I'm from Akwa Ibom and I grew up to listening to this song when I was a little boy and the song made me learn Igbo language I speak and write today.
I am from kogi state , this men songs made me to take a decision of marrying an igbo lady from the south and today I am happily, legally and joyfully married to an igbo lady from awka north in anambra state and we celebrated our fort child last week
My late parents used to listen to and sing these songs. Tears rolling down my eyes. They left us too early, too young. RIP mom and dad

Danced to this music in 1975/1976 as a boy in Lagos those days and the music meaningfulness has remained iconic and evergreen as at today Wednesday April 12, 2023.

Who’s listening 👂in 2023
All the comments here can make a grown man, who witnessed all that has been said about this song, emotional.
I'm from Ukwuani and this song keeps the memory of my late father Chief John Chukwuma.. Rest on Dad🙏
The best of NIGERIAN songs came in the 60,70,and 80.
70s/80s, my dad will always go to Umuahia on hearing new release from Oriental Brothers. My dad had all the albums then. He will put the speaker of his celebrated turn table on a clay water pot for real sound... Oh! Any time I listen to Oriental music, the memory of my dad envelopes me. Hail Oriental Brothers, Hail the Igbo prowess.
I love youtube soo much, often people address non western music as "obscure" which completely ignores the fact that this was popular music and soo many people have built such tender and important memories around it. I think as music lovers it's important to search for the original context and culture the music comes from. Thanks to everyone sharing their stories and memories about this beautiful music❤️
Song of my youth at Naija parties in NY. It was our traditional song at our wedding. When we came out to this song, everybody jumped up & we got sprayed with thousands of dollars! Oriental Brothers Forever!
This song reminds me of a big friend from Nigeria during my childhood. He used to invite me over to his house for dinner and one day he was listening to this song while I was there. Denise was his name he told me stories about the war in Nigeria while the song was playing. This memory is in my mind after 45 years. This guy some how left Ndop and I never heard of him again. I wish I could know his whereabout.
The instrumentation and the vocalist complement themselves so much that one doesn't want the music to come to an end. This is a pure classic. The music is also very meaningful and sends a clear message.
I'm from Edo state I don't understand what he's saying but anytime I listen to the legends Oriental brothers it always boost my moral
This track qualifies as a gospel music.
Man this was my dads favorite song he always used to play it when I was small and he would start dancing and it always made me smile. He died from cancer earlier this year. But I honestly wish this song had more popularity and views.
