  • @WillRoegge replaces @HertLife's clutch and flywheel - while re-assembling his KA24DE engine and transmission. Torque specs are taken from the Nissan Factory Service Manual.
    This install covers everything except for the pilot bearing removal and install - which can be done simply with a slide hammer and pilot bearing tool.

    I don't even own a 240, and I already know how most of this is done, I just really like your videos and their high quality.

    Man I remember my first time doing a clutch got the flywheel and clutch on then laid under my rx7 with the t5 on my chest trying to wiggle it in for a good hour or so, what a work out.

      Just did an aluminum flywheel and clutch in the Project Street s14 and it took a good half hour of wiggling with two people under a lift to get it back in. Arms were dead afterwards.

    if youve done a top-end rebuild lately get an old inlet or exhaust valve, heat the stem 1/2 way up n then bend it 90degrees . . . . let it go cold, then next time you tighten flywheel bolts insert the bent valve into a high bellhousing bolt hole, let go in the seat face will sit RIGHT in the starter ring gear n lock your crank . . . no more hanging on to a breaker bar while you try n torque the bolts :)

    In an older episode you were drifting with Hert and another guy at Adam's. The black zenki guys said he is running high octane because he advanced the timing on his KA. I also have a zenki s14 I planned on doing this to. Can you do an episode on this? I know you are planning to go turbo so you'll have to revert the timing. So you may not want too. But I'm interested on how much is too far and if it even makes a noticeable difference.

      Super good question, I'll ask Julian Jacobs (the driver and owner of that 14) about it and see if its worth making a video about it. Otherwise might be cool to just do an in-depth look at his black s14.

    I don’t use that grease on the release bearing you’re supposed to use dry high temp grease on the splines and for the release barrings

    I have problem installing tramssion back in 240sx s13. I don't have clutch alignment tool. Any tips on installing pressure plate in there. I think I might have da mage pilot bushing in there a little. I am on my own

      Personal preference. Some Locktite blue won't hurt things.

      what rear tires (size wise) do you drift on? and what pressure do you run in them?

    • @KeepDriftingFun
      @KeepDriftingFun  6 років тому

      Been running Lion Hart 225/40/18s or Nankang 225/40/18s for a while - been happy with them and they're about $48-50/tire. Depends on the track for pressure, but usually 45-55psi.

    What brand of torque wrench do you use?

      Good question, for this video I borrowed one from Hoonigan. Usually I think mine at home is Craftsmen. Got a favorite you use?
