I have created this as a response to the anti lgbt rhetoric about monkey pox. You can’t control sex lives, and don’t act like hookup culture is exclusive to lgbt, it is not, heterosexuals probably do it on an even worse scale. Despite the fact monkey pox isn’t exclusively an STD and there are only like a few thousand cases in the US out of millions of lgbt people. Besides, there’s no concrete proof “gay orgies or hookups” are the main cause of the spread. Even if most victims are lgbt it will not remain that way. A better and more effective solution to this is to advocate for a cure or vaccine, controlling personal lives is not possible. I could understand making fun of someone for getting an STD but they seem much more vicious about it when the person is lgbt, which is inhumane (and you should never make fun of it anyway). And why do you all care so much? But I think I know why they’re doing this. They see lgbt as “liberal” therefore they must “own the libs” in as many ways possible. Not to mention it’s also hypocritical coming from the people that preached about “no masks of vaccines”! Suddenly the political right cares about a disease spread eh? This is not a normal humane response to a disease outbreak like this. If it were children, animals, or even if lgbt was right wing I bet you all would NOT be laughing. I’m sure if you all were on our side you would NOT be laughing either. This rhetoric is quite literally INHUMANE. If someone gets infected that’s on them but it’s not normal to make fun of it, nor is it anyone else’s business. Again, vaccines or cures are a much better solution to a problem like this as it will satisfy both sides in a positive way. There is no “risky or unhealthy” behavior if the disease is cured or vaccinated against. These problems are FIXABLE. I have made this not as an attack because I do not want to be like you all, but as an eye opener for anyone who may now make fun of lgbt people wrongly. I feel this needs to be said because innocent people will be stereotyped, stigmatized, and possibly bullied now for being lgbt because of this awful rhetoric. I believe stigmatization over things like this will do more harm to people than the actual disease will. Stigmatization is NEVER good no matter where it comes from or what it’s based on. I will be sharing this everywhere I see this awful rhetoric so people will hopefully see the light and where they’re wrong about this.
