Massive fan of Vanessa Kirby and Kate Winslet but I have to say it's so refreshing to hear from Michelle Pfeiffer, who gets overlooked way too often imo. She's a true icon and an absolute pro and I'm glad Hollywood is giving her the recognition she deserves.
Kate Winslet is truly a great woman with a wonderful personality, she proves it in all her interviews. She is so human and passionate when she speaks that she cannot help but captivate you. I love her, she is a great inspiration and she is not the usual star, she is one of us. Great Kate

I love all these ladies but my favourite performances of the year are by Vanessa Kirby and Carey Mulligan. Michelle Pfeiffer and Kate Winslet have always been brilliant. Andra was great too. Haven't seen Rashida's film yet.

21:28 Kate is talking about Little Children. She's mentioned that scene before in other interviews and I agree in most of her statement especially about feeling validated in such an intimate and vulnerable moment but I think it is necessary for the actors to understand the cinematic language beyond their dialogues and the script only. I know this because I have posed nude for painting and photography students and it's not about your body only but the entire frame ; In this scene, light is used to a great extent for the sensation of intimacy and well-being of the characters; the refraction of sunlight through the window onto the floor and walls covers the body of Patrick Wilson and hers. The color is a sepia green in the environment that manages to portray them in a kind of humid and warm place at the same time; The scene uses the image to separate the couple from their routine full of dissatisfaction from the moment they have to give each other all of that they do not have in their separate lives: it is a very morally ambiguous film and very little appreciated and understoof in addition. By the way with their characters; they are the parents of two toddlers who become friends in the park and they are having an affair. It makes more sense that they hide in a much more secluded place than in a kitchen. In conclusion, concessions must be made on both sides but never underestimate the work of the cinematographer or director if they know exactly what they want to use to capture their vision.
Ps. I LOVE her work, I think she is very brave, she has made these very vulnerable scenes throughout her career and it has been easy for audiences to judge or objectify her and she's so humble about it. She should never feel regretful of that audacity to choose characters when the great quality surpasses anything else. LOVEEE Ammonite by the way

I see two film legends on the video, Michelle Pfeiffer and Kate Winslet. Double brilliance right there. Would love to see them in a film together. Haven’t heard of the other actresses, but from the brief clips of their films they showed, it looks like they’re pretty fantastic actors as it is. Didn't know the one girl was Quincy Jones' daughter. This was great to hear all of their input on the acting craft and what it's really like and the anxiety that accompanies taking on a role.
Michelle and Kate are just fantastic!! Two of the best actresses of their time. Vanessa Kirby (in between Kate & Michelle) is one of my favorite young new actresses. First saw her in The Crown on Netflix as Princess Margaret and she was just amazing. Highly recommend if you haven’t watched yet. Her performance in Pieces of a Woman is breathtaking. Great movie. I know the future will bring big things for her. Andra Day in The United States vs Billy Holiday was also great. Big fan of all these actresses!

You know what is kind of gross, the male roundtable made as the counterpart to this was titled: ‘2020 Oscars Roundtable with George Clooney etc.’ but the women’s version is titled ‘What Happens When Five Actresses Get Together And Let Loose’. It sounds like a trivialisation and mockery of the craft of these women. Give them the same respect as you give their male counterparts.
I appreciate that this is edited in a way to make it seem like an actual conversation is unfolding between the women. The host only appears a few times to steer the conversation. Thank you!

Michelle Pfeiffer always unproblematic
I wish she would have spoken more in this interview. I've always loved her as an actress and am absolutely fascinated by her acting choices. Particularly, as she has turned down some of the most popular roles that then went to other actresses like Pretty Woman, Silence of the Lambs, Thelma & Louise, Casino, and Basic Instinct. I would really love to hear her talk about this more, at some point.
My favorite by far is Michelle Pfeiffer. BUT Andra and Rashida are so wonderful too!! (As of course is Vanessa...and Kate the Great.) Super nice episode to watch.

Because of course, women don't have discussions, they just get together and let loose! I saw very little 'letting loose' here, just a thought-provoking discussion on the state of the industry and of their individual films. What a degrading, infantilizing title for their serious conversation.
