I can feel lars's wrists burning, they weren't doing the faster stuff as much as they did in their hayday so naturally he's in pain. Anyone who's drummed this kind of stuff can relate, when you're half-way through a song live and your arms have gone so numb you can't even feel yourself hitting the drums anymore, like your arms are just heavy sacks of concrete not attached to you. The hits become inconsistent and the time loosens, but it's not noticeable to many.
Coupled with the fact these guys never really rested and Lars having to get surgery on his shoulders decades later I hear and yeah, he can’t go as hard as he used to. Got older too
His solos are amazing. His riffs are a dream. His beats are awesome. His vocals are fantastic. His bass is great ... ... ... Dont you think they're the best xD?
In the early 90's james played very sloppy. Now that could be because he was probably wasted half the time or because they played the songs too fast live and he wasn't experienced enough to play them clean
