Ive got 13,000+ miles on my 2023 and its been a blast for ever mile. Great bike. Needs a few things like the emperor racing radiator guards and skib plate. And definitely tires. Stock tires are great in the street In fact I have a set specifically for street riding but suck in the dirt
Thanks for the updates. I have a brand new virgin 2023 KLX300, a pile of new parts, a few more still on order, and then the aim is to make my build as close to 100% dirt worthy as possible without engine or suspension mods. Videos like yours have been really helpful.
Last dual sport I owned from new was an 07 Suzuki DRZ400S. I loved that bike until I was forced to sell it in '18 or '19 due to tough times. But this bike is awesome! Makes me want one.
Frickin awesome! I love Kawasaki and when I get that 300, I am getting mine done up like that! I got a klr650 and KX500 along with ZX12R and GTR1400! ROK !!! Get sum!!! Your 300 is sweet! Great job!
I just installed the Delkevic Exhaust, KDX snorkel and blocked off the pair valve. I can't believe the difference. Thanks so much for all the great information.
Very nice! I am greatly enjoying my KLX as well. For me the necessary mods were skid plate, IMS tank, barkbusters, and protaper bars (stock 7/8"). Future mods will likely be the adventure spec mini fairing (CRF300 one supposedly bolts right on to the triple clamps), and maybe a seat concepts, however I haven't had a sore butt on this bike yet even after driving for a few hours. The stock seat ain't bad.
Thanks for the comment ! The seat on this bike is surprisingly comfortable compared to other bikes. After about an hour on the seat, I start thinking about a seat concepts!
I made a windscreen out of some nice strong plexiglass type material, put a bend in it by heating it up in my oven and it came out way better than I imagined. Keeps all the wind off my body except from my chin up. Makes riding so much better
And I used 4 little nuts and bolts with rubber washers to secure it to the front plastic thing and 2 small rubber support pieces attached to the bark busters to stiffen everything up
I emailed IMS again about a larger fuel tank and they said to check back late in the Summer. They verified that they had received a lot of request for larger tanks. So there is some hope for a 3.5 gallon or larger tank. Your bike looks great! My balls got cut off with the Acerbis hand guards. Watching a guy out of Atlanta (Atl KLX, something like that) he is running shorty levers so I ordered some of those from Amazon. Honda, I wish they’d get the 300 rally bikes in the states.

The best looking KLX30 on UA-cam for sure. Waiting for a CRF300L, but this is making me think to go Green. My wife now has a KLX230s, nice bike love driving it.
Thank you! I have a new crf300L on order, I will be building it as soon as it arrives, I’ll try to make it the best on the tube also. Thanks for watching!!
You're right about the stock rear fender. It looks horrible. That idea looks way better. The EJK tuner with a full exhaust system really woke up my KLX300R. Same with my friends Supermoto version. He used a Yosh system. I hand made my system. Great bikes, though. I kind of wish I got the dual sport instead of the R. Your DRZ was a sweet build, too. That's how I found your channel. I like all the attention to detail you put into it. I'm on my second DRZ E, myself. Still think it's one of the best trail bikes ever made. Anyway, nice job on the bikes and the videos!
So I just bought a 2023 klx300 like a month ago and I’m brand new to bikes….I went out riding yesterday with my dad and I rode pavement, dirt road, then pretty much steep single track. The bike is stock and seems to handle everything great until you get onto steep off-road terrain. I was going up a hill in first and was going kinda slow and the bike bogged out in first. I am pretty sure I need a regear to lower gears and open the bikes air intake and exhaust then a fuel tune. I will primarily be riding steep off road but I still want the bike to be able to get around on the highway (not interstate) at like 60-65. Any input and advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the video KC and everyone in the community of klx300’s I appreciate everyone!
The 13 tooth front sprocket is going to be the best mod for you, you’ll get better bottom end for hills, but still be able to do the 60-65mph. Procycle.com has the sprocket, you have to search under klx250s menu

Thank you for the excellent videos KC! Wondering if you have ever had an issue blowing the fuse for the headlight and running lights after upgrading to an LED headlight? I recently upgraded to a Tusk LED headlight. Thanks in advance KC!
18:48 you mentioned you didn’t have any issue with spark plug snorkel exhaust, and you aren’t using an EJK tuner. So I’m assuming your not getting any deceleration pops or backfires? I also remember one of your videos you mentioned removing your PAIR valve. Do you think that has anything to do with your lack of engine issues? I feel like I’ve heard of people having issues after installing exhaust with the engine backfiring and popping and that removing the pair valve eliminated that issue
Deleting PAIR valve will take care of decel pop. Even with it still connected, there’s only minor popping until engine gets to temp. I forgot to mention in vid that mine is disconnected.
I have a sensitive ass, but it is a very comfortable seat IMO. If I were doing rides of which I was seated for more than an hour, then I may go Seat Concepts.
So is your O2, and pair valve removed? Also what year of KDX did you get the snorkel from? I just picked up my new 300 on Saturday. I’m thinking of going with the Yoshimura exhaust but your seems nice for the $$$. Thanks
Hey KC...trying to install some bar risers by Kemimoto, 30mm, 7/8" handlebar. No matter how much I tighten them, the handlebars won't stay in place. Did I get the wrong size for the stock handlebar?
I think I know what I did wrong. A UA-cam video said to put the washer on the bolt between the top of the riser and the bottom of the top mount. I think that was wrong because that would make the space for the handlebar larger.

Have you had any issues with the temp light coming on? I’ve only put 300 miles on my 2023 so far and it’s happend twice. Both were driving slow thru rough trails it would go off and I noticed the fan wouldn’t be running. After turning it off for a bit it would be out when I restarted and doesn’t come on while riding around I guess from air pushing thru the radiator. Seen other people talk about this issue but wanted your input.
I haven’t had any temp issues yet. I have done several low speed hot weather trail rides , with plenty of fan cycles. I did check my coolant levels when bike was new. In the radiator & rear reservoir.
What moose rack is that exactly? I’ve been looking for something just like that. Great video! If I can find that rear fender in black I think I’ll do the same setup!
