(This is extremely long, so brace yourselves) Wild theory: After I heard the letter, I began to think of the Jack The Ripper case. The way he wrote the return address as "Hell", the way he spoke, the words he used, the way he taunted the police, reminded me so much of Jack The Ripper. One thing that really stuck out (aside from the constant references to 'Hell' and demons), was the way he wrote "you Orleanians". It stuck out to me as perhaps someone who wasn't from New Orleans and was mocking the residents. Maybe someone who had lived in other places and was comparing them to a place that they thought was better? maybe England? And another one is the confidence that he won't be caught. In the letter, he says "they have never caught me, and never will". This almost makes me think that the reason he's so confident is that he's committed another huge crime like this and wasn't caught then, so he's convinced he won't now. In the Ripper case also, he signed the letter "Jack The Ripper" giving himself the name as if it's what he wanted to be called and known as. In the Axeman letter, he says, "I'm what you Orleanians and your foolish police call the Axeman". At this time, people already knew him as the Axeman, but it just really stuck out to me how he really uses this "title" as his identity. I know all of this seems really, REALLY far fetched, but I think it's possible that the Axeman could've been inspired by Jack The Ripper, or perhaps they could even be the same person? The time of the two crimes aren't too far apart; Jack The Ripper started killing in 1888, and the Axeman started killing in 1918. Now, I know Jack The Ripper killed specific types of people; he mainly targeted female prostitutes, while the Axeman seemed to choose Italian business owners, but I don't think it's impossible for a change to occur, especially if the Axeman was driven for racist reasons. It's said that Jack The Ripper killed seemingly only prostitutes because he didn't like their line of work, so perhaps he would target a different group for racist reasons? That may sound like too much of a stretch but it almost makes sense to me. I just think it's really interesting how similar these two killers seem. I do think it's possible that they could be one and the same, or perhaps the Axeman was oddly "inspired" by Jack The Ripper. I don't know how fast information such as murders got from county to country in the late 1800s, early 1900s. Perhaps the Jack The Ripper case reached America because of how famous and mysterious it was, but to be honest, I'm really not sure. But I do think it's possible that the Axeman could've come from England to America after hearing of the Ripper case and was inspired that way. Perhaps I just sound nuts, and there's actually no way in the world that this is possible, but it's a thought I had and I decided to share it. I mean, there's a theory that H.H Holmes was Jack The Ripper and then ca,e to the states to open his hotel, so I don't think my theory is that out there. This was really long, so if you actually read it, congratulations! Tell me what you think.
The Zodiac Killer also did and said a lot of the same things as both Jack and the Axeman. EDIT: also HH Holmes, his crime spree started as late as 1891, when he was about 30, but probably began years earlier because I doubt he waited that long to make his 1st kill.
TexFactor Tracy I think the ripper would most definitely had died and most likely the axeman would have been dead by then. Also the zodiac killer was said to be young
I really like the theory it j Gets my mind going but now i have a theory for you what if jack the ripper was h.h Holmes or vice versa they both started killing close together they both mostly targeted women they liked to have fun with the killing they also mocked the police and both knew alot about the human body so they could do a kind of surgery but its just a theory let me know what you think
The Axeman is not British. In his first murder back in 1911 when he was known as The Cleaver, a witness said the killer spoke in unaccented English. Meaning the most neutral of English accents, General American. Not only does that rule out a foreigner, but generally rules out someone born and raised in New Orleans where many locals speak with a heavy accent.
Omg on Buzzfeed Unsolved Shane goes on about how fucking cool to say "I'm an axe baby!" They aslo obviously point out why tf weren't people throwing out their axes at a certain point! They are just hilarious!
You should a video on the case on Ayla Reynolds. She was a 2 year old girl who went missing from her fathers house in Wateville, Maine. This was 7 years ago and she still hasn't been found. No body, no trace, nothing. The only thing was her blood was found in her fathers house. I want to spread the word of this case because Alya deserves justice. It would mean a lot, I was following this case as it went on. And it was a very upsetting and heartbreaking. And also congratulations on 600k, I love you and your videos so much!
I was like how many basic comments are going to be like AHS! AHS! Lol. I find it amazing how much people could get away with back in the day. If we didn't have the science we did today, plenty of people would commit murder. These people exist today, they know if they killed who they wanted to kill, they'd QUICKLY get caught. It takes more calculation in the 21 century in order to get away with murder.
@@moxiemaxie3543 You have such a great point. In fact, I’ve come to a realization. All the times you hear in the past how some mothers would leave their families, never to be heard from again. I used to think they were so horrible for abandoning their children. Now I realize there’s a good chance that they were murdered
I have a serial killer case recommendation. So this happened in my hometown of Rockville Maryland. (This happened a while ago and my mom told this to me so I don’t remember specific details) So about 15 years ago, there were a random string of around 10 murders. The victims had been killed while doing things like pumping gas or being in any public places. So everybody was afraid to go anywhere or even be by a dark window. So they found the killers (don’t exactly remember how) but it was a man and a teenage boy. So the end goal of these random murders was to kill the man’s ex wife. They killed 10 or so people just so the man wouldn’t be a suspect in his ex’s killing. I have commented this on a couple of previous videos.
does no one else think that the idea of crawling through the bottom panel of the door is rather impossible, and maybe instead he knocked it out to perhaps reach up and twist the door handle open?
could be possible he got in a different way but used this to distract authorities so people would be worried about the door but not think of the other way he actually got in
I think the razor was probably something the brother gave to him to do his own beard, and the ax man used his own razor on him. It makes sense since he uses the victims axes, or things in their homes.
Hi. I know I'm not a member but I'd like to put the Dylan Redwine case forward as a suggestion. You probably know it already. It was a boy that went missing but then turned out his father was involved. I cant find many videos on this case and would like to see someone cover it.
Who else knows about this from American Horror Story? Edit: Apparently Eleanor😂 Edit 2: Oof this is the most likes and replies I’ve ever gotten. Even Eleanor liked it.😱
I remember this story from “American horror story : the coven “ . The show didn’t go in depth but once you said “playJazz on Tuesday night “ I knew because there was a scene of the axeman walking down the street while every block playing jazz
I've tried watching other true crime youtubers but I always end up getting confused with their recounts of the stories, but never with you. You break down and explain every story so well. Congrats on 600k you deserve it!
I love listening to true crime videos, especially Eleanor’s because of the way she presents them, Every time I have to study I put on one of these cases and listen along while I study xxx
lowkey same. All of these insane head injuries makes this case IMPOSSIBLE to solve because they’re not even reliable witnesses. Injuries like that can cause brain damage, which can affect reasoning, memory, nerve, empathy etc In my opinion (based off of what I’ve heard) is that it’s a group of people kinda like a gang. They’re given a basic MO (use a weapon from in the house and dump it. Use ~this way~ to get in. Wear ~this~) and then just go out and kill. That explains the different weapons, the varying type of injuries and the seemingly random array of victims. Especially bc some of them had life threatening injuries while others survived. I don’t know what the group would want or who they’d be but that’s my theory.
There's a case currently going on over here in canada that I think you might find interesting. Earlier this summer in british Columbia (my province) a couple, one from the us and the other from Australia, who were going around in gheir van, were found murdered. Not long after that a burnt out truck belonging to two (now 19) year old boys was found near yet another dead body. The boys fled across the country and were named suspects. They have been suspected to be hiding in the Bush in manitoba for the past few weeks. Just today two bodies have been found near an abondoned rowboat believed to have been theirs. The bodies have not yet been identified. Theres a lot I have left out, but this case has been so interesting and has felt like the plot of a movie. The names of the suspects are Kam Mcleod and Bryar Schmegelski (I have have spelled them incorrectly). If anyone else is reading this I suggest reading about the case as well.
Please cover the Nora Quorin case it’s super recent and in-fact she went missing a couple weeks ago, and they found her body a couple days ago. it’s kind of similar to Madeline Mckann and it would really mean something if yo covered it coz some old friends of my family were very close to this family and we met the Quorin family a couple times and they were sooo nice. it is unsolved but I’d really like to hear your take on it. maybe not right now though coz at the moment there isn’t that much that the public know. please cover it in your own time.💕
I kind of feel like the letter makes sense of how they were suppose to play jazz music in their houses that day since New Orleans was like the main point of jazz
Could you please do the case of "Fiona pender" I'm from Ireland and in my county Fiona pender went missing , it's really well known in my town but I don't think it's well known around Ireland or the world
"Show your Talent and you can win a one week Holiday.." Me: "Yeah i can show off my bodypainting skills" "...in Berlin." Me, living in Berlin :🙄 I absolutely love your Channel, there arent any good german true crime channels, so i just binge watch your videos 💜
Please do a video on Nora quoirin. The case is still ongoing and a body has been found near the scene, there’s a lot of similarities to the Madeleine McCann case also and would spread a lot of awareness. Especially for families planning major holidays with young children.
and American cases It's probably easier to find information on them in English, instead of needing to translate it from Spanish or whatever original language
I saw this covered on Buzzfeed a while ago and they went pretty in depth about it, but I still watched this video because you always add something new. You do so much research and it shows. (Congrats on 600K! You deserve it
I’m just watching this one for the second time in case there were bits I’ve missed as I always do with you videos. I’m only 6 minutes in but I’ve got to say you already show what a sweetie you are. With the first murder how you find something positive like his brothers being with Joe when he died and that comfort. That’s the type of thing is pick up on, the he wasn’t alone just concentrating (and probably feeling guilty) that his wife was laid there dead and he hadn’t protected her and saved her even though there was nothing he could have done xxx
This is interesting and it shows how much technology has changed, thank you for covering one of my favourite cases. Edit: Ah just finished watching, you always add so many new points to any case with the amount of research you do, love you!
Eleanor, I’d just like to tell you how amazing you are at explaining the stories you are just so good 😊 you’re voice is so easy to listen to! Congratulations on 600k 🥳 and I’m sure you’ll hit 1 million very very soon! ❤️❤️
If you haven’t covered it yet New Orleans is also known for the South side strangler! With so many people uniting to show that even police can be criminals ;the South side strangler is definitely an example of abuse of power in the department!
Literally was watching this video, paused towards the end to get a blanket cause I was freezing. My mums room was pitch black and I walked in to see my sister standing in there alone and I got the biggest fright of my life. I usually don’t get scared at true crime stuff but just the thought of someone attacking you while you are asleep scares the shit out of me
Theres a case going on now a teenager girl called Nora she hasnt come home for 4 days it just come on the news so if they solve it maybe you could do it xox
Penguinstudios123 she does recent MISSING cases(as in the person is still missing) but if they were found and it’s not a good outcome she does not cover it but she does give updates for cases she’s done before
I hate getting calls in the middle of a great true crime episode...it always makes me wanna start over cuz Eleanor is awesome at telling her true crime information
(idiotic theory, but could be true?) the clothes were said to be soaked in blood and this was the early 1900s, technology really wasn't there, and wasn't the best. since they WERE soaked in blood, maybe it was too soaked to be tested for DNA? as eleanor stated, DNA testing wasnt really a thing so it had never been tested. nowadays, we have some good handy dandy technology, but since this was over a century ago, its possible the evidence is too old. you commented this a year ago but i replied a year later. i was confused as well, maybe this helped?
I wonder if they still have the clothes the axe man left in the first house in an evidence locker some where because with the dna technology we have today the axe man would be identified.
Just got home from the hospital after an operation on Monday and this is perfect.Thank you for making such great videos, Eleanor! Greetings from Germany!

S. A. M. E
I listen to them while I do chores and make braclets
How do you concentrate? I literally have to do something mindless like a jigpuzzle or coloring so I had something out of this.
Please talk about Sarah Maynard. The girl in the leaves. It’s a really interesting case!
I like the unsolved ones because it makes me feel as if i can solve it
lowkey same. All of these insane head injuries makes this case IMPOSSIBLE to solve because they’re not even reliable witnesses. Injuries like that can cause brain damage, which can affect reasoning, memory, nerve, empathy etc
In my opinion (based off of what I’ve heard) is that it’s a group of people kinda like a gang.
I always think that and want to but this was over 100 years ago all the people that could help will be dead now like witnesses or survivors
"you dont just see police out and run" Well. I'm sure we all have thought to do it at least once. This guy was just a legend.
i'm kinda obsessed this case tbh,and i'm so happy you covered it,what a queen
Cameron Mat as a canadian i heard alot about that on the news its everywhere
Please cover the Nora Quorin case it’s super recent and in-fact she went missing a couple weeks ago, and they found her body a couple days ago. it’s kind of similar to Madeline Mckann and it would really mean something if yo covered it coz some old friends of my family were very close to this family and we met the Quorin family a couple times and they were sooo nice. it is unsolved but I’d really like to hear your take on it. maybe not right now though coz at the moment there isn’t that much that the public know. please cover it in your own time.💕
this case is so sad, but i’m happy for anna and her baby, is such a miracle💗
The 16 dislikes are from the Axeman’s different accounts

I accc freaking love her she always puts her all in to these videos thank youu ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
Hannah Mariam love your name!!😍😍
Isabela thank you ❤️❤️
I love this case and saw it on buzzfeed unsolved. So I’m happy you’re covering it
I kind of feel like the letter makes sense of how they were suppose to play jazz music in their houses that day since New Orleans was like the main point of jazz

Is it just me who finds unsolved cases so much more interesting? There are so many possibilities and I lay in bed all night thinking about it. :’)
Please do a video on Nora quoirin. The case is still ongoing and a body has been found near the scene, there’s a lot of similarities to the Madeleine McCann case also and would spread a lot of awareness. Especially for families planning major holidays with young children.
Could u do one from Mexico??? It’s ok if u don’t but I’ve never heard a true crime video from there. Btw love u ❤️❤️❤️
bella fiori has made a video about 43 missing students from mexico, i think
heaartzz thank u! ik abt her but I feel like Eleanor should do it I like her a little bit more.

It's probably easier to find information on them in English, instead of needing to translate it from Spanish or whatever original language
hi!! what foundation do u use? your skin looks FLAWLESS!!! your hair looks super great too. drop a hair care routine?
I saw this covered on Buzzfeed a while ago and they went pretty in depth about it, but I still watched this video because you always add something new. You do so much research and it shows. (Congrats on 600K! You deserve it
Can you cover the case of Alexandra Noble? If you do, it'll definitely be short but it means a lot to me for personal reasons.
Imagine this:
Ax man: hey I'm here to kill you where's your ax.
Person: I don't have an ax.
Ax man: ight imma head out then
😂😂😂😂
I remember watching “The Originals” and they mentioned something about the axeman
Also in the vampire diaries, with Stefan beeing jack the ripper
Miss A he wasn't jack the ripper. but damon was referred to as "son of sam" who is a known serial killer
If that note was true, the blood couldn't have come from his clothes bc he left his clothes at the scene.. I doubt it was though.

"I enjoyed researching this one, because I thought it wasn't real.. My whole bloody life"

im literally from Louisiana and this story is sad bc the killer wasn't lawfully identified

The axeman: "as long as yall got that jazz we good."
I usually don’t get scared at true crime stuff but just the thought of someone attacking you while you are asleep scares the shit out of me
I’ve been waiting for her to upload 🤣❤️

But I watch the video anyway

Theres a case going on now a teenager girl called Nora she hasnt come home for 4 days it just come on the news so if they solve it maybe you could do it xox
Itz Clodagh she’s said she doesn’t do recent cases
Roxanne Kellett when did she say that?
Roxanne Kellett bUT she’s done one before?
Penguinstudios123 she does recent MISSING cases(as in the person is still missing) but if they were found and it’s not a good outcome she does not cover it but she does give updates for cases she’s done before
ziva korljan isn’t that what they were asking for tho? A current missing person ?
I hate getting calls in the middle of a great true crime episode...it always makes me wanna start over cuz Eleanor is awesome at telling her true crime information
I feel like the letter about the Jazz bands was more of a taunt. He liked having the city scared, and hearing the jazz music let him know he won.
I’m confused about the first case of the Maggio’s and why the pile of bloody clothes from the murderer wasn’t investigated?
(idiotic theory, but could be true?) the clothes were said to be soaked in blood and this was the early 1900s, technology really wasn't there, and wasn't the best. since they WERE soaked in blood, maybe it was too soaked to be tested for DNA? as eleanor stated, DNA testing wasnt really a thing so it had never been tested. nowadays, we have some good handy dandy technology, but since this was over a century ago, its possible the evidence is too old. you commented this a year ago but i replied a year later. i was confused as well, maybe this helped?
The 1 person who disliked the video was probably the axeman

I wonder if they still have the clothes the axe man left in the first house in an evidence locker some where because with the dna technology we have today the axe man would be identified.
well, it was 1918 so probably not.
They can identify his family lineage
