Also, unlike Jodi Benson, she didn't sing-act well when performing "Part of Your World." Her rendition was much more like a "look at what I can do" concert performance rather than acting in a scene.
@@davidalbro2009 Emily Zemler’s new book Disney Princess: Beyond The Tiara explains that “[a]nimator and Disney Legend Glen Keane, who was largely responsible for Ariel’s look” primarily drew inspiration for these and other elements of Ariel’s design from four women: his wife Linda Keane, model Christie Brinkley, actress Alyssa Milano, and comedian Sherri Stoner. The big hair Alyssa had back then plus she was a big starlet when the film was in its beginning stages are her contributions to Ariel's look. So awesome. This kind of thing right here is what differentiates older movies from the last few years of garbage Hollywood has pumped out. The movies now have no soul/heart, they're lifeless, passionless, bland in the worst possible way. Totally uninspired. And back then they put SO much work into every detail. Compare a modern movie where it's 100% green screens & CGI to the making of Lord of the Rings, for example. The amount of work and dedication and passion it used to take to make a film was crazy compared to now. And that's why the animated version of this will always be a classic, and the new one is awful. No love or creativity was put into it. (I have to say though, Melissa McCarthy surprised me with her Ursula, she did pretty well, she stands out as the best part of the remake, I think.)
Would you keep the same argument when it comes to other technologies that enhances our lives, or is it just with the film industry?
