Each day young people start this career! Each video is teaching! In my 30 years of teaching I tell the technicians if you learn 1 thing it’s worth your time! All your videos do the same thing! Thank you
Chrysler and all the flavors have had ground and power connector issues since the 60s! You would think the engineers would have fixed that! Eric never stop. This just shows how often it is the same problem. Good job!
Eric, whether you believe it or not, you are a daily hero. A true hero. You literally save lives each and every day. Whether it the driver, another driver, a passenger, or one of us doing the same. You prevent death and mayhem just by doing things right and insisting on doing it right or not at all. Keep on keeping on!
This is where the customer pays for your experience. Don’t forget to charge for that. And there is the overhead and cost for tools and a new scanner every couple years. Been there Eric!
My wife’s car is a 2017 patriot with the big 2.4. Same exact grounds. I checked them all after watching your videos. They all look good no problems with the car. I sprayed them all with fluid film about 6 months ago. I learn so much from watching your work. I am thinking it will help keep the old Jeep running better and longer. Thx u Eric
I think I can speak for everybody just about when I can say you're mundane is a hell of a lot more interesting to watch. Even if it's a rinse and repeat I still learn from watching you work I especially like the approach on how to test.
Eric, even if we've seen it before we still would like to see it again. While it is the content, it is also the process and interaction. Dont fret about videos that are similar. Those of us who look for your videos for 'how to fix my junk' videos can also search, but don't stop posting because you think they're redundant.... We'll watch all of them.
May be a rinse and repeat video, but always something to learn and I haven't even watched it yet. Thank you Mr. O. for puting videos out for us all to watch for entertainment, learing etc never gets old.
Mr. O., watching his own video: Wow! This guy is really good! I wonder who he is?? Mr. O., answering his own question: Well, of course of know him; he's me!
I never worked on Autos (except minor easy tinkering), but Airplanes all my career. It never ceased to amaze me when I was a repair tech that an engineer would be lazy and place all the grounds in one place. When I became a design engineer, I made sure I didnt do that. I bet one day this video will save someone a crap ton of money. Good Job sir, Im glad I found you via Rainman Ray's page.
Also make sure your grounding attachments actually remain usable and attached. Chrysler grounds seem to fall apart and corrode badly even on newer vehicles.
I watched your last video on this, my brother-in-laws jeep got a check engine light, hooked up the scanner and got the same codes as your last video, looked at the same ground and it was all green and crusty. Fixed and he was all good. Not the first time your diagnosis made my job easier. Just got me a new Toyota truck as well and found someone to spray it with the fluid film (black) just starting to stop stinking two week later… they pulled the fender liners and door panels off as well (for a first time spray)
Mr. O, please don't worry if it's a repeat. Doesn't matter how many times we see the same job, you always make it fun. Merry Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. O! Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season.
Yeah, it is the same old same old, But this is what keeps the lights on and you and your staff AND Mrs.O happy. Cheers from Saskatoon. Yeah, it is a city.
I know you like to put out fresh and new educational content but we like your personality and entertainment, if I could give advice, don't feel bad about repeat issues, just be you and do videos as you are able. Sometimes we just like to watch the process of the fix and hearing it start and work in the end.
Great video! I've been watching your videos for a few years now, I'm unable to do much with cars these days, my health isn't what it used to be. Hey from one Dad to another, when our twin boys were about 12 / 13 they were in junior high and they needed to be writing papers with sources and citations. My wife & I were worried about them being on the internet, but we made a lesson out of it and the boys and I built them desktop PCs and they used my Microsoft Office to write papers and whip together spreadsheets. It helped.
Eric, I think it took longer to drag this vehicle into the garage than to fix it. Not much time for jokes but the ones you told are priceless. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
Usually nice to see a bit of green this time of year - but in this case another customer saw red on the dash. Thanks for posting a "same stuff" video - good to have a refresher on how a bad ground can create multiple problems to diagnose.
Eric, you are making an educated guess based on experience. There is a difference. And Shhhhhhh... Charge them for the time it took you on the first one, ship it and get paid! These easy ones make up for the ones where you have to eat time because you can't charge for all of it for whatever various reason.
Don't hesitate to share whatever with us; despite "rinse and repeat" they are always interesting. Plus with each new video there's a chance Mrs. O will appear! And, of course, it's always good to see and hear from you... Another Stellantis product, more crappy engineering...
Great continuity there Mr O., starting and ending with the heater firing up in the background. I watch wearing headphones most times, and it's not as loud as many claim, but maybe on the tinny-sounding phone speakers it's worse. Either way, your mundane is our entertainment, so feel free to post away if it doesn't impact your schedule (or life) too much.
Another nice repair. Amazing how poor these grounds are when mfgs go to great lengths on connectors with weather packs, gold plated pins/sockets, … then they do a crappy open air crimp on bare copper and expose it. It’s kind of obvious how that will end up. 😩 Hope you get some downtime over the holidays Mr O to recharge your batteries.
There is one good thing about Jeep ganging so many grounds on one stud: It creates a unique pattern of errors that can easily be put into the google machine to find your exact problem!
Yeah the old boring oil change day in day out , The only positive is it pays the bills even if you feel brain dead.Cheers Mr.O.Happy Holidays to you & the fam.
"An auto repair shop somewhere in New York State. A grizzled, experienced mechanic with a sense of Deja Vu. He's seen this one before, but here it is again, a mirror image of the last time. Once again he's repairing the same ground, on a different vehicle, In the Twilight Zone."
Ever since Disney went woke, we have turned to you for our entertainment. Seriously, just because it is a brake job, does not make it the same... Ok, maybe if they were ALL brake jobs, but you underestimate our ability to watch reruns. You are not only an excellent teacher, you got stories. Thanks for tryin to save us from the mundane, but they all can't be gems, sides... We lik'em.
If you want to see the diagnosis how it should have been done you can watch it here - ua-cam.com/video/8LtFlyDF1kc/v-deo.htmlsi=909OQCMVvwXjQu6U
I think we have hit a high water mark in UA-cam mechanics world, watching Eric watching Eric. It doesn’t get any better.
🤣
That's Eriception...
Only thing better would be Eric Watching Eric as he watches Eric! 🧐
Remember, if he can watch it, you can watch it.
Eric, please do not apologize. Any SMA video is a treat.
This
Agreed!
I'm always clicking "Like" before I even see the video. I do this because they are all entertaining. Thanks for making them.
I do it out of appreciation. I already know the content is worth it.
DITTO!
Well, even if their mundane to you, they're already always YT gold for the rest of us. Thanks as always, Eric!
Sometimes I really don't think he understands that.
It's nice to have consistency in life. Chrysler definitely wanted consistency with their issues.
You would think they would have figured it out by now. They had bad grounds in the 70's.
Mr. O, you’re mundane work, makes our mundane days better. Thank you sir!
❤
I beg to differ kind Sir. You are the grounds keeper! You've always been the grounds keeper! 🤣🤣🤣
Lol I like it
By Appointment of Her Royal Highness Mrs. O., King Eric is not only master of his realm, but Keeper of the Grounds, and Tourqer of Fasteners.
Well it's better than the "smeller of the nectar of rodents".
Remember “lotion” by the greenskeepers? Love that song
well said
your never boring. guys like me need to watch something 10 times before we learn how to do it
This easy fixe makes up for the difficult jobs
Each day young people start this career! Each video is teaching! In my 30 years of teaching I tell the technicians if you learn 1 thing it’s worth your time! All your videos do the same thing! Thank you
I'm genuinely amused. Thanks for posting!
At least you aren’t being rushed in this video. Thanks Eric!
Chrysler and all the flavors have had ground and power connector issues since the 60s! You would think the engineers would have fixed that! Eric never stop. This just shows how often it is the same problem. Good job!
JEEP
Just Expensive Electrical Problems
😮
Just Empty Every Pocket
Junk Each and Every Part
Always in a Heap.
😂😂
Jerryrig Eternally, Extremely Problematic
Rinse and repeat is good for the bottom line.
Eric is the most grounded guy I know 🌩
This is where the customer pays for your experience.
Don’t forget to charge for that.
And there is the overhead and cost for tools and a new scanner every couple years.
Been there Eric!
Thank you for posting all your videos. We really enjoy your knowledge and they way you present it! Happy Holidays to you and the family! :)
Eric O, you can sing. I believe it! I learned so much from this channel.
My wife’s car is a 2017 patriot with the big 2.4. Same exact grounds. I checked them all after watching your videos. They all look good no problems with the car. Eric O keeping us all grounded :)
I am well grounded after watching this.
There is something that has to be satisfying when you can solve and repair a problem by watching your own video.
Mr. O., watching his own video: Wow! This guy is really good! I wonder who he is??
Mr. O., answering his own question: Well, of course of know him; he's me!
Oh man, 2 for the day! Thank you, sir!
I never worked on Autos (except minor easy tinkering), but Airplanes all my career. It never ceased to amaze me when I was a repair tech that an engineer would be lazy and place all the grounds in one place. When I became a design engineer, I made sure I didnt do that.

I still enjoy watching anyway. Keep em coming and I’ll keep liking and giving you thumbs up !

Merry Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. O! Hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season.
If you were any closer, I'd keep you busy with new stuff, Eric. Still helpful info. Thanks.
I always enjoy. I go way back into when you first started and watching repeat episodes because at my age I forget about him lol. Great content always
Yeah, it is the same old same old, But this is what keeps the lights on and you and your staff AND Mrs.O happy. Cheers from Saskatoon. Yeah, it is a city.
Dont knock pattern failures. That's what easy money smells like. 😊
Bread and butter. Easy peasy lemon squeezee! As long as it keeps you profitable. That's what mattters most.
Thanks.
Hey, sometimes that's the reality of running a shop. Not every car is a cool/unusual problem. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for keeping in touch.
I know you like to put out fresh and new educational content but we like your personality and entertainment, if I could give advice, don't feel bad about repeat issues, just be you and do videos as you are able. Sometimes we just like to watch the process of the fix and hearing it start and work in the end.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
The banter is different every time and always entertaining so no worries about rinse & repeat! 😊
Easy money day at SMA! Love your videos.
Mundane may not be exciting, but it pays the bills! Good job Eric!
May you and your family enjoy the holiday season and nothing but the best in 25
Ditto here, all SMA videos are a treat!!
Happy Holidays to all y'all Eric!
I've been an SMA sub so long I remember when Mrs. O had to open and close the garage doors.
🤣 same here
She was shy back then.. now she's ferocious
I needed a good laugh today. Thanks Eric
we never get tired of it Eric O. keep those videos coming🙃
Very close to a million, keep up the good work
Did I just watch SMA watch an SMA video to fix a car in the SMA shop? The matrix is glitching again.
I love all your videos. I can watch the same thing all the time while learning and being entertained 👍
Even if it's a repeat of a prior video, we still like seeing you Eric in the latest version.
Repeat videos are great. I know it's annoying, but it goes to repeat repair process and I thinks it's great for consistency.
Good stuff as always SMA!
Thanks Eric... still love your videos
Thanks Eric for knowledge of diagnosis for bad corroded wires helped me with alternator install had bad positive wire from alternator to battery
Great video! I've been watching your videos for a few years now, I'm unable to do much with cars these days, my health isn't what it used to be. Knowledge, Efficiency and Honesty=SMA
Did I just watch the quickest SMA video ever? Funny thing is, just the other night... my wife said the exact same thing “Gee, that was quick”. 🤣🤣🤣
That ended up being a well grounded video! 😊
Hi ! The first time , you search mass failure , and the second time you won time and money ! That's cool .
Hello from France .
Wow, deja vu all over again...
Eric, I think it took longer to drag this vehicle into the garage than to fix it. Not much time for jokes but the ones you told are priceless. Thanks for Sharing! 🙃🙂
What an era.
Eric O watching his own vids, VGG reviving his old revivals.
The world is just a merry go round. Might as well hop on and enjoy the ride!
Jeep doesn't hold its ground! Saves diagnostic time, though 🙂 It really is the same problem. Quick job, Eric!
Usually nice to see a bit of green this time of year - but in this case another customer saw red on the dash. Thanks for posting a "same stuff" video - good to have a refresher on how a bad ground can create multiple problems to diagnose.
Approaching that 1 million sub mark, who woulda eva thunk! 😮
Just a few words to say thanks keep makin em.
All hail the algorithm.
Still enjoy every video you produce. I learn something new. 😊
Keep those rinse and repeat’s coming Eric 🫶🏼
Eric, you are making an educated guess based on experience. There is a difference. And Shhhhhhh... Charge them for the time it took you on the first one, ship it and get paid! Mr. O! If somebody asks if you are the Gatekeeper? YOU TELL THEM YES!! 😁
I think a a watch party with you critiquing one of your past videos while we all eat popcorn together would be hilarious. Thanks, Mr O
Always enjoy watching you E.O. No matter the length. Just one thing missing in this video that would have made it 10 times better……. Take a guess….
Don't hesitate to share whatever with us; despite "rinse and repeat" they are always interesting. Plus with each new video there's a chance Mrs. O will appear! And, of course, it's always good to see and hear from you...

All I can say is, working on cars for 11 hours today then watching repair videos... Must be a sickness and love watching Mr.O😂
Another nice repair.
Amazing how poor these grounds are when mfgs go to great lengths on connectors with weather packs, gold plated pins/sockets, … then they do a crappy open air crimp on bare copper and expose it. It’s kind of obvious how that will end up. 😩
Hope you get some downtime over the holidays Mr O to recharge your batteries.
Thanks for the mundane videos Mr O. Always entertaining. Stay safe out there.
Bad ground! Bad ground! 😅😊😂
Love you Eric!
Whatever you post I watch with baited breath. If nothing else for your humour! Keep her going Eric O 😀
Bated..
There is one good thing about Jeep ganging so many grounds on one stud: It creates a unique pattern of errors that can easily be put into the google machine to find your exact problem!
Still a good video and a reminder to never by a Jeep. Your the best!
Dude, you could post oil change videos for a month, I'm still gonna subscribe, still gonna watch, and still gonna upvote.
Gravy! The timing belt is looking a bit overdue.... 😉 Guess that's one for "The Other Shop." 😊
I remember repairing in a factory, common problems all day long. Designed into the product or the process.
Awesome rinse and repeat!
Repetition is good. It might get me to remember to check grounds when multiple circuit codes show up😂
I love your shorts!!!😂 Great mechanic, charge the customer for the diagnostic test time on the last customer. You have to eat!!!😂
Doesn't matter to me that it's the same stuff! You make me laugh!
It happens, same old shit different day. Great video Eric!
People enjoy Mr and Mrs O and not just the work.
Good Job Eric
Yeah the old boring oil change day in day out , The only positive is it pays the bills even if you feel brain dead.Cheers Mr.O.Happy Holidays to you & the fam.
Thanks for the video Eric.
“Big bad Chrysler grounds, baddest grounds in the whole dang town” 😂😂😂😂
do do do do you’ve entered the SMA zone. Ok I’m done.
