I think it has to do with something of a sense of community. I personally don't really want to hang out with people who I don't vibe with, but how do I know if I will vibe with someone I don't even give an effort too?? That's the greatest mystery in the universe. LOL. Nah, but I think it really does have something to do with a sense of community. I was also bullied for being a small shy asian back in elementary school. That deterred me from opening myself up to any other race besides asian. I also see through people's bs and I don't want their bs on top of my bs. 2 bs don't add up.

I agree growing up I had Asian friends but for the most part each group hung out together. BUT I’ve seen Asian friends invite out the white friends before any other ethnic group person. I don’t think there is anything wrong with cliques but it shows even within choices of intimate relationships. FYI I grew up on the east coast and didn’t do drugs or drank in high school.

As an Asian, it is probably an american thing because i often hear about races or ethnicities being put in their 'own neighborhoods'... as for here in the netherlands we are all forced to live with eachother and that explains why i had dutch friends maroccan friends turkish friends, surinamese friends, Curacaoan friends, somali friends, afhgani friends, vietnamese friends.... my friend group was really diverse... but unfortunately seggragation is happening more and more here too... for some reason cities are trying to group people based on ethnicities while everything before was just doing fine...
PS. Anthony said that because he saw that other ethnicities hung with eachother, he had the feeling he HAD to be friends with an asian guy if he was there. I was the opposite, i could kinda sense when an other asian wanted to hang out because our eyes look the same and it would make me uncomfortable. 😂
Literally same! I'm from Germany and this Asian with Asian thing can only happen in America because there are just so many Asians lol. I mean at my whole school we probably had only around 10 SEA and EA including myself haha

Here in Brazil there is also this thing about lots of Asians hanging out together. I don't really like it, they all behave alike, like a big blob of several stereotypes or something, it's almost like they lack a bit of personality. Plus, I don't like this kind of segregation, it feels weird. So although I know a few of them, I don't hang out like that and in the end, I have a more diverse friendship circle too.
It's cause usually they only want to hit on my sister and disc our food 😅

This Asian with Asian can mostly been seen in America because I think it's just comfortable. Here in germany we really don't care where you're from (to form friendships! There are still hella racist people out here lol). I think it's just that in America most people identities are based on their ethnicity and there are a lot of asians who can hangout around only with each other whereas in germany we don't necessarily hang out with our own folks because we don't simply have THAT many asian haha But in the end I just think it's more comfortable to be surrounded by your own people.
