There are two crirical mistakes that Ace msde: 1) He married Ginger, who had grown up in the semi-criminal atmosphere of Vegas, and 2) He fired the commissioner's brother-in-law, when he could easily have created a harmless fake job for him. The first mistake knocked him down personally, while the second mistake brought down his business.
I'm not sure if you understood when Ginger said she'd been with Lester since she was a kid. He had gr00med her as a child and had a strong psychological hold over her. She literally couldn't say no to him, even when she knew he was using her...
I don’t think it’s quite correct to say she knew he was using her because of that upbringing-Im not sure that she saw it as her being taken advantage of by him, but rather just what she was supposed to do, if that makes sense
I think that’s because in real life Geri McGee ( ginger ) and John hincks ( Lester ) were high school sweethearts but the movie they change that part to put Lester as a villain.
Please add these movies to your list. I love watching your reaction and think you would be amazed by these movies. Apocolypto, Scent of a Woman, One Flew Over the Cockoos Nest and Last of the Mohicans. You will love them
Joe Pesci's character was based on the real life Chicago mobster Tony Spilotro. There are some good documentaries on him on UA-cam, how he went to Vegas in the 70s and 80s and did many of the things in this movie, a lot of that was very accurate. Spilotro was described as a violent psychopath by those that knew him.
Keep up the good work! Two movies you would absolutely love "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (Robert Downey Jr, Val Kilmer) and "Lucky Number Slevin" (Bruce Willis, Sir Ben Kingsley, Morgan Freeman, Josh Hartnett). Both are great, very entertaining and funny with quite some twists and both are highly underappreciated. Here are the trailers, enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/__PnD1HWXSo/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/mGQmSCQrKKQ/v-deo.html
The word "actress", or "actresses", died out a long time ago, because female actors hate the term. "Actor", or "actors", is the only word used to describe their profession.

Goodfellas is another classic mob movie. A Bronx Tale is good too. Both star DeNiro
This is one of my favorite Martin Scorsese true crime stories!
