Djavan! So talented and sexy! His songs, Stephen's Kingdom and Miss Susanna are my two favorites. His voice absolutely transports me! Thanks for including him in your reactions
there are two songs that are covers of this song. Lee Ritenour's "Asa" in which Djavan sings the entire song and Manhattan Transfer's "The Zoo Blues" in which they reinterpret the lyrics and jazz up, lush up, and funk up the background music. that was the version i never saw coming. there is even an extended dance version of "The Zoo Blues" that is even funkier. Djavan did record a duet with Manhattan Transfer called "Capim" on their "Brazil" album which is very smooth and classy. the original was recorded in 1986, the two covers were recorded in 1987.
Great reaction to my latest Djavan request! Not sure if you recognized the greats Marcus Miller on bass guitar and David Sanborn on sax, both of whose music you’ve reacted to individually plus saw them on the Wayman Tisdale documentary. So all kinds of connections there, including here with the world icon Djavan. 💃🏾🎼🎶🎵♥️
@@wakeupstopsleeping6300 I’m doing ok. Thank you so much for asking. I have some sleeping pills that I’ve been taking so I’m getting way too much sleep. I’m going to stop using them. Other than that I’m fine. I’m cleaning the house to have something to do. My husband has banned me from his office 😊. I pray a lot. My joy is having my children over and cooking big meals. We talk about my nephew and cry. But we are beginning to heal. It’s still a big problem dealing with my sister and brother in-law. But I think the worse part is over - the waiting, the hoping. All of that has been like being stabbed and turning the knife. But our faith is still intact and we all love each other more. And it’s because of people like you, Wake, that I can keep a positive mind. Thank you so much again. You don’t know how important that is to me. 😘❤️🌹😉
Djavan, great artist. Brazilian treasure.
Great band backing him. The late, great Hiram Bullock on guitar. Marcus Miller on bass & David Sanborn on alto-sax.
This IS the BEST Jam I have Ever Heard! Thanks!
A true musical delight, Brazilian greetings.

Só monstros. Maravilhoso. Djavan, feito do Brasil para o mundo.
Essa música é do tempo em que o Brasil podia dizer que tinha música de qualidade.
Djavan is great. Thanks for remembering a brazilian artist.
You’re welcome. I have loved Djavan’s music and persona since I was a teen, so he’s very easy to remember! 😄💃🏾🎼🎶🎵

I like the direction of the choices. A good mix of some of everything. Isn’t that David Sanborn?
