Absolutely! Christy Shaffer only served 77 days for murdering a child! Lisa Vanderlinden only served 1 year in prison for murdering a child! Christy Shaffer actually served more time for meth possession than she did for murder.
The times when he smiles during the victim's impact statement and the parole board summarizing: That is rage. That is not hilarity or mirth. He is feeling that rage well up.
Did you not watch the entire thing because what you are saying and how you are saying it not what was being said. You talk about what he said but nothing that went with it as an explanation. Clueless one

@@TheValidation everybody is entitled to their opinion. However, he is the one in prison for 10 years for beating me with a chair and trying to beat our kids with the broken legs of said chair.
ESPECIALLY after he said "I just want to hear what the victim has to say" ... he is making a mockery of her experience! And clearly pointed that out to the board within the first 2 minutes!!
I don’t see it that way. He also said he doesn’t deserve parole and he should get more time. He seems to understand how his actions changed lives. The problem I see is that when the victim speaks, his body language is guarded.
I came here to say that, especially when he said he just wanted to hear the victim's statement. People like this thrive on even negative attention, he's definitely going to get a kick out of hearing what she has to say.
The problem is we are no longer used to seeing honesty. He's not filtering anything much here, including his language. I think he's telling the truth when he says he doesn't really care about getting out, and isn't experiencing any nerves or stress. Therefore " it's what you see is what you get."
He just said what most people would be thinking. My guess is, even the people teaching the class probably don't take it seriously. People are just going through the motions to try to get out of prison/jail faster.
Why not? And exactly how are you defining a sex offender? Your statement is overly broad and very ignorant. So your than fine with Murders getting parole but not sex offenders. Your stupidity is astounding. If I had my way they would put stupid people like you in prison without parole.
I would say there's more to the story, but because it's so much repeated offense, we're right. I thought it was his 1st time offense until halfway through. I don't want to say too much though, I would like to avoid destruction as much as possible.

This guy must be locked away from society. He’s obviously a very angry person and extremely condescending. If this is him trying to make a good impression, I’d hate to see what he’s like when he’s stressed and angry.
This guy is dangerous. He has a great understanding of the things that are wrong with him. The fact that he only wants to control those problems so that he doesn't return to prison rather than humbly change is Socialpathic. Programs are often counter active in these type. The more he learns about himself the smarter he gets about what it takes to disarm his victims or in this case jury (paroleboard, decision makers).
Exactly it's what makes him most dangerous than anyone else. He knows exactly what he's doing, and exactly what he needs to say and do to get out of anything. That's scary
One part of this that made me angry and let me see what is needed for parole members: When they ask him not to use the victim's name, they apologize profusely for having him modify his behavior. There needs to be ongoing education for parole members. One of the the things they should learn before ever taking a case is: YOU NEVER APOLOGIZE TO THE INMATE. Inmates in general are manipulative and dishonest; in DV and SA cases, this is not a generality but a ground truth. The parole board has no clue who they are dealing with and who their duty is toward.
Him crossing his arms while the victim read her statement speaks louder than anything he had to say. No remorse. He's a master at saying what he should say to put himself in the best light. That's a scary individual.
@sunkiiingI think it’s during the victim’s statement. I’m on 15 minutes in, but from reading other comments, it appears to be during the victim’s statements.
I said this to another comment, but my husband folds his arms all the time. It’s like some people who put their hands in their pockets. Do I think it’s just a natural habit? Absolutely not! Especially during the victim’s statement! 🤬 I just wanted to say, to look at someone’s baseline. ☺️☺️

He is very intelligent and very charismatic. This is dangerous. Hopefully he is sincere about understanding how much work will go into maintaining self control but he will very easily be a good manipulator.
His narcissist attitude makes me sick to my stomach! Only wants to go on to hear what the victim has to say! This pos is definitely not going to stop being a terror to the victim nor anyone else.
Absolutely, if he truly felt empathy for the victim he’d have taken her feelings into consideration with going further with that hearing instead of saying, “sure, I’d like to hear what the victim has to say”. If you’re not really worried about parole then why put this young lady through this? I’m sure she’d rather not be there trying to keep you in. Just say, look, I don’t think I’m ready and I’d like to wave my hearing out of respect for the victim. This guy thinks he’s fooling people with this bullshit. Sad thing is he’ll get out and met some other young lady and do the same thing to her. What a p.o.s.
He’s going to enjoy hearing his victim talk about how he terrorized her all over again. That’s what he’s there for. He’s a psychopath and he gets off on overpowering others. Notice how he keeps talking about her? He’s just repeating (parroting) what he picked up in his classes to sound good. Getting a CDL and OTR driving is a perfect job for a serial killer.

Im only 6 minutes in, but im curious to get your opinion on what you think would constitute sincerety? Because this is the first guy who wasnt just reapeating the same key phrases they learn in those classes or from other inmates. That they believe the parole board want to hear. The first time an inmate actually described in detail, what they learned from their classes, and ehy they did what they did. Most inmates just say "i was young and dumb" or "idk why i did it" or "i was on drugs/alcohol" etc. He actually described why he did what he did, and in detail. Instead of very short responses to the board members questions, he was having an actual conversation, being involved in the process. If that makes sense. He also used the victims name, when other inmates try to call them anything but. The board ended up having to tell him to not mention the victims name. I dont see manipulation at all. He may not feel remorse, but he definitely, truly learned where he went wrong, and gained the tools and knowledge to stop himself from behaving in such a way again. The fact that he is not trying to kowtow to the board members, grovelling like most other inmates. Tells me there is no motivation to manipulate. Because why would he risk coming across as a smug jerk to the board, that could result in them denying him parole? Often times, people who are not fully in submission, that arent sweet talking, or grovelling at the feet of authority, comes across as smug or just is taken negatively overall. But in reality, there really is nothing wrong with their behavior. As i continue to listen as i write this, i really believe that is whats going on here. I honestly dont think he is being manipulative, and if this is the wrong behavior, and the usual inmate responses are wrong. What would be considered to be sincere? I hope that makes sense. My English is not vert good, so i have a hard time getting my thoughts into words. I am genuinely curious to know what you think about this, and i am open to changing my opinion. @@kiwigirlNZ oh, I completely understand. And probably should have waited to comment until afterwards. I was actually still listening to the video as I typed my comment, and would pause in the middle of typing. So I was able to get a better idea of the person's behavior. I did end up watching the video again afterwards, without reading or typing in the comments, and I don't think I have seen anything that would change my opinion. Many times we are going to have different opinions, because of our different perspectives.( If that's the right word/term?) Anyway, that is why I come to the comments section. To have a genuine, and civil discussion. To get the perspective of others, and learn why they believe what they do about the specific topic. And normally, someone will offer their different perspective, that ends up opening up my own, so that I see where I saw things incorrectly, and was happy to change my opinion. I have no intention in argument, or to put down others. I respect the opinions of others. Even if they do not align with my own. I am fully ok with agreeing to disagree if no common ground can be reached, without judgement towards the other person. I should have waited to make that comment until after I watched the hearing in entirety. But I did type out my comment, as the video went on. Only starting my first couple sentences at the 6 minutes mark. And after watching with my full attention, afterwards. I still have the same opinion, just from my own perspective. I am simply asking for the perspective of the others, so that I may learn something I just didn't see. It's important when forming an opinion. I think. IDK. My English is not the best, so I may not be explaining things very clear. I do apologize for that. And I hope I did not cause any offense. That was not my intention.

Comments: something that you say or write that expresses your opinion. -Cambridge Dictionary To answer your question, no I didn’t have the perfect life. Not that it’s any business of you, but I probably had the most tumultuous, dysfunctional, and terrifying upbringing. I made sure my children didn’t grow up in the same environment. My mom got into an extremely abusive (although very short) relationship, and when she broke it off, it became even more violent. They lived together for a very short time, as he took a crow bar and hit her in the face w/ it. I was 3 1/2, and I remember my older sister telling me to go to the trailer next to ours, and to call the police. I did so, and when I came out of the neighbors, he picked me up, and kidnapped me. I was taken to his sister’s home, it was a bi-level, and he held a shotg•n on me for 13 hours. When my mom came, again she was hit in the face, broken nose, and orbital bone, he stood at the top of the stairs, telling her if she tried coming in, he’d sh••t her and then me. She left, and came back w/ several friends. (She worked as a bartender for a private motorcycle club. No, not Hell’s angels, but they were all Italian. They then came back w/ her, one of them grabbed me, and my mom, sister, and I left. Mom then went to the hospital. This guy has not been seen since. Oh, it was 1978, so things were much different then. I actually tried looking up his name last year, as I still have nightmares, and his name was no where! So, I can guarantee you that I did not have a rosy life. My mom passed away from leukemia before my children were born, and I watched her slowly die for almost 5 years. That was a lot for a 16 year old to see. I had to drop out of HS, as my stepfather worked days. Someone had to be w/ her at all times. I was called by the school and asked if I wanted to be in the first GED class of that county. I went to night school, and thankfully was still able to graduate w/ my class. ‘93. I tried going to college, but I was terrified that my mom would pass while I was gone. She died at 51, I was 20. I would sit in the chair next to the couch and I remember watching her intently while she slept, in fear of her breathing would stop. I had one hell of a life before I met my spouse, so I absolutely have the right to comment. There was one other horrible incident that I endured, that is extremely traumatic for me, but I won’t share it for very personal reasons. When I met my now spouse, we had very in-depth discussions about how we would act and what we say in front of our children. We weren’t perfect, still aren’t, but I made a decision to break the cycle. I’m extremely opinionated bc I could have easily become a statistic, but I wasn’t going to allow myself to fail! Let me tell you, it was f’ing hard! It’s still hard! I have zero sympathy for people who have “had it rough.” Trust me, I absolutely had it rougher. (As those are just 2 things out of hundreds.) I went to college after my mom died. I really only had a 10th grade education. Yes, I got my GED, but it wasn’t like it is today. I had to take pre-requisite after pre-requisite. But I kept going, trying, and fighting my way through. So I don’t have sympathy for those who become criminals! I’m so thankful that I chose my husband wisely bc he’s one of the kindest, most generous persons I know! I chose to get into a relationship, w/ someone who would edify me, and stand by me. If anyone has the right to comment on these videos, it’s me! Thanks 😊

Fascinating, no?
Exactly it's what makes him most dangerous than anyone else. He knows exactly what he's doing, and exactly what he needs to say and do to get out of anything. That's scary
One part of this that made me angry and let me see what is needed for parole members:
When they ask him not to use the victim's name, they apologize profusely for having him modify his behavior.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend:)

I think. IDK. That makes me so angry too, my nieces are in massive debt for getting their BA & MA degrees, but this piece of crap gets a free degree, while our taxes fed him & gave him his uniform while he paid for a crime by getting off work & not paying for utilities & rent & got free college... and Veterans are on the streets freezing 🤬
@denisesalas564 It's necessary to train inmates to independently function as adults.
'There's nothing good about what I did.' *he says whilst laughing and chuckling.
Wow! His ego is HUGE. If you don’t feed his ego there will be hell to pay. Starts out, I don’t care if you let me out now, I’m set to get out of here soon anyway. Ego, ego, ego. He ends with silent treatment because they say you’re not ready to get out. Ego, ego ego. Women stay away from this creep.
Wow! The attitude and narcissism of him is through the roof. He's definitely going to re-offend again.
That smile after she was done reading her statement spoke volumes. Psycho.
That wasn't just a smile. That was predatory.
@@kims.9488 Agree it was more like a snarl baring his teeth sneering in mockery. He does not care and will never admit he is wrong because he does not think he was wrong. Evil is right.
I was soooo afraid the board was going to let 1st guy out😢 I swear I wish I was wealthy. I would get the victim out of that state and a place to live far away from that sicko
The first guy doesn't even want parole so I don't even understand why he's answering their questions.. he was given a punishment based on the conduct he was convicted of therefore in 14 months he's free and clear with no probation or parole and I'm fine with that because that's the system we have .. if you don't like it vote in those softies who would punish people based on their emotions and not the law
Big tough guy in his little ford focus. What a loser.
Some people give themselves away not being able to handle their own ego.
Homeboy went into his meeting EXPECTING THE WORST, HOPING THE BEST.
The 1st turd said he can go back to a pharmaceutical company OR DO TREE WORK?!? Uhhh what?
People have diverse skill sets...
What pharmaceutical company would hire this criminal ? You need a bachelor of science at minimum and can't be a felon and convict .
The scary thing about this guy is he won’t let his next victim live. He had his arms folded the whole time the victim spoke. But, when the board was praising him for what he’s done so fat. He unfolded his arms🤬
I noticed the same thing ! This guy is a sadistic narcissist and will never change.
I agree w/ you for the most part, but it could be normal for him. My husband always folds his arms. He’ll be sitting on the couch, watching Seinfeld w/ his arms crossed. Of course he isn’t a manipulator, a negative person, or violent person. I’m just saying some people, do it naturally. Do I think this guy does it habitually? No! 😂😂 but I wanted to point it out .

To answer your question, no I didn’t have the perfect life.
(As those are just 2 things out of hundreds.)
I went to college after my mom died.
Thanks 😊
Yes! Textbook narcissist. Textbook domestic violence abuser. My assumption is he has NO respect for his mother who he is going to live with. He will continue the cycle unless he continues intensive treatment and recognizes his distain towards women. Hes too self absorbed to be able to see further than his nose.
What is scary and creepy is the asked him if he wants to go ahead with his hearing, and he said yes I want to hear the victim has to say. That’s the only reason he’s there to hear his victim what a monster.!
The way he stares as she explains all she’s gone and goes through …they better listen to her and listen good!
He’s creepy 😳
He's such a changed man that he doesn't even want parole anymore. He's achieved a zen level of clarity where either way, he can focus all of his energy towards pursuing his career. In the future, he will know to keep himself out of situations that require him to abuse people.
Interesting perspective. Hope you’re right.
Delusional
You can see the anger as he shakes his legs and folds his arms !!
He could just be nervous I do that sometimes when I’m nervous.
@@DrAndre911u can’t be nervous if u don’t give a fuck
I have dated men like this... He is saying what he knows they want to hear. What every abused woman has wanted to hear. These men are not stupid... they are just selfish and mean as hell. This means nothing. If anything, he will become a more skilled abuser.
That was one hella wicked parole hearing… wtff cursing, cocky-attitude, and where do you get off of the sex registry??
MANDOO WHAT THE HELL DID WE JUST SEE??!!!!
This must be a sex offender prison
Ct lets them off the registry no matter how old the person they violate is. We need to do something about those laws in that state because they give them a slap on the wrist when it need a to me life no parole
"It is what it is." is one of the worst statements pervading current culture. It's such a write-off of your actions and control
"Blah blah blah blah, and then I get screwed over.
This guy sounds like he’s learned nothing in prison.
He’s getting a free education. This guy is a prime example of a Narcissist.
Yes babe,
Smart though. He's beating them at their own game. I bet they grant it and he says no I'm good.
I think he's a sociopath. He actually physically attacks women which is beyond narcissism.
when he said he would never put himself in a situation where he would do what he did again,, my warning bells went off because at any moment in time you can Be in a situation and He has to know that In those situations he can never ever do what he did again,
The Parole Board is broken! And he walks out! Throw away the key!!
I really can’t believe the parole board put up with his disrespectful mouth
I agree.
They can't do nothing to him. They can deny his parole and send him back to his cell He doesn't care.
@@Michael-ry4gsRight. He’s out in 14 months.
If I was on the parole board that hearing would have ended from he said he wanted to hear what the victim had to say. The way he said it, appeared to be nonchalant and condescending. To me, it was another opportunity for him to show the victim I don’t care about you, what I did you only got me a “little” time and the time won’t phase him.
I would have pause the hearing, told the victim, what I believed, see if they wanted to continue, but have strongly convinced the victim to support terminating the hearing, and not to give him to satisfaction of laughing in her face.
But that’s just me🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I agree
This man is in no way taking responsibility for squat considering the first thing he said was he was a victim for being in prison for the DV that he in fact was guilty of and said himself that she would get angry due to his own terrible behavior directed at her and then he would get violent with her because he blamed her for getting mad about his behavior. He really doesn't say how he would manage his anger issues because you can see he still has major aggressive, impulsive issues. He can't even control his language in this interview, in prison he has other people controlling his behavior, when he gets out he will be losing control and blaming everyone else for causing him beat the crap out of them.
33:18 its litterly disgusting how he smiles and is so full of himself immediately after being called a pee-dough-file and 33:06 abuser of young girls. Just sickening. 😡😡
Guys who beat up women suddenly don’t feel like fighting when they go to prison with other men. How interesting. It’s almost as if they only want to fight those much weaker than them.
I worked in a prison he has learned the game well
