people give jvne crap for the samples such as that 911 call, but personally i think its supposed. to show the impact that that sui has on people. people know that 1nce youre gone youre gone, but not exaclty how others around you would feel, so jvne puts you in the position of the "others" witnessing the death in a sense while i personally dont like the general concept of using a 911 call as an album intro, this instance of it speaks to me because i actually used to go by the name nicky when i was younger, and even though i was never in that kind of position, that kind of an intro, followed by a bunch of soothing music, communicates a message of going forward and moving on in life no matter what hardships i face. in fact, i might even consider this jvne's best work.
👏👏 I could not agree more! At first I was mortified of the intro. But I listen to it a lot, to just remind me of how bleak a fast ending to life is. How much it hurts for everyone. And remembering that, with the rest of the album… I can’t describe how it feels. Like just a confirmation of hope. The darkness in the beginning showcasing the immediate results of doing it, and the rest of the songs are chill and ambient with heavy bass. It’s a message, you are still here. You made it. Each song is like living a new day and remembering the beginning of the album. And the titles being dedicated to jvnko is good detail. It’s a good way to show how the world is. Harsh, but it sends the message DIRECTLY into your mind. I understand that’s hard for some people to take. But for me, deep messages that hit you, make the music better.
The intro forces you to stare at the immense darkness that is real life. Whether or not it is moral to use a real life 911 call, art is meant to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.
I understand why you removed the intro, but I decided to listen to it anyways and continue on this video, and the intro puts you in what i think is the proper mindset for this, its pretty hard to listen to understandably but it also just gives the rest of the album a different feel.
@@adamangeles9570 the point of that intro has alwayd been, to me, to highlight the immediate and lasting consequences of ending your life. Your suffering isn't gone, it's just put on someone else now.
@@adamangeles9570 "Don't be afraid of dying" is Jvne saying to not be afraid of taking the plunge, making a major change in your life. It said in the original description something along the lines of: "this album is dedicated to my old self, I wish you'd died sooner". Likely referring to herself prior to coming out as trans. It's not an album about not fearing suicide, it's an album about letting go and taking the next step forward. Or so at least that's how I like to think about it.

People give her so much crap, but she was just a teen making such good music. As teens tends to be edgy, nothing wrong with that. She matured a lot. Also, she never uploaded any real life gore, that was drawn. And loli art is not illegal either, Maybe a bit untasteful. Also how many shitty metal bands get away with that, sampling worse shit, having worse covers. Cancel culture is cancer. Mayhem having IRL gore on covers, but that's ok, it's black metal right? Fuck that. It's suppose to be dark, depressing and weird.
i agree with all of this except for the loli part. hard pass, "a bit untasteful" a HUGE understatement when talking about loli/shota shit when loli is essentially just sugar coated pedophilia, it's fucking disgusting regardless of whether or not it's legal
@@tokemetal666 yeah some people really show there true colors when putting into wording like that 🤣 underplaying that its literally art for pedophiles.
This is absolutely beautiful, thank you for saving this gem of an album. Jvnko's art made me reflect and realize that i am trans and push me through my roughest dysphoric epidodes to this day so that's definitely something to cherish.
i also dont know why many people give her a hard time, because she makes music. some dont agree with the term breakcore she gives to her own music, i noticed... with that there is influence of emo, but maybe this girl really wasnt comfortable in her own skin. at least she expresses herself. does her thing, doesn't follow the hype. as long as she can get rid of her feelings, express them and feel some relief. she shouldn't not be bothered about.
Is this the album with the girl crying about her dead brother intro? That really made me not wanna listen to the album because I knew it was an actual recording, the crying is absolutely harrowing.
yes it is. It didn't make me want to listen either, but in all honestly it saved me from killing myself because I didn't want to imagine something like my mother or father having to go through the same pain that women had to go through
It's fucking sobering though. While obviously it's not supposed to be listened to over and over, it's a dark piece of reality that hits home when you do. Ask odd as it sounds to say it, I appreciate listening to it. For me, personally, it helped rationalize some bad thoughts I'd have from time to time, so this grim reminder was harsh, but necessary.
