Great review on the Extra 300, it looks really good in the air and you both had big smiles when you got done with your flights. Looks like another winner in the hanger.
Agreed, and sadly we have not had a chance to fly it again since this maiden. It was to windy to truly get a feel for what the plane is capable of. We are excited to do a follow up on this plane.
Great video, great plane too. The wheel spats looked as though the grass gave no problems, if grass was a bit rougher/taller? I ask because I have a Commander and had to remove spats and fit larger tyres though I wonder if it was my inexperience at that time because I've got used to it now , holding full up before rolling and powered landings
Great video guys. After this video, what was your average flight time on that 2200. I want to keep mine as light as possible. Let me know please. Thanks.
Use a 4s/2700-3200 mid ways of the battery area (depending on CG). Swap to a 14x5 Xoar (Amazon) wood prop (allows more 'out of hover' pull out + great slow down for landing.) It is a 3D plane. That being said, u want neutral CG to 3d. I couldn't get my cg back enuf to my liking, so i shaved the back of the battery compartment to move my packs back more, using 4s/2700 30c smart packs. & Yes it is super twitchy out of the box. Mine, on mid rates of 75% (A, E. Rudder is 100% LMH), u gotta go above 50% expo. Hi rates im 85% expo.
We both really like the plane. We have not had enough time spent with it to fully fine tune the setup. Out of the Box with alot more Expo, it showed tons of potential. We did try a different 2200mah battery and noticed an improvement with the CG. So a 2700mah would probably help. Thanks for the sub & watching.
I absolutely love Xoar Props, those bad boys will really make a difference and they just look the bees knees on your models. I had a Katana on 5s with a Xoar prop and it was an absolute animal. It was so fast that the whole airframe whistled from air resonance...lol
85% expo?! How the hell can you even fly like that? Anything above 35% and I feel like the plane is flying through mud or something. So slow and mushy feeling.
I have one and the GC is better with a 3200-3300 4s. As far forward as you can. And you will love that plane on a good day. I set up the rates on a 3 position switch. I have lower rate of 55% and 35 expo. On the 70% rate 45 expo. Tames it right down.
I will not be surprised if we don't end up with a high rate of 100% at 55-60% expo on ailerons. We do plan to try other battery configurations. Its been so HOT that we haven't been flying as much. Good to know info, we'll give it a shot.
Good video but the plane flies like crap if you ask me, and it flies just like mine! Which is why I’m here watching videos trying to figure it out. I’ve done everything I can I even reset the entire receiver and all the controls and it still flies like garbage, even after I add weight and remove weight. Next thing I’m gonna try is to add a lot of weights upfront to see if it finally flies well. Today was my fourth flight with it not good. All my other 20 planes fly Amazing….. this one, I can’t get it to fly normal to save my life! 😂 welp… back to the drawing board and thanks for sharing this video. Now I don’t feel so like the only one! lol [edit] added weights to the nose and a 4000 pack all the way forward to make the nose barely tip forward on the CG, and finally! It flies beautiful! so, just sharing the info.

Love that plane, flown that for a friend and really enjoyed.

It is a blast to fly. Thanks for watching.

Thanks 👍

Typically 3:30 timer. It eats up the batteries!
The 2nd flight was a little over 4 minutes, how do you come up with 2 min, 30 seconds?
LOL, Sometimes we say dumb stuff. Good catch!

Thank God now I don’t feel like I’m crazy because mine is so twitchy it’s crazy! Thanks for sharing

As seen in our video, this plane is harder to fly than some of the other extras we have flown. Maybe it's heavier? But wow...its good looking.
I put 100g on the nose, how much did you add?
I put 2 oz. aprox 57 grams
@LouCosmeRC-ov2ol need to say I removed the wheel spats due to grass, they weighed 68g
It can use some weight in the nose. Nice landings though 👌
If I get one of these it will be my last one for a few years..!
I fly mine for five minutes on a 2200 and it ends up at 3.6 Per cell
Soccer zombie goals are the ultimate waste of a great flying spot.
FINGERS CROSSED!!!! We have not had problems crashing into them. LOL hope we didn't jinx ourselves. Thanks for watching.
