love how ed is loving like every other comment except for these. that was my first thought is how’d they get the keys if they were left with the storage keeper
You'd be surprised how brazen they can be dude. I run a fleet business and we have the best security system you can get, 26 cameras all motion detected and a very heavy door that is rated to be able to take a ram from a huge truck. Now I've never had a car stolen but..... Some dudes did come into my building and steal the HVAC aircon system, it is huge and they needee a Crain to get it into its position. These 4 dudes came in, in masks and carried it out. They did a professional job removing it too. When insurance covered the unit the installer was worried they would have wrecked all the piping etc but they did a good job blocked off everything that needed blocking off, shit off the power and removed the plugs properly etc 😂😂😂. So they had to have been aircon guys. But even with the best security system there is all it will do is get footage of the crime most of the time, the alarm no one pays attention to those in industrial estates usually. So they just did it as fast as they could 3 and a half minutes from the time the backed in their truck to having on and driving away. So even with those systems the best you can hope is they are dumb and have something in that footage that you get to give that to the cops.
The guy that owned the barn needs to pay up some funds for repairs because he took on the responsibility of the car and his word since he obviously was less than capable of holding this car he needs to help Alistair out!
Something not right here. .. How stores a car like that but let's any rando come along to collect it. Where is the ID check of the person collecting the car or phone call to Alistair for confirmation......
I know a guy with a classic 69 Charger Daytona, 68 Charger RT, and over a half million of other cars and parts. He keeps them in a windowless warehouse behind his house, complete with motion lights all around and a security system. Seems to me this guy should've done something similar. With a car as valuable as this, you can't skimp out on security.
If I had a garage full of super cars and offered to store one for someone, that someone or enyone wouldn't get within 5 foot of that garage without me knowing... There's no way you could just rock up and remove your car.
Yeah the dude obviously played a part in it disappearing. It was such a bad excuse. Then again what else do you say when you just gave their car to a loan shark to pay off a debt?
Me and my friend were discussing this. We wonder if the car was stolen and put on fake plates and used on occasions. The person driving knew it was stolen but carried on. Then the car is stolen again, stripped for parts and then dumped. The person who had it stolen from them knew it was stolen so couldn't report it. Just an idea
I have another theory. That collector let it be stolen or he stole it himself and then it got stolen. You'd think with anything entrusted to another person's care they would wanna know the location of that item in their care until the original owner got that item back. Grill that "collector".. That is my hunch as to what happened. No one should be that careless. Using the "I thought you picked the car up" is a lame excuse. Never trust your cars to others and doubles if your rich enough to own lambos. Additionally insurance in any car over 20k is always going to look for any out to not pay you. With insurance you pay for what you get read those policies in detail.
"I thought you came and collected it" Wasn't the car in a locked barn? wouldn't most people question why a (expensive) car isn't there anymore? Totally fishy.
The Guy who stored the car for him HOW could he hand over the keys and open his storage space to anyone else than the owner? Its not like you by mistake do that about a Diablo as rare as they get 🤣 He is no:1 suspect in my book!
Should have taken the guy that stored the car to court. Ignorance is no defence, he was responsible for the car which means he let it get stolen and since insurance won't pay out, he should.
You are right. Under English Common Law, the Storer is a "Bailee for Reward" and can be sued. However it is an expensive process and the Storer may not be worth sueing. Lesson is If you put a car in storage check with your Insurers first.
Alistair seems like a really good guy, would love to see interviews with him- I bet he has tons of stories and wisdom to share. Thanks for sharing Ciro
Yeah, UK police did absolutely nothing when my car was stolen. Side note, met this guy at Petrolheadonism Live at Knebworth House, amazing car show and great guy
Probably, this parts are already sent to UAE, Lithuania, Latvia or US. As an exotic and rare car parts market isn’t that big, using osint tools might help to track this parts.
Im so sad for this, Im a lambirghini lover since I was a kid. Im still glad you guys found the car and hope to rebuild it back soon to this beautiful stated.
So a fellow Lamborghini owner suddenly appears with a car with all new parts ? Nobody would steal those parts unless they had a specific buyer or their own car
Is there a way to look up cars like this one that were wrecked. Someone obviously only needed certain parts and most car guys I know are looking for deals.
Had a few theories on how it got taken, but, I'm guessing too much heat to even wrap the car and drive it. So they drove it on backroads only and parked it out of sight. Looked like it got rained on & windows down. And sat gathering dust
Nah they hid it and were gonna ship it out, once it got all that heat they prob took all the shit off that they easily could remove and sell it on, then stashed it somewhere and GTFO
Wonder if Lamborghini has a system where their most exclusive models have a maintenance program unlike McLaren? That could help a lot, because they might have the register of which VT were sold and exported to certain country, and which ones have been damaged or need spare parts. The other thing I can suggest is checking reports of crashed VTs and title changes. Even if the reports are aren't exact or confiable.
When I started watching these story videos, I was sceptical. Too crazy to be true, but they mostly make sense and seem plausible. This one though - you guys have got some questions to answer! What happened to the key that was at the facility? What happened to the cars that were moved in order to get the Diablo out? How did they get access to the keys, and the car (assuming they were not stored in the same room)?
Su the key was with the car as well not in a lock box or in the barn owners home. I know id I was storing a car for someone the keys would be in a locked container. He is lucky to get this back years ago a mechanic that was doing some work on a rare Alfa my dad got my mum vanished with the car and the police said it would be in a container on a boat, it was never seen again. Nirther was the mechanic.
That guy who stored the car sold it no way you have expensive cars and you are so laid back any collector would want to make sure his pride and joy are safe and sound
How can you just walk into a storage and take a car without anyone knowing very suspicious and just goes to show you can never trust anyone else but yourself
Not to rain on the parade and it’s heartbreaking to see, but theres is no chance you are ever finding them parts unless you strip every VT in the world and match the specific parts serial No’s and build dates which, lets be realistic, is never going to happen.
So no other cars go missing no? No cctv for cars of such value or around the property here in the uk that’s basically unheard of! Definitely down to mr rutter
I had a Mustang Cobra. Someone stripped the Cobra-specific parts from it when it was parked in a mechanic's parking lot (they were supposed to keep the car inside, but didn't). Weeks later my Nephew stopped to help someone whose car had broken down on the side of the road. It was a Mustang. While talking to the guy my Nephew noticed ... those "Cobra" parts on HIS car were specific to MY Cobra, not that person's faux Cobra. They WERE my parts. When the guy left to get help my Nephew and his friend stole back the parts they could remove. The police later contacted me, they had arrested the guy for something else and asked me to see if I could identify the remaining parts. There was no mistaking them, so I got them back (quite damaged from his amateur removal from my car and install on his). I was glad to have them back though.
All kidding aside, my neighbor has a yellow VT here in the US. I don't remember what year it is, but I do know he said it was 1 of 45 made. So, whatever year that was. His runs and drives.
Please let us know the name of the insurance company that refused to pay the claim. So nobody else makes the mistake of using that garbage company. If I'm over at my friend's house and my car gets stolen out of their driveway they better fucking pay for it, or there's no point in having insurance.
What is odd to me, is: In a storage of dozens of cars why only his Lambo got stolen? How this car could be retrieved without the owner of the property noticed? This story is very fishy to me
Maybe Lamborghini can help out...doubt they would, but the story is crazy and the publicity could be awesome for them. Like when Porsche did that restoration of that tractor (right?)
I’d be talking to the guy that stored the car about him maybe knowing someone with a diablo. Maybe someone needed parts and had it stolen or maybe paid the guy to pass the car on. Who knows but idk how the guy storing it just had no consequences.
But the man that stored the car give the keys so how did he think the owner had taken the car surely he has cameras and he must be responsible for it very strange
If you can afford a diablo, you should be able to afford a nice house with garage space and an alarm system. If you love your car you dont palm it off to some enthousiast you just met.
Pretty wild story. I kind of feel like we’re not getting the whole story here. The dude that owned the storage location thought he picked the car up?! Like wtf, something shady went on. You don’t have that kinda money in cars and private storage and not know who’s coming and going on your property! The storage owner must have know more or been in on it!
honestly I think he might have a better chance of getting Lamborghini to fix it for him since its such a unique car than finding those parts, the parts are 99% part of someone else build and they probably don't even know that they have his shit
I was thinking about this. As those stolen parts are unique to that car it's gonna be tough finding replacements. .. Lamborghini would be the first choice. They may even know of suppliers who may have some of the missing parts.. . I know one thing. Anyone trying to sell lambo VT parts anywhere is going to be under a lot of scrutiny.. I mean what is one going to do with bespoke lambo parts that fit a specific car?
What about the guy who owned the property where it was stored? How secure is his place that he doesn’t know when someone comes and takes a car? Sounds like he bears some financial responsibility since he was in possession of the car when it was stolen. And if his place wasn’t secure, why would he leave the keys in the car? Something is fishy…
How could someone just turn up and take it without the guy that owned the storage location knowing where the keys not somewhere secure? I would very strongly suspect that he sold it to someone
Seems that this car was too hot to sell "as is", so those PoS just removed all the valuable items that did not have S/N or unique ID. Those are parts that will get damaged in use, so big money in those parts.
@@storytimewithunclekumaran5004 it's true. Try selling a VT engine? .. Quite rare anyone doing a check on the engine number would know it was a stolen engine....
You cant order these parts anymore? I think every car manufacturer should look at the mercedes classic center. They will produce any part from scratch if necessary. All you need to rebuild a car is the vin and money.

You should get Guy Fieri on to talk about the wild case when someone stole his Gallardo
when was the yellow stolen? there's a recently restored Diablo in the Philippines.
Odd that this pops up today because I just got an alert for a video posted 5 days ago that the car was found and recovered
As if the guy who was storing the car didn’t get done for this.
Yep amazing.
Suspect No1 until proven otherwise..
I wonder how he got all his supercars.. for sure on the up and up
A Diablo VT that does not have a passive or active tracker....... No wonder the insurance company walked.
Damn, that really sucks. Chances are they parted it out internationally. I pray you find those parts.

This collector has. Few Ferraris have some capital?
..
Still agree this collector is prime suspect for sure...
Alistair seems like a really good guy, would love to see interviews with him- I bet he has tons of stories and wisdom to share. Thanks for sharing Ciro
Definitely the guy storing the car knows a lot more than he’s telling. Cars don’t disappear by themselves.
Yeah, UK police did absolutely nothing when my car was stolen. Side note, met this guy at Petrolheadonism Live at Knebworth House, amazing car show and great guy
Where in Yeovil Somerset?!
People really are pieces of work. Another good story. I hope you find the parts
Paul Rutter needs to be hugged with a "My Smotherpillow" just to hear his muffledscreams.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! 😂
So glad Ali got his car back, it's a miracle it wasn't shipped off to somewhere in eastern Europe and never seen again.
Same thing happened to my uncles Diablo luckily it was found it one piece and in better condition then it was before it got robbed.
SHUT UP
Wait, at 4.24 thats Harry. The car wasnt nicked from his garage was it?
so he has a supercar collection on his estate and he doesn't have one security camera to tell when it went missing?
you got scammed bro.
The storage owner didn't own any supercars. Some Bentley’s were recovered by the Police in 2019 as the storage owner didn’t pay the finance.
Just because someone has money doesn't mean they are not a thief.
So what key did they use to steal it?
Su the key was with the car as well not in a lock box or in the barn owners home. I know id I was storing a car for someone the keys would be in a locked container. He is lucky to get this back years ago a mechanic that was doing some work on a rare Alfa my dad got my mum vanished with the car and the police said it would be in a container on a boat, it was never seen again. Nirther was the mechanic.
That guy who stored the car sold it no way you have expensive cars and you are so laid back any collector would want to make sure his pride and joy are safe and sound
You need to be checking world wide find out if there's any wrecked out there Or flood damaged
How did the keys go in to the crooks hands??? some things fishy with the storage place!!
So a dude with storage for his and apparently a few more cars from other people, don't have any security cameras around that spot? Weird.
Did the guy who was storing the car still have the keys for the car after it was stolen?
guessing no..?
Bet the guy “storing it” actually sold it.
Where’s th e tracker?
How can you just walk into a storage and take a car without anyone knowing very suspicious and just goes to show you can never trust anyone else but yourself
I'd be looken to see if their was any rebuilt or freshly registered Diablos recently
Not to rain on the parade and it’s heartbreaking to see, but theres is no chance you are ever finding them parts unless you strip every VT in the world and match the specific parts serial No’s and build dates which, lets be realistic, is never going to happen.
Big part of this how did they get the keys out of this guys house?
so no prints on the car
So glad he got it back because it could have been shipped out and never ever seen again
Parts won’t be cheap unless he gets his own stuff back
This car is my dream car. Timeless design I love it
So no other cars go missing no?
VT6.0s were built between 2000-2001. 1 of 45 can mean anything, mostly referring to color. From the specific model 45 were painted yellow.
@@lambo1diablo1 2001 sounds right. I think it is a 2001.
Ive stored cars in places similar, they always tell me to keep the keys.
A guy named aleister like alrister Crowley driving a Diablo 🔥🔥
I’d be talking to the guy that stored the car about him maybe knowing someone with a diablo. Maybe someone needed parts and had it stolen or maybe paid the guy to pass the car on. Who knows but idk how the guy storing it just had no consequences.
Glad he got the car back! I'd block his name before someone else finds the guy. He seems pretty easy to fool.
The guy who stored the car is involved 100 percent.!!!!! How & who took the car from stored place???? THIS IS TOOO FISHE.
Can't wait for the updates on this.
Imagine storing super cars on a property without video surveillance 🤯🤯🤦♂️
Pretty wild story. I kind of feel like we’re not getting the whole story here. The dude that owned the storage location thought he picked the car up?! Like wtf, something shady went on. You don’t have that kinda money in cars and private storage and not know who’s coming and going on your property! The storage owner must have know more or been in on it!
honestly I think he might have a better chance of getting Lamborghini to fix it for him since its such a unique car than finding those parts, the parts are 99% part of someone else build and they probably don't even know that they have his shit
True, but Lambo would 100% charge something ridiculous for it and it would be cheaper just to buy another 6L VT
Does Lambo even make parts for an old '01 Diablo VT anymore? What do u mean by fix it for him?
@@DINGOS30 Lambo makes anything you want if you have the money. (Jokes aside, the factory does have a restoration service)
@@lambo1diablo1 wow I thought once a model was discontinued they stopped making everything for it thanks!
We need part 2 when it comes to rebuild
How could someone just turn up and take it without the guy that owned the storage location knowing where the keys not somewhere secure? I would very strongly suspect that he sold it to someone
I’ve got an alpina b7 I would never hand somebody else the keys it stays in my garage under lock key and camera
That was his first mistake
putting a car like that in a barn ?
There are plenty of professional, quality garages. Keep your B7 safe
There’s a yellow VT bumper in Perth australi
Seems that this car was too hot to sell "as is", so those PoS just removed all the valuable items that did not have S/N or unique ID. Those are parts that will get damaged in use, so big money in those parts.
real Einsteins ..
@@storytimewithunclekumaran5004 it's true.
Try selling a VT engine?
..
Quite rare anyone doing a check on the engine number would know it was a stolen engine....
It was obviously to do with the dealers friend! How did he not talk about that?
You cant order these parts anymore? I think every car manufacturer should look at the mercedes classic center. They will produce any part from scratch if necessary. All you need to rebuild a car is the vin and money.
