It is a 30yo bike the oil didn't leak out it burned off past the rings during those couple of high speed long distance days. The Honda dealer will fill oil as per the manual but the old village mechanics slightly overfill to compensate for the burn. Either way you are in for a 10-12k bht top end rebuild then it should be good as new ...don't ask how I know this but it does involve Khon Kaen to Bkk in a day on a 125cc....
Agreed - it sounded like the 125cc Suzuki trail bike that I killed when I was a teenager. That was the rings letting go and making mincemeat of the piston, cylinder and head.
Yes…sometimes we “farangs” get the wrong impression from the Thai con-men, hustlers, or poor customer service in BKK or the tourist towns such as Pattaya or Phuket. The foreigner definitely needs to hit the small towns, and rural areas of Thailand. Though there can be a language barrier, our few words of Thai & Google translate goes far in communicating.
The spired structure is "Viharn Kaew" meaning "Crystal sanctuary" in Thai. You should see the interior. When the yellow lightings are lit the place looks even more miraculous. This crystal sanctuary was actually "finished" around 30 years ago after decades of construction that was extended indefinitely by low funds. All the initial craftworks were done by the locals and they grew and practiced until becoming skillful with them. The roads, the surrounding Buddha pavilions, and the additional exterior decorations and gardens were later constructed consequently each year of additional donations.

Hiya Paddy, your breakfast looked good. Wow, first destination. I have never seen anything like that gold palace. Beautiful. Omg. Dreamy. Has the engine seized? I hope she gets sorted. Thai people are so lovely. How kind. It is definitely nice to be nice. Beautiful mountains. You definitely do not talk too much. Love your videos. Strange the oil light never came on, thinking the motor may be seized, bearings and piston rings, good luck Paddy. Just to add, if they suggest replacing the motor with a 'good' second hand one it may work out cheaper and more trouble free.
Been to Thailand at least 15 times never once felt bored and almost everything about Thailand are amazing! Keep going, will be eagerly waiting your next one.

So cool seeing a video of some beautiful not often shown places in Thailand and the well known awesomeness of the Thai people, unfortunately it was at the detriment of Dreamy. Fingers crossed we see Dreamy back on the road, but maybe with a new engine 😬
Hi Paddy, we think the mysterious field of vegetation is Cassava / Tapioca plants. Sorry to see Dreamy is off the road but I’m sure it’s temporary. Love the series and hope to get back out to Thailand in the not to distant future. Take care
In this province, you should sleep on a raft at the Sakae Krang River and the famous food is actually boat noodles and grilled fish. Here is the Huai Kha Khaeng National Witness, Tha Sung Temple, Khao Phra Chanok mountain.
O my O My Paddy, tbf , this has added another dimension to your fantastic vids. Nothing like a bit of Drama !! Watching this clip on friday night here in Issan, im sure ure making good tracks again... Kudos to the two Thai boys for helping you out.. Regards Big Cee
That's totally normal, I once got a flat tyre and within seconds some guy has stopped, picked me up and took me to a repair shop, and wouldn't take a baht off me! Thai people are really kind to foreigners, it wouldn't happen here in the UK.
I am a world traveler. I have lived & worked & travelled literally all over the world. I lived in Thailand in the 90s, working for an international advertising agency. It was one of many global postings I had. Thailand was, by far, my favorite place to have lived & worked, & also to have travelled. While Thailand is a majestically beautiful country, her people are by far her best & most shining asset. I agree with the poster below who said this video showcases the beauty of this country & her people. It is unmatched. I am fighting breast cancer right now & unable to travel. My prognosis is excellent, thanks be to God, & watching Paddy’s videos is keeping me happy these days & my husband & I plan to visit Thailand as soon as I am able. Thank you, Paddy, for sharing your life with me! You make a huge difference in people’s lives & you don’t even know how much!
Sorry Paddy a bit disrespectful about the bike, poor condition it may be but your riding it around, and having transport is better than none. No front brakes then politely refrain his offer ( risk offending him ) or get his front brake fixed for helping you out. I am sure he would be gutted calling his gesture crap. Sad to hear your views about good intentions.
Yeah I love Paddy but sadly I totally agree. He said it like 3 friggin times by the end and also thanked them earlier in the video presumably hoping they'd see it. I hope they don't seem it actually after that😬 Paddy is great but sometimes he can be incredibly - inadvertently I'm sure - tone deaf
Get a grip. It was a shitty bike, would you prefer Paddy had lied and said it was great? The utmost of respect was given to the guys that helped him out, and the generousity of the bike loan (albeit a shitty bike) was duly acknowledged. Stop looking for something to complain about. The bike was crap, but it's part of the story. Get a grip seriously.
That’s actually a good idea! Paddy gets the bike fixed (too a certain extend) before he returns it. But wait, how is he coming around them when the spare bike is also in the shop? And as a person who knows exactly nothing about Thai culture, how would that feature be taken by the guy who lend him his bike? I’m sure there’s more to the story than Paddy could show us. And as the good guy he usually is, I’m sure he comes up with a good idea to express his gratitude.
@@NightLight04 fixing the front brake could be done quickly. A kind gesture in return for his help. I like Paddy’s vlogs but this expression fell short of his feelings for Thailand people’s kindness towards a stranger. Best intentions
Sup Paddy hope u get Dreamy back on the road, thise Thai guys were so good to help u out, I miss Thailand and the people not to mention the food, safe travels bro good to see back.on the road, bless up from Australia.
Awwwwww poor dreamy so sorry Paddy hope all is well when you get her back & those guys were amazing all the years I have been travelling to Thailand always seen this they are lovely people indeed take care pal 👍
The plants you want to know about look like casava to me. Also called manioc, they are grown for their roots. Boiled as potato subtitute and used to make tapioca starch. I loved casava chips here in the Philippines. So yummy. Better than potato chips. Pretty sure you could find those chips in Thailand too.
@@Ulster_man Ajinomoto is the name of a company who produce monosodium glutomate, or msg which, it says on their website, is made from either cassava, corn, sugar beets or sugar cane. The thais call msg ajinomoto the way Americans call tissues Kleenex, but there is no Ajinomoto OR msg plant.
That crop you asked about is cassava. By the way, corn is a fruit. And seeds germinate, flowers do not. And insects don't germinate flowers, but they may pollinate them. And lastly, corn plants are pollinated by the wind.
Next Level video. Loved it. Wow what a beautiful temple complex. Poor Dreamy I hope that she can be fixed. Crop in field Cannabis?!!! Ha ha. Stay safe Cath and Kevs x

I visited The Golden Temple in Utah Thani before and if you are able to go inside it is absolutely amazing full of mirrors and silver chandeliers with lights shining on them. It's truly amazing!
Yet another great and interesting video Paddy.....I have to say that your presentation is excellent and am so impressed by your production skills. From the seemless choice of background music [loved it] to the linking of your aeriel shots with scenic shots to close-up shots over your lively, humourous and engrossing commentary.......you must be so proud of the skills that you are developing throughout your fascinating adventures.
The gold tiered temple is sweet and looks like it will be lit up at night, thats the shot for your instagram , was the blue and gold structures not worth a look at, but you do have a few more days. The white egrets got spooked thought they would take your drone out. And dreamy.. well I am always amazed how cheap dreamie's physiotherapy is, so hopefully I will be surprized again, even if an engine transplant, tho a competent rebuild would be just as good!
Thai people are very kind - especially away from the big cities. I had someone help me in Myanmar with an electric motorbike. He wanted nothing in return. That room looks great. All I need is quiet and clean. I hope a lot of good comes their way.
My Thai wife is going crazy with your pronunciation. "Khao MUN Gai! Not Khoa MOON Gai! Moon like what you do in the morning!" So much fun to watch you with her here! The mystery plant is called Mansamparang. It's like a casava or yuca plant.
That is real Thai generosity right there......Thai people are so beautiful 🙏🙏🙏 🇹🇭 God Bless Them. Honestly think you should keep Dreamy for sentimental value if it has unfortunately come to the end of the road.
Paddy, so sad to see Dreamy broken down. I hope all goes well & you both will be back in business. Keeping you in Prayer for Safety in your Travels. 🏍💛
Hi paddy as the guys that helped you would not take any cash from you maybe you could use the cash to fix their bike they lent you. New brakes and an oil change would make all the difference to their bike and you could give something back to them. Thanks 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😊😊
I guess they will charge when everything is done and they will also charge for the motorbike rental. They work for a garage service. It's definitely not free of charge.
@@MrX-wg9hx It is free of charge .I know that is hard for the average Westerner not familiar with Thailand out in the provinces to understand .Some receptacle gesture other than strait money is appreciated though .
Love the Thai version of the country road 🤣🤣 BTW the crops the end of the VDO - tapioca or a type of potato - Uthai Thani is famous for Thais for the UNESCO heritage - Huay Kha Keng National Park
I’m enjoy watching your video even I’m Thai. Many places that I’ve never been. Hopefully you like my hometown, it’s Kamphaengphet, not far from Uthai Thani.
Wow.. just wow.. I haven't seen the full video but had to pause to comment of how incredible the multi-tiered multi-spired structure is.. so similar to Loha (iron) Prasat in central Bangkok!!

It’s breaking my heart you always running to trouble paddy. I will praying for you everything going to be okay hanging in there my friend. Take care Joy Bingham .
the piston is probably seized while running dry of oil. Remember to check your oil every day, your 25-30 years old bike is probably burning oil through the piston rings. I think I saw in your previous video you drove 650km in a single day. These bikes have around 1 liter of oil and it doesn't take much to burn it. Drive safe and next time, stop and analyze the situation if your bike makes a weird sound. Worst case scenario swap the engine for a Lifan :) Safe travel Paddy! :)
Hang in there Paddy, you will re-unite with Dreamy in no time! Bless those men who went out of their way to help you out. They are so very kind. Also those plants you were referring to along the road of Switzerland of Thailand, they are actually "cassava" plants. Drive safely. Love, Isa from Down Under 🤠♥️🦘
I been holding back my opinion of the hazards of touring Thailand on a 27 yo 100cc motorbike. It's not made for that, even when it was new. Get yourself at least a 150cc or more. All of your followers will pitch in to buy a stable pre-owned. I know how you're romantically attached to Dreamy ,but health and safety come first. Yours truly.... American expat in Thailand concerned old Uncle Bill
We were also helped by a woman who put our punctured bike rented half way to town , on pick up and send us to Phetchabun hotel..gave them tips anyway ! My wife and myself is now planning a motorbiking tour to Isan soon. Cheers
Poor Dreamy... Get well soonest Dreamy... How nice to have 2 Thai guys helping u...beautiful people! If not místaken the plant u asked when u was at Thais Switzerland was tapioca tree..
That sucks about Dreamy and the oil leak... but how efing awesome are Thai people! Amazing. hopefully, it's not an engine swap needed. Let's see. Also, i think those plants might have been tapioca, but not positive.

Thai people practice Buddhism. And Buddhism has the doctrine on the topic of Brahma Vihara 4 as the basis for living. 🇹🇭
Thai people are so super helpful!!! During our travels we had a couple of situations ne I’ve just been blowing away of their helpfulness 😍
That's honestly quite inspiring, the selflessness of the people to help you like that.
@All along the Watchtower. You don’t know Thais.
Wow it's really beautiful there, I am sorry to hear about Dreamy hopefully the engine is not shot and your back on the road soon. Thank you for sharing those amazing views.
that is why we all LOVE THAILAND !!! you are never alone !!
Great singing. :D
I hope it is not as long as 3 days waiting. Enjoyable video as always. Thank you for sharing. Safe travels. Take care.
Thanks Nicky 😊🤞🇹🇭🤗
Wow what a couple of legends, helping out so much. 💪
Thai people must be among the friendliest people on earth. ❤ from Sweden.

Love Thailand and its people. Hope Dreamy gets well soon, and thanks for still offering amazing views of this beautiful country!
we got everyhing booked bar the flights :) looks like Thailand may be opening up again real soon :) awesome vid, keep smiling :)
That is why i love and miss Thailand so much, the people and culture is what I really miss.
That plant you were asking about looks like cannibis.
They are Tapioca, not cannibis.
The sunlight is so beautiful. 0:33 AWWWW…….paradise..
1:22 When the kitty has more fierce eyeliner than me. 🤣
3:03 Awww… peekaboo kitty!!
13:41 WHOA!! Amazing chivalry from 2 strangers! Angels. (And they took you and Miss Dreamy back to the hotel? Awwww….!! Marvelous human beings.)
19:22 WHATTTT? THOSE 2 ANGELS LENT YOU THEIR SPARE BIKE?? Jesus! I am in awe and soooo proud of my fellow Thais. ❤️♥️💖 I am on tears of gratitude and joy.
21:46 BREATHTAKING!! 😱
Take care
ขอบคุณพี่ 2 คน มากครับ ที่ช่วยดูแลเมืองไทยของเรา ทำหน้าที่คนไทยได้สุดยอดมากครับ
Glad that the 2 guys help you, lucky for you to get help, sorry for dreamy, it will be fix and get back for you to travel again.
In this province, you should sleep on a raft at the Sakae Krang River and the famous food is actually boat noodles and grilled fish.
Here is the Huai Kha Khaeng National Witness, Tha Sung Temple, Khao Phra Chanok mountain.
O my O My Paddy,
tbf , this has added another dimension to your fantastic vids.
Nothing like a bit of Drama !!
Watching this clip on friday night here in Issan,
im sure ure making good tracks again...
Kudos to the two Thai boys for helping you out..
Regards
Big Cee
That's totally normal, I once got a flat tyre and within seconds some guy has stopped, picked me up and took me to a repair shop, and wouldn't take a baht off me! Thai people are really kind to foreigners, it wouldn't happen here in the UK.
Lol u not lived here pal plenty scams go on here mark my words but generally those whonare nice are very nice those who aren't is the opposote extreme
@@thestainless6289 ok Then you don’t understand Face.
A real shame about dreamy, but she's just down not out! Some excellent cinematography. The kindness of Thais is just incredible.
so proud of my Thai bros
and fingers crossed for Dreamy!
Me too! So proud and so grateful. 🇹🇭🇹🇭😇😇
Cassava was the plant you asked at the end of your VDO, Paddy.
The plants you want to know about look like casava to me.
Also called manioc, they are grown for their roots.
Boiled as potato subtitute and
used to make tapioca starch.
@@karentemplesnow8960 Ajinomoto is japanese, and aji means taste and moto added. So used to improve the taste of what you are cooking.
Exactly right. It' is Cassava.
Exactly right, well-informed you, cassava are planted over the country to dump in factory of tapioca starch.
Its Hilarious Yeh
Possibly your best episode, in the way it captures the generosity and awareness of Thai people.
On behalf of Thai people I would like to Thank You for representing Thailand and Thai people.
กราบขอบคุณพี่คนไทยทั้งสองท่านที่ ทำหน้าที่เป็นเจ้าบ้านที่ดีแทนคนไทยทุกคน ให้โลกได้รับรู้ถึง น้ำใจคนไทย
I agree, I am Thai and I got help a lot when I visited Myanmar too. they are so kind and good help.
The view of the drone is really amazing. The temple is really special and interesting. Tq for another adventure video.
Thank you from the bottom of my Thai heart. ♥️💕😇🙏🙏🙏🥰
Great idea x
My guess, they don't want an attractive bike, they'll loan it freely in desperate circumstances, it's always gladly returned to owner are the end.
I think he don't care cuz he said "this bike is a piece of sh*t"
I guess they will charge when everything is done and they will also charge for the motorbike rental. They work for a garage service. It's definitely not free of charge.
@@MrX-wg9hx It is free of charge .I know that is hard for the average Westerner not familiar with Thailand out in the provinces to understand .Some receptacle gesture other than strait money is appreciated though .
Oh no Dreamy! Hope she makes it through. And how lovely the people helping unconditionally. Beautiful!! Also the sound and music is so so so spot on!
Poor Dreamy! I am sure she will recover well. Glad you got help so quickly. I would have panicked!
ขอบคุณพี่ชายทั้ง 2 คน ที่ช่วยเหลือคุณแพดดี้ครับ น้ำใจงามมากขอชื่นชมครับ
Thanks Ash 😄
Correct.
The place is "Viharn Kaew" meaning "Crystal sanctuary" in Thai. You should see the interior. Every walls, ceilings, and pillars inside are wholly covered with white mirror mosaics, making the place look like made from whole crystal when stand looking from the center.
It’s breaking my heart you always running to trouble paddy. I will praying for you everything going to be okay hanging in there my friend. Take care Joy Bingham .
Makes me miss Thailand so much. Such beautiful people x
Absolutely 🥺🤗🥺
the piston is probably seized while running dry of oil. :)
This is why I absolutely love Thailand
Amazing Thailand. Another excellent video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My same thoughts...
Love your vids man. Definitely going to travel back to Thailand next year..all the best from New Zealand.
We were also helped by a woman who put our punctured bike rented half way to town , on pick up and send us to Phetchabun hotel..gave them tips anyway !
My wife and myself is now planning a motorbiking tour to Isan soon.
Cheers
Your love for Dreamy is unbreakable.
Yes definitely tapioca.
ขอบคุณพี่คนไทย2คนด้วยนะครับ พวกพี่หัวใจดีมากๆ
What a day, Paddy!
Good luck with Dreamy and maybe more luck with Gee-Tee!
Thai Switzerland looks gorgeous.
Poor dreamy but with bad comes good and this video is a true story of why people should visit thailand. The people are so selfless and so welcoming to tourists.
Thank you. Im really enjoying your trip. Stay safe. Im sure dreamy will be fixed. Dan from Australia
The golden castle is amazing. Fantastic
Great video Paddy, sorry to hear about Dreamy hope all turns out well
