@1stGenDsmTuner plus its nicer on gas- not as much weight. 2wd is preferred by many who only drive on road... plus pre-runners keep that nice high suspension so your not missing anything.
@chargin07 I think people are complaining because they're selling a truck with the off road package but no 4x4, and yes I'm one of those who are complaining. If you're spending an extra 6-8k on top of the sticker price then you better get a 4x4 or else this is just for looks
@Matanumi Me too, that thing is non-active and just be there for "the look" and costly too. I just like TRD off roead, not TRD Sport....just pay for the look..not me
$32,000 for Tacoma How much for Sierra or F-150 4DR In Japan if u own 2 US trucks u are rich and as always people anywhere they like IMPORT...not except Japanese, they knew their country can built truck and compare side by side with USA, their truck seem to be better and last longer but in people's mind still MUCH LOVE the IMPORT.
@sabbathrulz99 yes, 4x4 and Prerunner SHARE the same BODY If u got PreRunner 2 WD, from far away nobody can tell u got 4x4 or not! INSURANRE u pay for 4x2 but feel 4x4. Prerunner 2WD really call Semi-Off road and to correct the terminology..PreRunner 4x4 this one must call Off-road. I am not sure by mistake or not USA or Japan call TRD OFFROAD no matter 2WD or 4x4 It's WRONG 4x2 TRD should fix the side sticker Semi-OffRoad 4x4 TRD then this sticker say Offroad. Wish they correct.

The people that have them get real sneaky with their wording and are hoping you believe its 4x4 bc of the "Offroad" decals. Yes its 4x2 and kinda neat but i wouldnt trust it too deep off-road. Uts all fine and dandy until your stuck with no reception.

Why are so many ppl complaining about the 2wd. Who cares every one has their own taste. Not everyone goes off roading

In Baja or Desert racing, 2WD trucks are used because they are faster and lighter as well as handle better,
do your Research.
that sucks that the TX Pros don't have the hood scoops! they would look sick.
