      Ikr! Like, what fantastical delusion is this guy on to think that an instrument such as Viola would be alive?
      Also, if it’s delicate and very priceless and all that bs, then why is it in a flimsy box and why is he putting his grubby hands all over it? At least wear gloves and a mask so that it doesn’t get corroded or contaminated or whatever. This guy is talking bull!

    • @tarisio1
      @tarisio1 Рік тому +10

      @@ulfberht4431 No, you are speaking with virtually no knowledge. Yes, using the term "die" is being anthropomorphic almost. It won't die. It will simply be largely destroyed as both a tool and a valuable item. When this was filmed there was no alternative airline flying the route. Thousands of professionals fly with their violins and violas in overhead bins or under the seats EVERY DAY without incident. But any individual flight crew or gate crew can choose to decide that is not possible so every so often a rare ex. Whether that is reasonable or not is a good question, but in any case the musician is not being hysterical, he is just the unlucky one of a thousand.

      @@ulfberht4431Tbf it’s very common for professional musicians to play on instruments worth thousands of pounds, they get handled and used because that’s what they’re made for. The “flimsy box” is a viola case that is specifically made to transport these instruments as adequately as possible.

      @@artman7780 look anyone missing their flight is not nice, but most if not all the time its the passengers fault for turning up late....the airline has to have a cut off point, plus its not the case of "O i'll just run through security" that's what most idiotic passengers say but the harsh reality is its not as simple and easy as one may think
      If one's flight is very important to them because they have an important meeting, funeral, wedding, family gathering, what ever it may be....than one has to give the selves plenty of time and leave an hour or two early just to give them selves a fighting chance if there is any problems on the way to the airport i.e their transport breaking down on the way to the airport, road block due to an accident or just heavy traffic....could be anything
      If they just cant be bothered to leave early than how important was this trip to begin with?
      As for our sex starved friend in the video, well he was only 4 hours delayed so i really couldn't see why he was making such a fuss, unless his girlfriend had given him a time which he had to be their by or else she's closing her legs if he misses the dead line....either way he looked very childish

      Alternatively, buy a seat for it. This is pricey, but it helps to ensure that the instrument will travel safely. I know many people who do this. Violins are so delicate and I would not put one in the overhead cabins. They are very sensitive to changes in pressure and temperature. If it costs that much, ie $150K, then it is prudent to purchase a seat for his violin and that way he can see what happens to it and he has control over it. If he relinquishes control over it, someone might inadvertently drop it or mishandle it. If it is so precious, then he should invest in purchasing a seat for it.

      I actually think that one was kind of a grey area, tbh. He had some decent points with a few caveats attached.
      - If the airline isn't going to accept full liability for the viola while it's stored in the hold then they should have let him know that at the time of booking his ticket. I think as the passenger, he also had some responsibility to let them know in advance which didn't happen either.
      - This obviously isn't a normal piece of luggage and one would think that should necessitate some extra costs in terms of his plane ticket - it's hard to say whether this was a policy issue on the part of the airline or the passenger was just trying to save some money.
      - The pilot would rather just let the dickhead have his way than disrupt an entire flight and cost possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars in delays.
      I honestly think everyone was a little bit wrong here and it's probably the easiest solution just to give him what he wants and send him on his way, for all parties concerned.

      when I was 16 i flew from Belgium to Nepal (Asia) alone. they checked me in but while boarding at the terminal gate , the woman asked me to wait until other people boarded and she made me fill out some paper works ( Parent's name , address , phone and the person that would be receiving me back in my country) . After all that , the woman escorted me to the aircraft and handed my passport and ticket to the flight attended while briefing her on the situation. When I arrived to the transit which was 4 hours in Abu Dhabi , another person escorted me privately to a VIP lounge where everything I wanted to eat or drink was free. Even when I arrived to back to my country , they wouldn't let me off until I met my brother who was picking me up. I didn't have to pay cent for those services . The situation might have been different if i had flown any other airline but I was bought by Etihad Airways since that flight. I had the fly on Turkish Airlines once and I would not recommend it even to my worst enemies, the people on the counter are extremely rude ( the one I encountered) and customer service is 3/10 at best so it is just hit or miss .
