Schostakowitsch Piano Sonata No. 2 in B minor Opus 61

SCHUMANN, CHOPIN, BACH-SILOTI
This is the superlative level of interpretation and pianistic craftsmanship. Gilels was born with the only mission to play the piano, there are few like him.
You are totally right
@@MariaEskelinen Thank you for your kind approval. You would be a pianist? I am just an amateur violinist and I worship the vast ocean which is Bach.
The greatest composer of all time.
Gilels, Richter, Michelangeli quanto ci mancate!
The best !
what a miracle! Never have seen it before! Thank you for this recording
Same here, I thought I would be stuck forever in this other version where his hands were not filmed while playing this wonder.
Simply wonderful!
Magnifique !
Perfection by the master
3 masters at play here: Bach the genius, Aleksandr Zilote who wrote this beautiful arrangement, and Emil Gilels giving us a heavenly interpretation
@@gijsschubert7901 yes I absolutely agree .
*Thanks for the upload. We must save it for the future generations.*
Thank you for uploading this performance.
Yes!....Thank you for uplouding this master piece. ❤
Grande!!
Wonderful
Magic 😍
Toujours un plaisir de l'écouter !
Mesmerizing, eloquent, peerless.
One of Gilels's favourite encores. Was the whole concert recorded?
❤
Second part so beautiful
Браво!👏👏👏Bravo!👏👏👏🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Post the whole concert, please!
Thanks
Alvaro Fernandez-Bravo Casado Scherzkeks.....
Amazing, such control
What a sad loss Gilels was. A remarkable pianist, nay an astonishing musician. The Soviet Union of this era had some outstanding musicians but for me Gilels is supreme with only Richter close.
Thank you for your kind words about our Soviet piano school! It was unsurpassed art... I advise you to listen to Tatyana Nikolaeva and Maria Yudina.
Wow!!!! Is there any more?!
A different version of the prelude in E minor from WTK 1
The best
Interesting to know who are the five idiots that disliked this music.
They may have not Like THE INTERPRETATION , or have accidently pressed a thumb down.
classy fellow
The first half* left hand without aerpeggios. ?
Obviously
Yes. That is the tradition well-established with this piece. Carl Fischer has published an anthology of Siloti transcriptions, including this one, and much attention is paid to the question you raise.
Thanks
DIOS
Thank you for uploading, but the 'digital hiss' is a disgrace.......
feel free to remove it anytime, if you are so smart......
Why is it in B minor?

I´d like to know, what version this is. It is far longer, then the one, I can find - and different.
It is played through twice - the second time it is voiced differently.
Yes, like mentioned, it's played twice. First time with emphasis on the left hand, 2nd with the right hand.
@@aftermanyasummer2585 It's more the opposite, although it's a bit more complex than dividing into hands.
*The second version sounds very interesting to me.*
