Trent you need another MIC for you. Would be nice to hear your crap-pot comments!, HILARIOUS !!, sometimes we have to guess what your saying with that new MIC setup, Dad is coming in clear as can be. Not sure how and what setup you have and costs associated with it, but I think it would be awesome to hear you clear as a bell also. Just a thought. Maybe Dad wants you to not be heard! so much !!

Sitting here in the UK I have no idea what I have just watched, the way you know what everything is and where it goes just boggles my mind. Lol. As a teenager I once looked inside a 1967 Vauxhall Viva gearbox with the thoughts of trying to fix it, I thought that was complicated, went straight to the scrapyard and bought one off a wrecked car. Great videos keep fixing them and passing your knowledge on.
I wish I had my 75 power wagon still. I’d send the 727 to your shop quick! It had been rebuilt twice. Did not last very long the first time. I went to a local shop in Fairbanks Alaska where I was stationed and the shop I brought it to shafted me pretty good. The second time a friend of a friend in fox county worked on it and I had no issues. I later sold the truck to a fellow soldier at my duty station because it was too expensive to ship it back to the lower 48. Contacted the guy I sold it to a few years later and he said the transmission was going out and he had sold the truck. I miss that beautiful truck. Wish I had kept it and sent the transmission to y’all!
I rebuilt my 4L60E years ago for my Roadmaster wagon. I remember at 20 minutes those plastic rings, I think I used a seat clamp, but was thinking you could use a piston ring compressor. Anyway I had one failure on the test drive, the oil pump snapped (part driven by converter). So I got a heavier duty oil pump and was fine ever since. There was a big shell drum had a crack running hallway around it where it meets a shaft, and used an updated stronger drum. And one of the shift coils was open. I did all the upgrades and made good use of the ATSG manual for it. Still working good.

I have used the plastic off a soft drink bottle so I could slide them on without cutting the Teflon rings. It seems that they conform to the shape of the housing after a while because it's the same as the Teflon crankshaft oil seals in a Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine where the engine must sit for 4 hours before the engine is filled with oil and/or started because the Teflon sealing lip conforms to the shape of the rear crankshaft seal journal or the journal of the harmonic balancer !
First tranny I ever did was a 4l60e I bought the truck with a blown tranny and had no money to buy a new tranny so I bought a rebuilt kit. I remember one of the clutch packs still had a date printed on the actual clutch material even after having 130k miles on it I couldn’t believe it. The 3/4 clutches were burnt. It worked great for 3 years until the one planet blew out. I’m sure the washers we’re probably gone on the planet but I didn’t know any better to check them. I remember getting it almost back together just about to put the pump on and I found the anti clunk spring (or whatever it’s called) was on the bench so I had to take it back apart. I had no idea where it went this was back when UA-cam was pretty new so I watched videos for hour’s until I found a video showing it lol
I was really thinking there be a lot of damage to clutches and steels and nothing looked terrible bad. After you pulled the planetary out and I could see that damage. I was impressed and that wasn’t a catastrophic failure that was run making noise for awhile. People don’t realize that every mile they put on after the transmission has a problem equals dollar signs.
I would love to see the rebuild and how it drives after .. that thing was destroyed .... it’s awesome to see your depth of knowledge when it comes to these builds .. God Bless
This transmission reminds me of my old 76' Cutlass, had a TH-350 and it brokeup at low speed, I drove it all the way home to my carport and it never moved again, had to tow it and the guy said that it had fused the planet into the back of the case, he couldnt even take it all the way apart. had to get another case, that was around 1992, cost $675 bucks back then to get it all fixed with the cost of tow included.
If my trans ever blows. I'm just sending it to you. As one mechanic to another. I appreciate the attention to detail and the effort to do a damn good job.
@Achronic Deth 1700 miles and the extra $1000 in gas and tolls don't seem to be that much extra when you factor in the added extra use you will get.

When I saw your grin at the very beginning I knew this one was going to be great!
124👍's up precision transmission thanks again for taking us all along with you for the great show
I hope, before I die, to be half as good at ANYTHING as this man is in rebuilding transmissions.
I love it. Fluid smells pretty dark. I fully understand that statement.
Would love to watch you do a couple of rebuilds l, thanks for the time you spend on youtube 😊
Excellent teardown of a blown trans. Surprised more wasn't destroyed!
Please do a build episode, interested in how you put one together.
I would love to see the rebuild and how it drives after .. that thing was destroyed .... it’s awesome to see your depth of knowledge when it comes to these builds .. God Bless
Adjustable planetary set! Thats some high-performance equipment right there!
Wow, what a mess. I would love to see him put this together. Amazing works.
REALLY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE ,
If you ever strip out one of those pump bolts just fill in the star with a mig and weld a nut onto the head of the bolt, works like a charm!!
You always have top notch videos. You definitely know your 5#!+.
Incredible. Thanks again for the videos
