  • Which shallow water anchor will hold your boat in place in adverse conditions? In this video I test the flex of the Power Pole Blade, Minn Kota Talon and Minn Kota Raptor to see which anchor has the sturdiest construction.
This video series is designed to inform the viewer on a variety of topics that can play a role in choosing which shallow water anchor is best for their use. I plan to post a video per week on a number of different topics. Subscribe to see full video series!

I loved this playlist you made . I recently bought two 10ft Raptors and I snapped one of the spikes on my first trip. Might’ve just been really bad luck or a weak spike but I have seen a lot of people confess to breaking multiple spikes. Thought I would add a comment for you and others considering Raptors. Maybe you could do a torture test on both spikes and see which one breaks first.

Interesting, I hadn’t heard of that happening? Any issues with the warranty claim to get it fixed?

@@blakekniesfishing501 they sent one out for free no questions asked but it didn’t take much for them to snap

Good series of reviews! The difference in flex could be contributed to the diameter of the actual poles. I own both. My Power Pole Blade is 7/8" whereas my two Raptors are 3/4". Life time warranty from both companies for the pole. Other then the slight flex difference the Raptors are superior to the Power Poles. Beefier motor, Active Anchor, 5 year warranty and price to name a few.

Thanks! I agree, I definitely think the diameter of the fiberglass rod is a big part of it!

Good to know. I hate it when the boat drifts too much.

You definitely don’t want your boat drifting into the fish!!
