Oakland Raiders fans were a class act that night. They knew what was happening and supported him They cheered for him during the game. Great football fans
My mom had this game recorded and I remember watching the game as a kid and just feeling inspired. The grief he had was so unimaginable but did it for his dad and played the game of his life.
Dec 22, 2003. That was 17 years ago but I will never forget that night. I'm a Steelers fan but I'm also a football fan so I try and catch as many games as I can but when my brother who's older and loves football more than i do "and that says a lot" told me about Favre's dad passing and that he was still gonna play I got goosebumps. Real goosebumps! I knew he was gonna play lights out. My brother called me at halftime and just said " wow, you were right! He's making his dad proud!" I almost cried right there and I was a 21 year old man who thought myself a real man's man! To this day when I think about that game and what he did I still have to hold back tears!! Amazing!
Ppl really wanna shit on Brett for the end of his career but this dude is so important to the game and to current quarterbacks. He gave everything he had every time he came out on the field.
watching the highlights of that game, jesus. Favre balled the fuck out and his teammates were making insane catches. it's really something special when you see everyone go beyond to be there for someone you know needs them. you knew it was going to be something different when he got a standing ovation in Oakland.
I remember this game vividly, I remember my grandmother explaining to me the significance of this game for Favre and the fans. Still one of my favorite MNF moments.
I recall Driver saying he told the guys "Catch whatever he throws, infront/behind it don't matter, catch it" and they fuckin did. Favre and the Packers played their hearts out that game for damn sure and glad I was able to watch it :)
What a great game that was. This was a great segment. I don't know how Farve was able to play that night. Divine intervention indeed. Brady also played in 2016 and in SB51 while his mother was ill with cancer. How he did it, I don't know. Thanks for the video.
Just think... if they would've had that mentality the rest of their playoff appearances, they could've won another championship... Ahh, what could've been eh? #GoPackGo!!!
waterworks....there will NEVER be another Brett...the enthusiasm the country boy the energy...my hero! Aaron might be better but he'll never bring to us packer fans what Brett did
They aired Donald drivers pre game speech to that game, I wish someone would post it. “Today , we catch everything for that man!!”Still gives me goose bumps, and makes me want to lace em up right now..
In the Favre vs Rodgers debate, it's complicated. Rodgers is the better quarterback, but there has never been a white knuckle emotional ride there was with Favre. The man took you white water rafting every fucking sunday, it was unreal.

I’m not the biggest football fan. But even as a kid, that game stood out to me. I knew I was witnessing something special.
the Divine Intervention part got me all choked up... wow
Still my favorite quarterback of all time
I watched that game on TV and couldn’t believe the first half performance. His receivers caught passes that were uncatchable.

This was one of the most amazing moments in nfl history. Proud day to be a packer fan
Proud to say I'm a Favre fan!

I know thats right
I'd like to see another guy play like he did after his dad died...and throw snowballs on the sidelines in other games for fun xD He LOVES the game!
@@joeschmo9838 or looking for Mr. Miyagi, left handed footballs and if there is a game today and what time!
That's right
Greatest gunslinger of all time. True embodiment of sport and football especially. Him and Brady sharing those moments is cool to see also.
Favre has and always will be a great inspiration to Brady.

Wow
The beginning song stops at :36
Use me a love from Raider Nation for that evening.
Brett is the greatest of all-time for my money.
He’s a self admitted drug addict who cheated on his wife and betrayed GB

@@chiefxsha you clearly aren’t a football fan. He admitted he was addicted to drugs and used to shake every night.
Then you are going to be very broke. Brady is the greatest
I'm from Sheboygan. Brett defines Wisconsin.
Is it me or does Brett look way better in his retirement years than playing years?
He's relaxing that's why
@@troyboy1969 Indeed, stress is gone just good times now :) Helps to probably have $100mill+ in the bank ;)

He really did.
You thought
We can win every game
Many were won
Yet many times was like
Wtf just happened
@@chadrat39with Rodgers truly any game was winnable. The run the table run was one of the most remarkable runs ive ever seen

Exactly
