing it with graveyard plants. By the end of it Sally realises that ahe cant change the past only her view on it and sees that she never needed to feel insecure over being next to Jack ((honestly i love Jack in this book he is soo suportive of his wife)) The king of Halloween, for Sally is The Queen of Nightmares on acount of her marriage and her homeland.
This reminds me that the actual origin is pretty bad too. Sally was a rag doll living with her parents and Finklestein found her lovely cause he wanted a daughter but hadn’t managed to make one so he kidnapped Sally and blocked the way back to her home and when they got back to Halloween town he took all of the cotton out of her body and replaced it with leaves
The girl at 1:29 likely has leg problems due to the original take that Sarah was supposed to have trouble walking, but it was cut from the film, nice take
Ohh~! I love that twist that he was a father that went mad over his daughter dying. Doing literally everything he can to find the right parts to bring back his daughter after we saw all the terrible killing he committed against those woman. Finkelsteen despite how he goes about is trying to be a good father. The reason he never lets her out is no one can ever hurt her again. Though as time went on he realized this wasn’t his daughter anymore and so grew to despise them.

@@fantasy-writer-v5zyeah I agree what you said but the professor just wanted his daughter back but you shouldn’t kill other people just to bring her back we know you miss her but she is always in your heart
I always thought the scientist guy was just mean and angry but it was probably because he might’ve actually lost a child but this video is making so much sense! I feel bad for sallys past life in the video😭
So an Alchemist from the 1600s, a Seamstress form the 20s, a Waitress from the 50s, and fitness instructor from the 80s meet a mad scientist.....theres a bad joke in there somewhere.
I love this story! It's horrible, because what he did, but it's sad by the other hand, because why he did that , he was just heartbroken. Amazing twisted tale, just like always !👏❤
I love how each woman seems to come from a different time period: Sally from Puritan times, the seamstress from the fifties, the waitress from the sixties/seventies (I'm going off of the style of jacket she was wearing and the way she readily accepted a ride from a stranger), and the athlete from the eighties (again, going off of the wardrobe). If a murderer is trying not to get caught (by humans or the Halloweentown monsters, as I'm guessing Jack would have objected had he known what the doctor was doing), then they'd space out their attacks, make each one seem unrelated. The time he "built" Sally (assuming that the torso was the last piece he needed) would have been in the eighties, and she's obviously been with Finkelstein for a while by the movie (which came out in the late nineties). Just... it all works. Fantastic.
This would make sense, on why and how she made Sally in the first place. However, it's hard to keep the same person alive, after they're already dead. So I don't blame Sally for wanting to leave the madman himself, since he decided to take the darkest path.
Oh my! Poor Sally was created by Dr. Finkelstein who used to be a psycho doctor when he used several body parts to bring her to life. This is a very sad, super scary, and yet very catchy origin song of Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. Also, I feel bad for Finkelstein because he wanted to bring his daughter back. Great work on this origin song, Milkky! You've done an awesome job, as always! 🎃🎃🦇🦇👻👻🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
We get Sally’s Revamp Origin of how she came to be?! She was Finklestein’s daughter(Sally is her real name), who died for being mistaken for being a Witch. So after she he died, he goes to the living world to get body parts to resurrect her(her body was burned to ash, while her head was chopped off). He got her arms from a seamstress, her legs from waitress, and her torso from pilate instructor…all them young women. Now she’s haunted by all their memories of their very last terrifying moments. He did some horrible and misguided things, but it was all to bring her back…his precious daughter. Hopefully she can remember it too(the last one was got to be Finklestein’s memory).❤️🩵🪡🤍🖤🧠🎶🥺😢 If Tim Burton watches this and book wasn’t made(before the song was made), this would be great to become canon.☺️👏
Damn, my mind just exploded! This is a great history for her! I never thought on how he got the body parts, this is really interesting. Love your songs!!!
I genuinely like this more than the pumpkin queen book. It’s darker, and I just like it better. I like the song too, absolute banger🫶 it’s a Sally backstory song, but also her father’s 😭
Won’t lie dude that’s pretty cool, gotta love a sorta Creature from the Frankenstein Book kinda origin. It’s cool to focus on more of how body was made to be. The origin of the Creature focuses on the betrayal and hatred he received from his creator Victor Frankenstein and this one focuses more on the horrific ways the women died to create Sally and the guilt or maybe even ghost she is haunted by.
o.o duuuuude the story telling!! This is such an interesting take on the inner workings of their relationship. It's wonderful in all the messed up ways
I see the ending as she doesn't recognize that he is her father, like she thinks she is just sadly another part he stole, like she isn't his daughter just part of the doll he wanted. I think she feels like she is like all the other girls that she was just a part he stole just saldy she is just the head he chose, because she has no emotional connection cuz she said he makes her feel numb and if she knew i feel like she would feel something other than numb but idk just what i took from this 😚🫴💞
I like that the souls bound to her aren’t mad at her. She has no control over the fact that she was made this way. She’s as much a victim as they are. I wonder, at what point did the good Doctor start justifying his atrocities? At what point did he start thinking “She’ll thank me for this, I’m doing this for her.” Did he ever consider stopping? And at what point did he STOP justifying this in his mind?
just noticed during the 3 flash backs Finklestein gradually changes after the first victim his lips become red, later his skin is more white (unless that's just me) then finally after the 3rd victim he's in a wheelchair with him having a metal plate on the top half due to the damage he sustained from the fall between him and the 3rd victim
There is a book on Sally's origin story which I highly recommend, but I love this just as much if not MORE than her "canon" backstory! You did an amazing job @Milkkymelodies❤🎃
This was amazing, and I think it is an amazing concept for an alternate universe of her. We do actually get her back from an officially published story where she came from a land of dreams. She was a doll filled with stuffing and was kidnapped by finkelstein, who took her stuffing out
Honestly this song makes me wonder who are the real monsters here, when you see what those humans did to Sally aka Dr. Finkelsteins daughter back when they were both alive. I mean seriously, they beheaded her and then burned her body at the stake. I'm not saying that what Finkelstein did to the human girls wasn't a terrible thing, because it was. However he did it out of love for his daughter and a desperate wish to bring her back. While the humans who killed Sally on the other hand was just cruel and killed her just because she, like her father, loved to experiment. Accusing her for being a witch, and what is really horrifying about this is that this is something that has actually happened in human history.
You know, according to the new Nightmare Before Christmas novel Long Live The Pumpkin Queen it's said that Sally was born in the distaint town of Dream Town and she was the daughter of the governers Albert and Greta. And she was named after Greta's grandmother. And when Dr Finklestein was a younger man he he'd heard about a substaince called "Dream Sand" and he wanted to study it. So he went to Dream town. And when he got there he saw Sally as a 12 year old girl and he was amazed by her since he'd never seen a living rag doll before. And he thought that if he took her he'd be renowned for his work as a scientist (since he'd always tried and failed to create his own daugher). So he kidnapped Sally from her bedroom, blocked the doorway to Dream Town so anyone wouldn't find out where she was really from, took her back to Halloween Town with him, used a potion to erase her memories of Dream Town, replaced the cotton inside her with dead leaves and told everyone that she was his own creation.
You know what’s really sad? Dr. Finkelstein pretty much did exactly what those people did to him. Those three women were someone’s daughter too, and maybe even someone’s mother if that little girl we saw belonged to the seamstress.
I like this. This was very tragic and I can probably see this as canon. Out of curiosity, did one of those souls she got memories from give Sally the idea to drug Dr. Finkelstein? Because I can totally see all this as why Sally wouldn't feel bad about that.
Wow. That was something entirely else. That was spooky amazing! But it also felt more like Franklestien's song/backstory than Sally's... and was it just me, or was the 3 ghosts of the victimized women kinda remind anyone of the ghost children from Coraline? I hope I dont sound like Im judging, because that was awesome! I loved it! 😍 🪡🩵
The mad scientist being a serial killer when he was alive makes sense. And Sally, his assistant accused of being a witch makes sense because in that era men would hang a woman for being smart or talked to animals
2:00 to 2:27 Fragmented memories (Whose are they? Whose are they?) Which ones belong to me? (Can't think straight, I can't think straight) Was this my life before? (Tryin' to remember, to remember) I don't wanna see anymore!! My favorite part of this song❤❤❤❤
This is a great song! And idk if it’s canon but we technically got a “sequel” in the book Long Live the Pumpkin Queen and Sally’s originals are explored and a bit different. I won’t soiled it though. But I love your interpretation of her origins!
I am so amazed, because I love that you put a flash back of Sally’s origin because what I really love is that you showed how he turned into this because of his daughter😢
Agree it’s a sad fanmade story I felt bad how he loses his daughter once decided to after young women body parts as a replacement for Sally’s old body and always never let her go because he was being overprotective of her I know how he felt he doesn’t want anything bad happened to her because she’s the only family he has
You know, this made me realize how questionable the mad scientist guy is in this scenario. Where did he get the parts for Sally? Unless he's been robbing graves, this man has blood on his hands.
This is a sad, beautiful, yet twisted idea of how Sally was created. It's not in the book: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen, but still I like this idea. However, in the book, Finklestein kidnaps Sally when she is twelve from Dream Town and drugs her with a forgetting potion so she won't remember. Then he deceives everyone into believing that Sally was his creation by replacing Sally's cotton stuffing with dried leaves to make the deception more believable.
Woah this is very dark BUT plausible? Especially if we consider the theory that some inhabitants of Halloween Town are people who died and were reborn in the Town. I hope you'll do an origin story of Lock, Shock and Barrel too as kids whose lives ended tragically and their spirits got snatched by Oogie Boogie before they could reach their afterlife.
In the book The Pumpkin Queen it shares what happens after the events of this the Nightmare Before Christmas, and it’s from Sally’s point of view. It also shares her backstory I highly recommend reading it.
Girl just told the story of a murder still holding his victims captive then made us cry with a story of a father who lost his daughter and tries to bring her back.😂 Love it anyway, another great video by milky melodies great job. 👍
This is a perfect prequel to a Nightmare before Christmas. It explains why no matter what Sally did, Doctor Frankenstein forgave her. Cause, she was his actual daughter. It makes him a less of villain to be. A parent would do anything for their child. Amazing song.
It really is sad that Dr. Finklestein is just a grieving father who is willing to risk it all to have his daughter back, but his actions are inexcusable. A part of me is thinking hes sacrificing the descendants of those who killed his daughter rather than random people as an act of revenge too because he died before getting back at the true criminals before he died or whatever
I think even though fincklestien tried to bring his daughter back after she was beheaded due to being accused of being a witch and made a new body from the bodies of three innocent women he stalked and killed due to her original body being burnt 'don't know why they didn't burn her whole body because that's how it usually went', but even he had to realise that although sally's head was his daughters she wasn't his daughter that he knew and loved, and that she's being tormented by the fragmented memories of her body parts made from the dead women who were killed by finklestien.

Yeah, who make the joke first?
She has a backstory reveal in a novel called long live the pumpkin queen
I have that book 😮
@@TessaTheWeirdInternetPerson_XdSame and I love it
What is it about?
I love this story! It's horrible, because what he did, but it's sad by the other hand, because why he did that , he was just heartbroken. Amazing twisted tale, just like always !👏❤
I know that this song is about Sally's backstory, but this gives me a lot of inspiration for a character I'm writing about!
Удачи тебе, я тоже люблю писать истории о персонажах💖
Good luck 💗💓
Fantastic.
This concept is so interesting! I like it better than the origin story they come up in the Nightmare Before Christmas sequel. Love yours songs!
Wow! This video had me at two minds. First that Finkelstein was a monster for how he created Sally, but then a tinge of pity for why he did it.
Sally has a official origin in the book titled long live the pumpkin queen
Yeah, it would be cool if that became the squel to the nightmare before Christmas
@@AngelLionheartits starts with her and jack's wedding so it is a sequel
@jokerlyzermedia6603 Oh, I know, I love the book of it.
Is it actually canon or just another Disney cash grab?
@@FilmmakeroftheFuture its not a cash grab it is REALLY good. There's a lot of emotional angst too.

The fact that we never got a canon backstory for Sally (even after 31 years) is criminal. Tom Burton better rise from retirement and tell us himself!

Great story concept but she actually has a canon backstory in the book “long live the pumpkin queen”
Are you sure that books are canon to the nightmare before the Christmas movie?

We get Sally’s Revamp Origin of how she came to be?!
She was Finklestein’s daughter(Sally is her real name), who died for being mistaken for being a Witch. So after she he died, he goes to the living world to get body parts to resurrect her(her body was burned to ash, while her head was chopped off). He got her arms from a seamstress, her legs from waitress, and her torso from pilate instructor…all them young women. Now she’s haunted by all their memories of their very last terrifying moments. He did some horrible and misguided things, but it was all to bring her back…his precious daughter. Hopefully she can remember it too(the last one was got to be Finklestein’s memory).❤️🩵🪡🤍🖤🧠🎶🥺😢
If Tim Burton watches this and book wasn’t made(before the song was made), this would be great to become canon.☺️👏
Ok I have literally had this on loop for days lol. Don’t know why but I just particularly love this
2:01 I CANT STOP REPLAYING THIS PART
Me too
Agreed
He broke his spine to give her a body...
@@Oscar_Wednesdayno he didnt
This origin story really cuts deeper then you excepted and I feel so sorry for Sally even more.
1:03 that face, though😂
Fr lol
Won’t lie dude that’s pretty cool, gotta love a sorta Creature from the Frankenstein Book kinda origin. It’s cool to focus on more of how body was made to be. The origin of the Creature focuses on the betrayal and hatred he received from his creator Victor Frankenstein and this one focuses more on the horrific ways the women died to create Sally and the guilt or maybe even ghost she is haunted by.
o.o duuuuude the story telling!! This is such an interesting take on the inner workings of their relationship. It's wonderful in all the messed up ways
2:27
Crazy how it shows a loving father and daughter at this.
One who loses everything is a horrifying thing.
Ahh! It’s hereeee! 🎃 I love the Sally’s lore so much!! It’s an honor to work with you on the animatic! ✨
just noticed during the 3 flash backs Finklestein gradually changes after the first victim his lips become red, later his skin is more white (unless that's just me) then finally after the 3rd victim he's in a wheelchair with him having a metal plate on the top half due to the damage he sustained from the fall between him and the 3rd victim
I guess that could explain why he was so protective of her
If you read Long Live The Pumpkin Queen you will change your mind.
What happens in the book?@@leebulger7112
A story about a dad that would do anything to get (his) daughter back
I was literally watching The Nightmare Before Christmas about an hour ago what a coincidence
Same!
Not gonna lie. This quickly became horrifying then suddenly my heart broke for the doctor because all he wanted was his daughter back
There is a book on Sally's origin story which I highly recommend, but I love this just as much if not MORE than her "canon" backstory!
Between this and the book of Sally's origin...I prefer this version!
Okay this was a really cool story/song! ❤️✨💕
Remember a hero will sacrifice everything even their love to save the world, but the villain will sacrifice the world for someone they love.
I have never clicked so fast ib my life. I love nightmare before Christmas and to have her make a song of it. AHHHH
this origin story is much better than the one they gave in Long Live the Pumpkin Queen
I love how the novel long live the pumpkin queen gave us Sally's origin story, but damn, this is way darker and horrifying
At least he was smart choosing victims. Creative hands of a tailor, strong legs of a waitress, and flexible body of a yoga girl.
You know what’s really sad? Dr. Finkelstein pretty much did exactly what those people did to him. Those three women were someone’s daughter too, and maybe even someone’s mother if that little girl we saw belonged to the seamstress.
you should make a part 2, this is really good! (your choice of course)
Aw damn that so good! It also includes how sallys into witchcraft and how frinkelstiens so overprotective of her
There's a book about her origin story. It's called, "Long Live the Pumpkin Queen."
It's amazing!!!
Interesting way to show Sally's origin and how she came to be. Excellent work!
You crafted the narrative so well. I immediately want this as a TNBC prequel.
Ok but this legit made me tear up.
2:00 to 2:27
Fragmented memories

My favorite part of this song❤❤❤❤
I can’t get over the scene of all three ghost comforting Sally💕
Dr. Finklestein and Sally. I actually feel so sorry for them. Such a sad story.
This is a great song! And idk if it’s canon but we technically got a “sequel” in the book Long Live the Pumpkin Queen and Sally’s originals are explored and a bit different. I won’t soiled it though. But I love your interpretation of her origins!
Oh my god , how did I legit never think about this before?
I am so amazed, because I love that you put a flash back of Sally’s origin because what I really love is that you showed how he turned into this because of his daughter😢
Agree it’s a sad fanmade story I felt bad how he loses his daughter once decided to after young women body parts as a replacement for Sally’s old body and always never let her go because he was being overprotective of her I know how he felt he doesn’t want anything bad happened to her because she’s the only family he has
@@rosaguifarro5310 thank you
Always thought sally was just human skin filled with leaves. Patched together from his daughters old corpse. Poison should even work on her right?
What makes it sadder is that he destroyed their relationship in the end.
I thought the song was going to be based on the book "Long Live The Pumpkin Queen" but this backstory's really good.
She could make a different version another time.
@@leebulger7112 True
Please do more songs like this style, i LOVE this song so much, i think its one of my top 3 from you
You know, this made me realize how questionable the mad scientist guy is in this scenario.
She was having flashbacks about the victims that her father had to sacrifice for her 😢😢😢
Woah this is very dark BUT plausible?
Chills throughout the whole songs, you're breath taking on how you took this children story and put it into realism
This is a perfect prequel to a Nightmare before Christmas. It explains why no matter what Sally did, Doctor Frankenstein forgave her. Cause, she was his actual daughter. It makes him a less of villain to be. A parent would do anything for their child. Amazing song.
I'll probably catch hate, but this is *WAY* More interesting than that Pumpkin Queen Book
Unless tim burton wrote that book doesnt count for me
OMG love itt I have always been a fan of Nightmare before Christmas
