Hi Paddy, i am new subscriber....interesting content and the way you present your vlogs are really good. Keep up the good work . Tashi from New York City
No way, I randomly found this and I’m shocked because around 9 years ago, Paddy was my teacher in that school. Do you remember class 6/7? 😭 I’m crying. I still tell the story about your favorite hairstyle back then 😂 (a small braid) to my friends. You are one of my favorite teachers in my life. Hope we will meet again. I don’t know why UA-cam suggested me this. Fate will it! Ps. I’m not sure you can remember me, it’s Maprang :)
Of all the videos of you that I have watched, this is probably the most personal, the most reflective, and in some ways, soothing. It was like a mini retrospective of a part of your life and all that you have accomplished since then, the people you have met, the things you have done, your thoughts. Very inspiring! I love the filming from the drone with music, the scenes of the beautiful beach and I feel the vibes thousands of kilometres away. Thanks for sharing your experience and opening my eyes to the unknown and the beauty of Thailand! This is LIFE.
I agree too! This video really touched me! Three days ago I booked my flight to Thailand in January and I will definitely go to chumphon! Just to walk on tracks Paddy showed us! I traveled a bit the world when I was in Paddy's age and now I´m 69. But so many things Paddy said in this video reminded me to my youth and my travel experiences. One sentence I pick up from another hitchhiker was: people make places: And when he showed his "family" and people he met or the post of pimramai here.... I almost start crying and that doesn't happen very often..... What a masterpiece of video Paddy!!!! And peace to all of you❤💚
Paddy, this was probably the BEST UA-cam video I've ever watched. Loved it from start to finish. Absolutely fantastic! Even shed a tear or two amongst the laughter. Good luck topping this one. Wow!
I find myself wondering who your parents are, they did an amazing job. Setting you up for a life of adventure and the ability to share it gracefully with others.
your videos are getting better and better. What a beautiful mix of silliness, emotions, memories and personal stories. Thanks for sharing all of this with us.
Must say the whole video was quite blurry.. probably because I was teary eyed throughout. Thank you for everything.. maybe one day I will be able to explain how much it means to me! I wouldn't hold your breath though 😃
Seriously, the best video you've made in this series. Deeply touching. Thank you for sharing your emotional trip, that somehow connected to my own world adventures, & special people/places we come across along the way. Sadness & happiness, so much beauty.
My husband and I are teachers in Cambodia and we have been suffering so much with online teaching, it's been almost 1.5 years since we shut and your video inspired us so much. It's given us more motivation to take time off and actually just live! I also lived in Thailand and feel so nostalgic whilst watching your videos and I'm excited to explore all the hidden gems that you're uncovering.
We really enjoyed this video with your reminiscences and clips of how "it was" and you were. We were lucky and found the right one at school... 44 years later still (watching Paddy) together. Unrequited love must be hard work... your entrance into the pharmacy brought a tear to the eye - a real rainbow 🌈 moment with its pot of gold 🏆.
This particular video, is the best you have ever done. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories with us. Now you aren't in Thailand anymore, so many of your students and friends are missing you. Tears in my eyes😢
I find it really difficult revisiting my past. It either provokes great memories that you no longer have or horrible memories that are obviously negative. I’ve done it a few times; visited old places I’ve lived and it always provoked feelings that just make me upset for whatever reason. Always move forward, make new memories every day, live for now.
This has to be my new FAVORITE video! Really enjoyed getting to know you 😊 Amazing authenticity! Thank you for starting the day off with this! Keep them coming and we'll keep watching! 👀☺️
Funny how the world works…your Chumphon video about memories and your former life in Leeds made me realise that you’re that Paddy, the Paddy I used to work with and drink too much with Coupland, TC and Lauren to name a few. Without realising it was you (we’ve all aged!) I’ve been watching your videos these past couple of months after booking an Xmas holiday to Koh Samui next week. I lived in Asia for 8 years and often worked in Thailand, I miss it and you have done a brilliant job in reconnecting me with the cultures and sights that I miss. Just want to say as a fellow expat and long lost drinking pal who’s had their fair share of rollercoasters, you’re a top bloke and thank you for putting yourself out there to make all this genuine content, keep up the great work and resilience. Have a trailer trash or two on me buddy 🍹 cheers, Alex (Big Al)
My guy and I always enjoy watching your videos together. You exude such kindness, good humour and you’re just so humble & genuine! Love that you always keep it real (no filters), and have a good soul. We need more guys like you out there! 💜 from Montreal, Canada!
Paddy Doyle, the kind of teacher that every kid should have. The teacher that inspires. The teacher that sets you on course for life. 😍 Thanks for sharing this episode.
This was your most personal and best vlogs you have done, Paddy. Thank you for sharing your story! And your Budgeteers fans like me loved the backstory in meeting Lina and Thijs, and we got to stroll down memory lane with you when you referenced Series 2 down Central America. Love it!! ♥️
The older you get the stronger the more meaningful the memories become and you suddenly wake up and realise you have missed out on so much of your life. Lovely to see your past experiences and friendships Paddy. What an awesome video.. thanks
Great vid. As a teacher who has taught in HK, Korea, Japan and Singapore and, on occasion, been back to all of them and dropped in on old friends and old schools, this hit me in the feels. Next levelness.
Hi Paddy! I don't often comment because I just like what you do. But after today's video I would like to say that I enjoy it when you reveal more about your personal journey. This was a truly touching video which actually brought a tear to my eye. Seeing you as a Uni student was bloody hilarious. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
This one struck a chord… The visit must have stirred up lots of emotions for you..with all the intertwining memories and connections emanating from Chumphon. The love really shone through, particularly when you talked about your early teaching days, your Thai family and how you first met Lina.. thanks for sharing that and more with us. Anyway, thought I’d also let you know how your UA-cam therapy sessions are going so far…While I can’t speak for you, it’s all working extremely well for me! Keep it up Paddy, you’re an inspiration.. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Thank You for sharing. We, your viewers and friends love this personal story of your life and adventures. Then reading Maprangs story of you being her teacher just pushed the emotions over the top. You are a wonderful person. Don't change your style of living life to the fullest.
Hey paddy the way you narrated your stories I felt just like as if I was living myself in Thailand. You are really blessed to have spend wonderful life and I wish you more happiness for your great future.
Seriously, I loved this video. It's amazing to get to hear some of your previous life adventures! You really do a great job of making your audience feel like we're all just great friends of yours! Thank you for making us feel apart of the community. You're also just a caring, fun-loving badass. Keep on keeping on!
This was wonderful and teary in equal measures. That moment, my ears could hear your heart screaming for Lina and Thies, to just be there, with you. Nice to have an almost break along your way through all the places. Thankyou for letting us in.
The reaction when you entered the pharmacy was very special. Your Thai "family" never forgot you that is for sure. Emotional and genuine love during that hug.
My sons currently in Thailand islands thanks for great videos, it makes me feel more connected to him, great vlogs, great life, great stories to share thanks so much
Peddy, glad to know and thanks for sharing your experiences, love your positive energy, your senses of humor and quality videos,we’re really enjoying watching your video again and again and again .
You have the best vlogs about Thailand. I watched most of them. I am very envious of your experience traveling all over Thailand. I was born in Thailand, but moved to the US when I was a teenager. When I visited, I normally saw various relatives at only a handful of provinces. I have been to most the tourist traps in Thailand, Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc. But I have always wanted to travel the country the way you do it. Now I have made it a mission to do the same in the near future.
Probably the best, most moving and poignant Vid I have ever watched. Enjoyable too. So personal and yet so applicable to us all. Am loving your journey. Keep up the good work. 👍👍
Hey paddy, ive been looking at your channel for few days, lurking on UA-cam for places we haven’t seen in Thailand (there aren’t a lot). I have probably watched a dozen of your videos and they are great, nice job. But I must agree with the guy that said it was the best video he ever watch’d on YT, this one literally left me shaken, right in the traveller’s heart. You have a great sensibility and I love the way you apprehend things and travel, you look like a great person. I’m really happy I’ve came by your videos, may you have a lot more years of touching amazing trip man.
As someone who's watched several of your documentaries, I must say... this is BY FAR, the best video I've seen. This video awoke something inside of me and has created some new ambition at 43. I'm here to personally say, thank you. Good day mate. Please do not stop doing what you do. I don't myself looking for new content daily. God bless.
such an awesome video and great storytelling! ...thank you for sharing and inspiring🩵 ...and reminding me of my own beginnings in Thailand...it is amazing to have such a special place, a home away from home..
Wow. That video was great. It got to me emotionally. I get sad thinking about the past quite often, knowing that I can't go back in time to experience things exactly as they were. Like others have stated, living in the moment helps. Keep the videos coming!!
This is so beautiful. Going back in time & knowing your story and seeing the laid-back Chumphon was like getting Thai massage to my soul. Lovely video Paddy. Filled with emotions. Great vibe as always. Much love ❤️
Excellent video Paddy and than you for sharing not only your travels but also your personal life. I think the courage you have in just following your dreams without fear is an inspiration to us all. PS I loved the mention of my hometown Leeds.
I really enjoyed your story of becoming what you are. The way you did this was absolute magic. I too am an English teacher who has lived in two different places since leaving the US 31 years ago. The way you talked about your schools, students, friends & favorite places reminds me of my adventures. Thanks for putting your heart and soul into this masterpiece. May you have many more great memories.
This is so beautiful. This is my first video of yours and I'm so emotional. It's always great to see individuals who just do what they want and change when they feel it's time. Congratulations on who you turned out to be and who you were 🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💚🖤💙🧡☀️☀️☀️
creative juices are flowing. I followed you here from the Budgeteers & I enjoyed getting to know you better in this video. Thanks for taking us down memory lane. Happy for you.
My favourite video of yours by far. Having similar sentimental memories of places, experiences and friends in Thailand and around the same time as you, I felt all the emotions coming up for me too, to the point where I got so lost in the feelings during your narration that I had trouble momentarily distinguishing if this story was yours or mine. The power of wonderful documentary film making. Well done.
You are great in telling stories when you are in the mood. 'Stranded on Thai Railway System' was brilliant, and this episode is another one. Lovely music.
You're such an inspiration Paddy...now me and my community are all hooked onto your vlogs...beautiful background story of Chumporn and your journey from Leeds to India to Thailand and Australia...what an inspiration...anything in this world is possible if you dream big...thank you Paddy for guiding 💘
Wonderful and hugely enjoyable episode as always Paddy. Hollywood producers pay millions for scores and soundtracks to elicit emotion from their audience but you need none of that. Your çomfort and ease in front of the camera allow you to tell the story of your life in such a natural and engaging way. I always feel like I'm along for the ride with you and it's a balm in these times to share your adventures. Long may it continue.
Wow…what a fabulous video Paddy. Thanks for sharing some personal things about your life and I enjoyed hearing how you met Lina and T. Thanks for taking us down memory lane👍.
Paddy you have a true gift. Your video making skills and elonquent expressive and often emotional story telling is professional, on par to any TV network. The human connections you are making, are quite profound and life changing. You are my # 1 channel.....thank you for letting us see a piece of your personal life !!!
Chumphon beach looks beautiful! We'll have to travel there soon. Also, we liked hearing your story about coming to Thailand! Enjoy your travels...Gar and Ann
What an amazing video! Thanks for taking us back to the very start of your wonderful life’s journey….it’s great to see a young man share his adventures from the very beginning to where he’s at at now! This video definitely made us go through the emotions with you….and your experiences has made you who you are as a person and we love your personality! Your accommodation was not bad at all and keep the vlogs coming 😉
4:15 Hey, shout out for Leeds. I used in live in Burley near Headingley, in the land of Sam Smith's. (Actually worked in the Tadcaster brewery for a little while!)
As a former international educator for 38 years - 5 different countries ( now retired in Thailand) I can relate to your statement about stress. Good professionals in any job can find their work place stressful because we’re always trying to be better. It was good you decided to take a break but I am sure you will return to the classroom, Paddy. It keeps you young. 👍🏼
You took me down memory lane, too. Travelling is all about those too many awesome moments of living at the right time, right place, right feeling. One day these amazing videos will become memories. Love the attitude and respect for us UA-camrs. You're doing a wonderful job. Thank you,Paddy. By the way, my memories began September 1978. I couldn't begin to tell you what I've seen and done. It feels sad to go back down that long road, but it was my choice to travel. I'm still lovin' it ❤️🌹🌹🌹❤️
Now I follow you and have seen many of your Vlogs, now I understand you more. This is my second reaction on this Vlog. Nice to hear about your interesting life. Greetings from Holland. 🙏
Such a great video to watch. Great personal insight into your journey to where you are now and your achievements. What such loyalty to the children you taught and most of all the fun and humour you brought to their school days. Happy memories 😊
Very moving. Your love for Thailand 🇹🇭, teaching, travelling, and the people you love, just poors out. Real connection. So glad you are making this series, and I'm so looking forward for to the time that 1 becomes 3 again! There will be tears! 😭 ❤️
Very moving Paddy, in this video you've shown something about you that we've not seen before & with it, we can only warm to you & respect you more. Beautiful, informative, simple & thought provoking. An excellent video.

Great story Paddy. I was getting homesick seeing all those places and people that I can’t see and go to.
I've been working at Mantanusorn School Paddy. Beautiful private school in Chumphon province
Hi Paddy, i am new subscriber....interesting content and the way you present your vlogs are really good. Keep up the good work .

Hi Paddy I'm a knew subscriber, love your video, good job.God Blessing
very strange gay you are! 13 year have gone without you learning 3 thai words!!! You just have your nose in the air
Of course I remember you Maprang 💞💞💞💞💞
The use of 'no way' makes you sound like a native English speaker, geng maak!
UA-cam suggested you this because your english is great and apparently you look for travel content in Thailand in english...
Of all the videos of you that I have watched, this is probably the most personal, the most reflective, and in some ways, soothing. I also agree....beautiful personal story...my tears rolled down my cheeks

What a story. You my friend are blessed with a gift.

I think also Thailand, the job with young childen help him a lot on his never ending way 😉
your videos are getting better and better. What a beautiful mix of silliness, emotions, memories and personal stories. Thanks for sharing all of this with us.

Well said Hadi, I totally agee.

Go for it 😃
Lovely to see how you met Lina.
We have been watching Budgeteers Sri Lanka and now India. Loving them. Cath and Kevs x
💘
We really enjoyed this video with your reminiscences and clips of how "it was" and you were. We were lucky and found the right one at school... 44 years later still (watching Paddy) together. Unrequited love must be hard work... your entrance into the pharmacy brought a tear to the eye - a real rainbow 🌈 moment with its pot of gold 🏆.
That is awesome!
This particular video, is the best you have ever done.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories with us.
Now you aren't in Thailand anymore, so many of your students and friends are missing you.
Tears in my eyes😢
Ah thanks for the lovely message
I find it really difficult revisiting my past. It either provokes great memories that you no longer have or horrible memories that are obviously negative. I’ve done it a few times; visited old places I’ve lived and it always provoked feelings that just make me upset for whatever reason. Always move forward, make new memories every day, live for now.
Cool story about your friends Thijs and Lina. Nice to see the 'old' videos and photos. You've got a lot of great stories.
Wow. You are a great man. Working without payment for the rest of the year to make sure student got through everything.
Absolutely!
I lived in Asia for 8 years and often worked in Thailand, I miss it and you have done a brilliant job in reconnecting me with the cultures and sights that I miss. Cheers Ben 😃
Great vid. As a teacher who has taught in HK, Korea, Japan and Singapore and, on occasion, been back to all of them and dropped in on old friends and old schools, this hit me in the feels. Next levelness.
Thanks 😊
You are a great story teller Paddy. It’s so nice that you still have a connection to Chumpon. Keep on making happy memories!
Hi Paddy! I don't often comment because I just like what you do. But after today's video I would like to say that I enjoy it when you reveal more about your personal journey. Amazing! The fact that you could tell the stories as a 'local' makes it ten times better.
Ah thanks ❤️
Thank You for sharing. We, your viewers and friends love this personal story of your life and adventures. Then reading Maprangs story of you being her teacher just pushed the emotions over the top. You are a wonderful person. Don't change your style of living life to the fullest.
Thanks 😊
Chumphon is definitely underrated. We usually stay there a few nights before heading to the Pier off to Koh Samui... it's very very chill...
The way you Thai Family mom said Paddy when she first recognized you was so heartwarming!!!!
It was 💞
Hey paddy the way you narrated your stories I felt just like as if I was living myself in Thailand.

Beautiful vid Paddy. The story of how you met the budgeters, reuniting with old friends, all woven into images of paradise. You've hit your stride!
Thanks 😊
Bro... your best video yet... hands down. amazing.
Ah thanks 💗
the most genuine channel ever, we all love you man, keep making these vids and take breaks (youtube burnout is real lol)
Thanks 😊😌😌
I love the intro you have in each video. The guitar sounds combined with the scenic shots, it’s just perfect!
Thanks 😊
creative juices are flowing. I followed you here from the Budgeteers & I enjoyed getting to know you better in this video. Thanks for taking us down memory lane. Happy for you.
Thanks Jessica 😍
Thomas Wolfe, "You Can't Go Home Again". True, but you came as close as any one could and told a very enjoyable, personal story. Bravo sir.
That was very touching video Paddy. Thank you for sharing more about yourself and your journey, you are amazing individual, stay awesome man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was just wondering how you ended up teaching in Thailand. SO much fun to see your early days videos! Thanks for sharing! We love you, Paddy!
Thanks 👍👍👍
Came for info on Chumphon and stayed for Paddy's back story. Fascinating.
What a life story, paddy. It brought me tears. Thank you for sharing your inspirational life story.
My pleasure 🥰
That's your best episode yet. Not that the other ones are bad, but this one is a bit more special, it has soul & nostalgia. Beautiful Paddy.
Thanks 😊
You are great in telling stories when you are in the mood. 'Stranded on Thai Railway System' was brilliant, and this episode is another one. Lovely music.

Really liked this mate . I’m 40 now and look back on my travels with similar memories . Growth is a wonderful thing
Fabulous vlog. So cool to hear about your story. Thanks for sharing and it looks like it was a special time for you.
It really was
Wonderful and hugely enjoyable episode as always Paddy.

The rainbow in the ocean is unreal. It may a blessing you come back to Chumpon
Alright, hands down your best video so far. This is why we travel and seek out memories. Awesome stuff bud.
Paddy you have a true gift. Your video making skills and elonquent expressive and often emotional story telling is professional, on par to any TV network. The human connections you are making, are quite profound and life changing. You are my # 1 channel.....thank you for letting us see a piece of your personal life !!!

Thanks 😊😌😌
You took me down memory lane, too. Travelling is all about those too many awesome moments of living at the right time, right place, right feeling. One day these amazing videos will become memories. Love the attitude and respect for us UA-camrs. You're doing a wonderful job. Thank you,Paddy. By the way, my memories began September 1978. I couldn't begin to tell you what I've seen and done. It feels sad to go back down that long road, but it was my choice to travel. I'm still lovin' it ❤️🌹🌹🌹❤️
