Great reaction i have heard this song many times and still break at the father's line. I have always wanted my father to even just accept me but i guess never will as he was called Home early this month but thank God i have loving godparents
When my son was deployed, we sent care packages about once a week. He is a blackhawk pilot and sometimes there was a lot of down time. Pilots are only allowed to fly a certain number of hours before they have to take a rest. His wife and I put together a package of toys. We sent footballs, marbles, table top corn hole, darts. Everything we could find to keep them occupied either inside the hangar, or outside. We had a blast putting it together. My son said the guys all loved it. We were going to send squirt guns and super soakers, but thought we shouldn't send anything that looked like a weapon. For holidays, we would send themed boxes. When my daughter in law was deployed, I sent her a "Birthday Party in a box" and even lined the box with wrapping paper. It had party hats, streamers, microwave mug cakes for her and her buddies, confetti, and balloons. She was deployed for a year to Poland. She is a nurse and they were opening up a military hospital. When my husband was deployed in Desert Storm, all he wanted was decent food!!! MREs leave a lot to be desired. I still have all the letters we wrote back and forth to each other.
The 'father' being the strong silent type and having a hard time expressing his feelings, very much reminds me of my own Dad. Also, we're film flipped as "The Little Girl" is my second fave. However, I sometimes forget how many truly great songs John Michael had.---#UTRCM
@jacobherricks6951 Hey Jacob, I just re-did the song and took the video from Warner Music's channel, and it wasn't blocked. It will post today at 2:30 EST. Thanks for hanging in there!
I remember my momma sending a care package to the other side of the world. A buddies wife sent a huge box full of popcorn, candy, cookie, and almost at the bottom a package he’d not been home to take care of. Out platoon had been sharing it then he got to the package inside a ziplock bag, a dirty diaper. That must have been in “92
@11thrnk Holy shit, you guys must have burst out laughing when your buddy opened up the bottom package and saw it was was a dirty diaper!! OMG, that’s one of the best stories I’ve ever heard!!
It's amazing how the stars align sometimes because this song came on my Pandora on my way to work this morning and during the last verse I was thinking this would be a good song for you to react to.

Every guy or girl in the world wants their dad to be proud of him and that's why this song hits us so hard
I love this song. The verse that hits me the hardest is always the father's letter

Thanks Jacob for this request. My favorite JMM song, kinda leaves you speechless!!!--#UTRCM
It's my second favorite of his. My first is the little girl
I really enjoyed this particular reaction. I urge everyone to take a moment to thank a Veteran or those serving now. It’s easy to do.
No comment really needed. It’s all in the song.
Letters from home means more than you can know my friend!🐕🦺🇺🇲
I think one great Waylon song you haven't reacted is Drinking and Dreaming.
