They remind me of my root and great impact these set of music had on my people, the Igbos as they were recovering from the trauma of the civil war. It remind me of my childhood when my dad relaxes with these any time he comes from work in the evening.
2:46 My question is why has the government of Imo State not yet named a street in Owerri after the Oriental Brothers? These guys made us proud through their music. The government should do the right thing by immortalizing their name.
Powerful rendition! very nostalgic. growing up days. what an explosive African highlife music. danceable, meditative and enjoyable. Vintage Sir warrior. Sleep well in the great beyond! yes,too much drink, too much money. carry go.
Heard melodies are sweet, but unheard melodies are sweeter. Ebele m, is not from here, it's immortal. You laugh, you sober, you cry... Ebele m is a liquid story and flows. Ebele m connects us home. Much like home, home is better. Oh! God, Chukwu Okike Abịa ama, may this stream of healing never cease. Warrior !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though I'm not Igbo and do not understand what he is saying, the song and memories of listening to this song in Benin City as a young man brought tears to my eyes. He is truly the best Nigerian musician ever.
I love all warrior and oriental brothers music. It used to be my late dad's music in those good old days. The music reminds me of my late dad each time I listen to it.

Sir Warrior is a Legend who sang songs with a great human consience and fear of God that is why his music still lives and breaths . We all miss him today .
Sir Dr Worrior, you lived a true music worrior. With your prudent music you conquered and are still conquering many unhappy times for so many people worldwide. Thanks for your healing music.

RIP Dede Warrior. You and your band gave joy and consolation millions of our people. Thanks for the great pride yourself and your generation gave to the Igbo Nation after the genocidal civil War. Thanks for not allowing the Nigerian Vandals led by the brutal hate-driven Hausa-Fulani and the Yoruba to take away our joy.

They thrilled the Easterners with their music after coming out from a brutal war on Man's inhumanity to Man. Their music was they only thing that comforts our people at that time to forget they pains of their losses. They were indeed the best then and Osita Osadebe as well.
"Their music was they only thing that comforts our people at that time to forget they pains of their losses". That statement is an absolute falsehood that does neither edify the Igbo nor Oriental Brothers Band. Why some Igbos manufacture senseless and needless crutch grabbing tales over the war is something that psychologists need to study. Oriental Brothers, a great band without a doubt, didn't come on the music scene until about 1974, four years after the war and within which period lots of Igbo people had bounced back like the strong people they are. Before Orientals came on the scene, there were multiple Igbo musicians and bands that were strong and with hit records -- Peacocks International, Eastern Minstrels, Celestine Ukwu, Osita Osadebe, Paulson Kalu, and a host of others. This story of Orientals giving Igbos succor after the war is not just false, it is also stupid; it serves neither the Igbo nor Oriental Brothers any good.
29:03:2024. (13:55GMT) Cruising on board EgyptAir from Manchester to Cairo enroute KSA.. and I'm listening yet again to this evergreen masterpiece orchestrated by the baritonic voice of Dr Sir Warrior. Later he defected & formed his own band. Followed by Dan Satch who was caught also by the defection fever, whilst Sir Warrior inherited the most part of "IKWOKILIKWO" style & Oriental Brothers. Ebelem was one of the best hits in Africa then. The impact of all these made ""IKWOKILIKWO" a big African heritage cming across the Bantou, Mbaqanga, Benga & a slize of high life rythms.
Kabaka was not here. Dan Satch was. Kabaka left earlier. All the same, Warrior was Oriental, and Oriental was Warrior. After the split, Warrior continued, and Dan satch fizzled out.
