ATTENTION: IF YOU PLAN TO USE FRESHWATER LURES IN THE SURF and have success. DO NOT TELL A SOUL. Gota keep this secret between Mike and us fans and away from the tryhard staltwater jocks that look down at freshwater guys and non traditional salt lures and rigs. Mike you are a true champ! Surf fishing is highly addictive. I know youll be back to the surf in the spring run. The only structure to hit is jetties, and surf structure (throughs, cuts, rips, holes) NEVER GIVE UP!
It is very difficult and very rewarding to catch large stripers right off the beaches in New Jersey with just lures and not jetties, very few have to guts to do it, Congrats Mike !! I fished the Monmouth and Ocean county area beaches for many years. I recommend Asbury Park right in the middle of the two convention centers, that always was a great spot for me to catch them, the water was a little deeper in that 1 spot. There is still 1 half good jetty left in north Asbury if you can get there when the surfers are not there. Bradley beach was the 2nd best beach. With all the dredging they have been doing and the removal of all the Jetties surf fishing got really bad in the early 2000's. An Old timer in the 90's in Belmar told me you often did not need a fishing poll in the 70's, fish would jump right on to the beach. So sad...
Yes!!!! 😃 Man I commented about IBSP on your Instagram post, but I didn’t even know you were actually there! Haha I used to LIVE on that beach man. So fun 😎🤙🏽
Mike, what would be helpful to me, and I believe most of your subscribers would be the lure selection for one 3600 size tackle box. What would you take bass fishing if you were limited to just one 3600 box. With Gratitude, Tom
Good stuff Im an avid surf fisherman and do tend to check out freshwater Bass techniques in hopes it translates into the surf and back bay. Ill be throwing a chatterbait into my plug bag now. It was great to see your stoke catching
Awesome stuff, one of my past loves, surf fishing, need to get back at it...and will definitely be throwing a chatter bait... again awesome stuff Mike, great video!! Thanks
