the first alert SA304 is good, but sadly all the 83R's are pretty outdated. the kidde I12040 and kidde PE9E is good, no need to replace as theyre fairly new. i definetly recommend replacing those 83R's because even tho they alarm, it doesnt mean the sensor is working since your simply just making the alarm beep, without the actual sensor being tested when you press the test button. but you should definetly keep them if you get them replaced, as collectibles. they might be rare, and also i dont recommend putting a smoke detector in the kitchen, thats just asking for false alarms. if you really need an alarm in there you should get a heat detector instead.

Try listening with earphones
You shouldn't put that last one in the kitchen. It's already over 10 years old. Get a new unit.
