Just came across this again and a delightful reaction. I can't really put it into words but there are some moments there later in the reaction where you've really started to zoom in and lock in with her voice, and then you start to have these really great insights and just look on your face listening to some of it is really cool.
My favorite version of "Hallelujah". It has become my favorite song of all-time! When Lucy rocks back and forth you know she's into it!

I have been a fan of Lucy for some time now and I absolutely love her voice,. I am so hooked on her I can listen to her songs over and over again. My first favourite I heard her sing was Memory when she was about 14, now I have lost count. I can't describe how I feel about her voice, smooth, velvety, silky, strong, pitch perfect just absolutely beautiful. Yes she is a very beautiful young lady as well.

Loved your reaction to what I feel could potentially be someone who goes far in the global music industry. I think you summed up this talented young artist very well, it’s not only her amazing vocal ability, although no doubt that is a very large part of it, ok she is attractive which doesn’t hurt for sure, but to me when she performs it brings out something unique to Lucy Thomas, something really lovely, sincere and humble, each cover has the Lucy stamp on it, that ability to really move me and stir up my emotions as intended by the songs author.

Lucy also recently covered Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’. As you will know this is a beautiful love song written by the prolific Diane Warren and expertly delivered as an iconic rock ballad by Steve Tyler and his boys. For an 18 year old girl to cover it and, as you might say, knock it out the park is mind blowing. What an incredibly talented and beautiful young lady she is. I honestly believe that Lucy’s cover of ‘Hallelujah’ is the most wonderful thing I have heard in my 70+ years on this planet. I also loved your reaction. It was honest as well as very informative and insightful and I really appreciate how you pause the video only at the appropriate times to make valid points. You now have a new subscriber and admirer from Scotland. 👏🏴

It must be wonderful, having the knowledge and ability to analyze Lucy's performance like this, and yet...
My only qualification is NOT being tone-deaf, so I just sit back and enjoy. Whatever it is that Lucy does when she sings, it goes straight to my heart, my soul. Goosebumps and unexpected emotions every time! Most important, I always feel better after listening to Lucy (and her little sister, for that matter). Angelina Jordan is actually the only other artist that manages to make me feel this way. They are in a class of their own in my mind.

To me, it's apparent that Lucy's parents and vocal coach are phenomenal - I've done a bit of sound engineering for some fantastic vocalists, Lucy is way, way way above the talent curve, imo! Thank you Lucy for consistent, great interpretations of so many great vocal songs! I'd recommend her to contact Andre Rieu, maybe some collaboration between them can occur in the next few years!

Hallelujah is not really my type of song, however I do like Lucy’s version. 👍 Discovered it some time ago while watching her many other fabulous cover songs. ‘Run’ is another example where again Lucy is far better than the original. 👍
If you like the ‘Prayer’ then yes you must watch Lucy and Martha performing that, I’m sure you will enjoy it. 🤗 But I’d also look all her covers, as she demonstrates that she is the remarkable singer.
Correct Lucy is also in the production of ‘Rosie’ the musical where she’s singing original songs. ‘Broken Dreams’ is my particular favourite so far.

I am amazed by all her power and belt particullay in All By Myself, but when she goes into that sweet sound she has I start fanboying at 72 years old, my favourite is La Vie En Rose outstanding.
The Prayer is also special Marths is 5 years younger so around 12 Lucy is 17 quite stunning.

Yep; The Prayer is pretty special. Also some of Lucy’s latest covers as well as originals from a new musical (Rosie, production to be released 2024) are top class.

Lucy has some older songs from the musical Rosie. Suddenly is done really well. The complete title escapes me but I know Ghosts is in the title. You could spend a couple of months reacting to everything Lucy and Martha has done. And I would watch everyone. She and Martha are that good.👍❤️🌹

I'm just a music lover, not a coach or even a singer myself, but as a music fan I have to say in all humility that I disagree with your comment on her lower range. To me, that sounded effortlessly right on! I heard no struggle to reach and sustain those notes. They come out full and so warm! It feels to me like a caress before blowing my mind off with her power in the upper range. That contrast and the ease with which she can so gracefully travel all the way from the chest to the head voice gives me goose bumps every time.

In the future, I'd love to see how Lucy goes in an operatic production. Would she have the technique to fill an opera theatre without amplification?
She is still very young and hopefully has a long way to travel on her vocal journey.

Common now!! Listen to her. Just listen. This is UNBELIEVABLE. She is one of the best singers I have EVER heard. She is right there with Adele and Whitney Houston. I love how she uses her body and facial expressions to get into her music. I'm assuming she is huge in Europe but she needs to hit that American trail. Could you imagine how she would be next to Ariana Grande singing a song together.

Juliet, whether artistic choice or not, going up an octave puts Lucy's voice into a beautiful spot. As-far-as the ending with the light sound, she does that quite a bit in her renditions. After belting she kind of comes back down to earth. Very pleasant and restful at the end. It seems to get a deep inner reaction when I hear those last notes.
I enjoyed watching both videos you presented on Lucy.
"Let the girl shine..." is one of the most beautiful small phrases I ever red about Lucy! She is the brightest star and we all want her to shine brighter than everyone else! She shines into everyones heart and is for sure one of the best singers on earth. Every of her songs is a wonderful piece of perfection and warms up my heart - no matter how cold it is outside... To visit one of her concerts is finally on my bucket-list! Lucy's version of Hallelujah is by fat the best ever!!! I wrote to over 20 Radiostations in Switzerland to hear Lucy over the air - and I will not stop doing so... 🥰
There is an Easter version of Hallelujah that Lucy sings with her sister Martha that was taken down by Samsung. I wish you could have heard it. It was outstanding also!

Dear Vocal Coach. We all loved this, but compare it with her new from the Manchester concert. The 4 years of maturity, well enough said. I am 76, heard them all. Sinatra is fine wine for males, and I rank Lucy on top in females. God gave her the entire package. My only question, how tall is Lucy?
When you mentioned that the key change was adding something different to the song, I believe this version was based upon the way Alexandra Burke sang the song. Alexandra won UK's X-Factor and sung this song in the final and this was her 1st chart hit too.

I think one of Lucy’s more recent songs, Broken Promises, is exceptionally well done. You might find it worth a listen.

Very beautiful! She can absolutely sing beyond comparison. However, after hearing the live recording by Emma Kok, it is indeed a perfect fabricated studio production but nothing more. Emma Kok's voice is not as perfect in a live recording, but she really touches your heart with this song❤. Emma does not act, she lives the song.

This is a parsimonious and predjudiced comment about Lucy's video performance and one that Lucy supporters would rightly be up in arms about. Perhaps you should look at the video recording of Lucy's first live public concert version of Hallelujah at the Stoller Hall in Manchester earlier this year - to be found on her YT channel, LucyThomasMusic! To suggest that Lucy is not fully invested in any and all of her video and live performances, and is just acting, is an insult to both Lucy and her supporters. Allied to her impeccable vocal skills, the passion with which she performs is just one of the reasons, perhaps the main reason, why she commands such vehement respect and loyalty from her supporters. You may have an ulterior motive in promoting Emma Kok, but why do it at the expense of downgrading the performance of someone who is probably the finest vocalist to emerge this century!
@michaelhingley4770 I fully understand why Lucy has many supporters. She sings fantastic. However, music is also about feeling, and I just don't feel it by Lucy. When you or anyone else does feel it, fine by me. I didn't want to offend Lucy's
supporters and certainly not Lucy herself. I gave my opinion and I was curious about the reactors opinion about Emma's version.

Personal opinion is, of course, subjective, but to make the claim that one vocalist is merely 'acting' and the other 'lives the song', is palpable nonsense, when they are both 'acting'. It is only your emotional reaction to two renditions of the same song that creates any difference.
Lucy supporters feel the same about her cover videos, but rarely make detrimental comparison with the original artists, because it would be futile to do so when her renditions stand on their own merit.
