Madonna at her greatest vocal period (1994 - 1999)
"Ray of Light" was recorded just after "Evita" wrapped production. The vocals on the album are arguably the best of her career due to the intense vocal training she'd taken to play Eva Peron.
She just gave birth to her daughter Lourdes in 1996 and started her interest in Eastern mysticism and philosophy - You sure got that right boys - time goes fast for those who run (hung up song lyrics lol). She was getting in touch with her mother earth moment during that period and she outlived her own mother that died of cancer at age 30 (Madonna turned 40 that year and first-time mother).
Madonna has the best lyrics. She can get very deep and personal in her songs. Please do more Madonna! 🙏🏻 Try "I'll Remember" or "Nothing Really Matters".
Yes, but Ray of light lyrics are not Madonna's at all. Look for "Sepheryn", the song she based on to create this amazing piece.

The song is based on another song "Sepheryn" (1971) by folk music duo Curtiss Maldoon which was on a tape that William Orbit sent to Madonna. She liked it and rewrote parts of it. The video was shot in different cities such as New York, Stockholm, London and Los Angeles. The dancefloor in the club was put down especially for the video

It’s basically saying, we as humans are always going so fast through life, never taking time to slow down and enjoy our time here. We want everything thing fast, and how fleeting time is.
The video took over 2 weeks to shoot, in 5 different cities. Every half hour they shot resulted in about 5 seconds of footage once it was sped up.

Groundbreaking back in the day.
A fascinating detail found upon playing this video at a slower speed: Many of Madonna's shots were done using green screen technology, layering her over the timelapse footage. For the shots of highways and interchanges behind her, the video's production team actually went to the trouble of adding a split-second shadow over her whenever it appeared she was passing under bridges and overpasses. (For a good example, see: 3:47).
This whole album, Ray of Light, is really fantastic from beginning to end. Arguably one of the best albums she ever recorded.
The video is a straight lift from the "Grid" section of Godfrey Reggio's film "Koyanisqaatsi," with score by Philip Glass.

I'm shocked if you haven't had a ton of your viewers demand you film a reaction video for "Bedtime Story." Though it's a relatively obscure Madonna track when compared with her other work, it held the record for being the most expensive music video for years and it's a masterpiece of surrealism. One warning I can personally attest to: Don't watch it after injesting hallucinogenics of any kind.
