I've once barely made to a plane. Got at the end of the line to the vehicle, got boarding pass and documents processed. They closed everything half a minute later behind me. While the engines started 10 minutes later, I'm 99% certain they wouldn't have allowed anyone else on that plane.
If a connecting flight of the same airline is late,!they often do.
If you luggage is transferred ..they usually do..for security reasons they want yo match the baggage with a person

I once arrived 10 minutes AFTER the gate closed, and still had to go through passport control. The airline treated me like a king and they even escorted me to the gate. Didnt have to pay anything, got in the plane and there was no delay. It was transavia, also a budget airline. So, you are utterly wrong. In fact, your chance of missing the bus is way higher than a plane, as in most cases a plane waits for you, given that it is a respectable airline treating passengers with proper service. Easyjet and Ryanair can learn from other airlines, without screwing up their revenue model. The only reason why they are 'strict' is to steal more money from people in a legal and 'justified' way. That folks, is the shithole we live in nowadays, and you morons are supporting that.

Let me tell you about my experience with easyjet. I booked a flight, arrived on time, boarded the aircraft, arrived at my destination with no issues and great service :)

From 8 of 9 Flights i booked everything went planned, one flight got a delay of 5 hours was not funny with a baby last year in October. But the reason why everything went fine becoz i was on time on the airport with zero stress. Luton Airport last year had a slow pass control, in Vienna i am out of the building in less then 5 minutes if i only have hand luggage.
I feel bad for the second girl; she’s such a sweetheart even while her father is making a jackass of himself.

Former employee of major US airline here. Telling an airline employee "I insist she gets on that flight" is the one way to guarantee that she will never get on that flight. Trust me.
Thank you! I do all of the customer service correspondence for my mum and other family members because they dont understand, like most people, that being rude gets you nowhere. If you're polite, they'll try and help you. If you're an aggressive, insulting and rude douchebag they'll do their bare minimum and sometimes not even that

We're all human and things can go wrong for any number of reasons. That's very stressful and it's my job to try and help them with it. Contrary to what some people think it's entirely possible to be upset, express that feeling and be polite about it at the same time. Just saying: 'I'm very upset right now. But I'm upset with the situation, not you personally.' Can make a HUGE difference.
But people like that Swiss dude going: 'Ok, call the person who is going to take responsibility for my failed business-deal' when he's the one that's late and missed his flight can go sodomise themselves with rusty barbed-wire. She should have just pulled up his own phone number and called it for him. Here you go sir, that's the person responsible. Will that be all?

It has nothing to do with Easyjet. Once the airplane door is closed, the pilots starts the take off procedure. If they open the door, they have to start the procedure again from zero. This applies for all airplanes/airlines.

@@blubbness honestly I won't take easyjet with my company money, I prefer to sleep less or accommodate my schedule to avoid it, easyjet's perfectly fine for leisure but you can't risk a plane to be late or cancelled if you're working (it happens a lot more with easyjet because of their business model and the cheapest flying timetable and parking they rent...), of course doesn't excuse at all arriving late for your flight, I'm personally making sure to ALWAYS show at the airport 1 hour minimum before the boarding time if I have no checked luggages....

The plane leaves in 12 minutes, you don’t have 12 minutes to jump on it. Insane, when I get a flight I’m there with minimum 2 hours to spare.
Not just in the airport though, you have to be checked in and at the gate and waiting on the line at the correct time... if you're hanging out in the bar for 2 hours you can still be denied boarding.

Toured with meatloaf, met my queen (and was treated by her private doc when injured at work) seen all my fav bands for free, or rather been paid to see em, done more than 1 after party with lots famous people lol! Except i spent 3hrs a day in gym so i could eat crap (coz was always working so was always take out food lol!) So when i finally snapped and took them down, the look of surprise was brilliant. I've always dreamed of being the owner of a major airline, so that I could spend every day working at the check-in desks roasting all these pathetic, entitled worthless pieces of garbage and giving them what they deserve, and teaching all the employees to do the same + arranging mandatory courses for all employees on how to most effectively put these people down and insult their intelligence when needed. I used to work stage security and the first thing to learn is how to say "No" to people. I've been offered money and sexual favors, been threatened and insulted just because I did my job and wouldn't let people back stage. One girl offered me sexual favors and tried to grab me downstairs and when I pushed her away gently called me an ugly pig and tried to attack me. She ended up going to jail, the moral is that in a situation where people are desperate, stay focused and don't take things personally, this dude does a great job.

Wade Wilson I don’t work security but I do work retail and over the past year and a few months I’ve also had to learn to say no and remain calm. There are days when the 30 year old man screaming at you infront of his children over something you have no control over gets a little annoying, but I just do my best to tune it out and keep on smiling. As a retail worker I basically do everything from having to calm down drunk people to handle complaints and revolve conflicts on a daily basis despite it not being my actual job.

I once saw a guy try to get past security at the gate to run after a plane that was already taxying away from the gate. He really thought they would stop and let him board.
You actually can though, BUT, this is assuming the plane isn't at full capacity. I've personally seen people board after gates have closed. The airline industry's in the shitter and they want to squeeze in every seat in every flight if possible. It's why they always overbook flights because there is a margin of error pre-calculated that X% of customers won't show.
This should be a pop-up window on every airline website before booking.

Not true. I arrived 2 hours early for my Ryanair flight. Passed through check in and security in 1 hour and sat at the gate for 1 hour. But still my plane was delayed by 1 hour

I have had airline staff help me so many times. Never forgot the employee who had me seated away from others when I was crying my eyes out when my father died and - put me in first class ( where I covered my head crying and embarrassed under a blanket)

I have met wonderful caring staff and am grateful for their kindness.
I always get their name and number so I can contact head office and tell them how helpful the staff was and how much I appreciated their help.

Exactly, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are, once the check in is shut thats it. The airport are not going to delay an entire plane for a few idiots. The reason that half an hour gap exists is so the aircraft is safe for take off. It really isn't difficult to arrive half an hour early for a flight. You'd think if something was that important you'd make sure you arrive in plenty of time. Again, if you went to the wrong airport that's not the company's fault. That's your fault for not reading your ticket.

I remember when I passed the last exam (really difficult one) one semester, packed all my belongings in the evening and then stupidly decided to catched an early train at 5 o'clock am. I managed to got myself and my luggage at the train station, at the bloody platform in time, but I was too tired, so I just rested my head ... I got a feeling, that I was only napping for the couple of minutes, but I actually slept for 20 minutes. When I woke up, there was already my train on the platform. I got plenty of luggage, but I managed to collect it and even touch a button, that opens the door, but the train was already ready to leave, so the doors didn't open. The train left without me and I dramatically collapsed on my knees crying. Around me there was a broken planting pot, with soil spilled, that I broke in the hurry. I realized I behaved like an idiot, but I couldn't control myself. It was probably all the stress from the university that I was crying out 😃

To avoid difficulties, it is better to arrive at the airport two hours earlier, especially for international flights.

Yeah, I always plan to get there way early. You're relaxed, check in your luggage and have time for a nice relaxing coffee. If it's an early flight I'll happily pay for a cheap hotel room and get there the night before rather than having to get up at five in the morning and rush.

I mostly catch trains and have the simple principle that it is better to be 10 minutes early than 10 seconds late.
A few years ago, I organised a ski trip. We flew with Easyjet. The return trip was unfortunately on the last day of the French school hols. Our bus was 3 hours late. It then took hours to get the airport. We just missed our flight.
Without any whining or whingeing, or even asking, Easyjet offered to put us on a flight to Stansted for a small charge (about £15) on the same day, or they were willing to fly us back to Bristol the next day at NO CHARGE.
We opted to stay overnight at a hotel, and have a nice meal and chill out and fly back the next day.
I have time for Easyjet.

I worked for 30 yrs for a major U.S. carrier, everything that happens in the U.S. happens in most other countries. There is a boarding time, if you miss it you’re out of luck. If you have to be somewhere because of business you need to leave your house earlier, it’s the passengers responsibility to arrive on time.

I missed my flight by like 5 min after bordering closed. (We were stuck in traffic for 3 hours, left two hours early but spend 5hrs in traffic) we ran to the counter and i asked if there was chance i could make it and they said no. I kindly then asked if i can be put on another flight, doesn’t matter what time it is, or how many stops, i would just like to make it home. The wonderful people on United found me a flight 3 hrs later, and i would only be home about 2 hrs later than expected. Just be nice to them and they really try and work with you. Just be early to the airport, have a drink waiting for your flight.
Or go to the airline lounge.

You are right. Employees want to help, but within reason. Easy Jet established the close of boarding/check in. They need the time to process the customers. If you are nice. They will help.
Easy Jet were great when myself and a partner completely got the time wrong and rocked up to the counter wondering where our plane to Niece was. We were nice about it and we all had a laugh about it.
The nice lady put us on the next plane without any extra cost etc.

The Airline series has made me much better about arriving at airports hours in advance of the flight. I realize traffic, parking, line-ups and security all play a role in making me late for a flight. Also - when shit happens I don’t freak out. In Iceland our plane was overbooked, and I assumed I’d be waiting an extra day in Iceland before our trip to the UK. I was already planning my extra day in Iceland in my head when we were told they’d be moving us to 1st class. I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t get the extra day - but had a great flight in 1st class splendour!! 😄
