The way you created that gradient on his forehead murdered me with pleasure. I want to learn that.

This is just so awesome and I miss watching your videos on UA-cam. I would love to see more tutorials/Videos on drawing characters in perspective and buildings/Objects. Foreshortening is a really big one I would love to see as well along with drawing multiple characters on a page.

It's so amazing how you do the gradients so precisely with only 6 stabilization.
I've spent quite some time drawing digitally, but still can't pull it off without some help from line smoothing tools.
Thank you for sharing your art, this'll help me a lot.

Fabulous work Robert !.. 👍 💖 🕊 ... and I agree 100% !.. Inking is not easy, but when you struggle, remember this : you're learning !.. and that's fine !.. one advice : try several software, tweek your setup, try not pushing too hard on the pen : work with a light hand !.. try new settings : in the tablet driver and within the software you're using ... Try several brushes with different settings and you will find what will suit to you !.. it's a matter of taste and comfort !.. the best device I own for inking is the Wacom cintiq 13 hd : I have many devices but it's the one for me !.. and Clip Studio Paint is a wonderfull software that makes inking a pleasure !.. 😁 Thank you Robert for all you're doing, I always recognize your Artwork, no doubt, you're a master !.. 😉

Nice video! How do you know when to change the appearance of the feathering lines? I see many different feathering techniques. Is it more of a style choice?

Why couldn't you just draw the line work and then change the color of everything to black. It seems like the inking is just going over the work straightening out the drawing.

Your work is so clean. I'm so impressed. I've been using a tablet and photoshop for decades, but I can't imagine getting these kind of clean lines. My experience is in raster images and photomanipulation.

What software do you use for your digital art?

  • @Locrum

I've had a hell of a time trying to find a program I like to ink in. Everything looks so rasterized with aliasing artifacts. I'm thinking that maybe I just need a supper huge image to work on? It's already a rather large file, maybe I'm just always zooming in too much. Just grabbed the brushes on gumroad, and liking them.
