TESTED: The UPDATED Nash Dwarf Rod Range

  • The Nash Dwarf range of carp fishing rods offers more than you might expect. Most carp anglers are familiar with the relatively new demand for shorter rods with retractable butt sections but the distinction between Nash’s Scope and Dwarf ranges might be slightly vague for the uninitiated. Scopes came first and remain the flagship, while the Dwarf rods offer a more wallet-friendly introduction to the concept-and they’ve recently been updated…

I’ve just bought 2 6ft Dwarfs 2lb and 3lb tc off the back of this video along with a dwarf bag. Great little package at a great price from Total Fishing Tackle. Not used them yet but I plan to keep this kit in the car at all times for when that sudden urge and opportunity comes to head off to the lake. Absolutely agree, as great as it is to land the biggest carp you can it’s equally important that a great part of the enjoyment is just being by the lake on a nice day; away from the daily stresses and to just to take it all in without a care. That is the beauty of fishing to me and it a welcome form of meditation I’ve enjoyed for the last year and is now a part of my life that I cannot do without.

Brilliant intro! Totally agree that many are concentrating totally on breaking their PB and 'Monster Carp' syndrome instead of enjoying catching and admiring all carp. The heavier ones aren't even always the best fighters, sometimes a small double gives the fight of its life whereas its big brother comes in like a tired bream!

I am considering one of these for my granddaughter, as she loves to come along on my fishing trips now that she is old enough . She is still just 😢under 4 ft in height, so standard rod lengths are out of the question really ( and she isn’t a fan of pole fishing ). I am guessing a 2 lb test curve should cope with just about anything in my local lakes, ( Tench to 8lb and Carp (and Pike) to around 14 lb ) and grandad could always pinch it for a bit of lure fishing 😇

    Are these rods for dwarves?
I think we should call them little people.

The big companies have turned Carp fishing into a commercial circus. The sheep blindly follow the latest trends and products and "Celebrity" anglers are just salesmen.
My joy of catching Carp comes from all methods of fishing for them, and fish of all sizes. I'm happiest float fishing, alone, in the margins with a piece of luncheon meat for any Carp.
