As a last minute voter who doesn’t answer spam calls and doesn’t read unsolicited texts, I really needed this. Thank you

I love how most of the candidates beat around the bush instead of actually answering most of the questions. These debates need to be better sourced to see who's actually good for our community.

There must be a state of emergency declaration on homelessness in Denver. Half a billion to a billion dollars annually must be redirected at housing people and not maintaining and subsidizing the homeless industrial complex. Denver City Government must be audited more often and rigorously. When they are not cooperative they should be removed from office.

      >redirected at housing people
most homeless are not just down-on-their-luck regular hardworking people, they're either drug addicts, or mentally ill, often both. There have been studies done where homeless are offered housing in exchange for entering rehab and ending drug use, and they have preferred to continue using drugs rather than accept free housing. In cases where the homeless drug addicts were given homes regardless of their drug use, the homes were often destroyed in short order. Yes homelessness is a major problem impacting many places around the world, but blindly throwing money at it to provide housing is not the answer.

@@mortox2k we are already throwing too much money at it, all of these candidates have no idea how to fix it, one way would be to provide housing, which we have not done on a large scale, or second, actually enforce current laws but the issue is cops are babies and refuse to do their job ever since 2020, because people happened to point out their flaws

Terrance Roberts didn't get the same amount of opportunity to speak and that saddens me. He's the only authentic humanist who has a strong plan, not just position, to address these issues. Terrance Roberts for mayor!

He sings a good tune, and seems in time with the rhythm. I like him the way I like Fetterman in PA, that he's got enough life experience to see more than the common line and wants things to be better for everyone.

He seems way too focused on the small percentage of people who “choose” to live on the street

@@LetsBeHonestImAPrat That portion of the homeless population, whether large or small, is causing chaos. I work downtown and see people pooping, screaming, fighting, smoking meth, etc. every day. They need to be directly addressed.

@@chinafeild all of the things you listed are already crimes, the problem is cops refuse to do their jobs because they are babies. Also, the homeless population is out of control because neither party wants to fund mental institutions, Saint Reagan was the first to defund mental institutions.

I have a solution; people moving here from
California, and the east coast driving up our housing costs so natives can’t live here anymore should
Pay a tax if they want to
Move here. A Colorado tax that goes to more housing and affordable housing being built.

You want to tax people moving here and not natives ? Yeah, that will help the city grow and attract people lol How about we just tax the rich

@@camronRD the problem is more that the city hasn't grown evenly, maturity being a major lag, and you'd be right to say the fly-ins haven't pulled their weight in the changing of our culture. Boston is our real sister city, designed by the same folks, and we can learn a lot of how not to develop from their several decade lead. Being "non-native" myself, though currently built of mostly Coloradan material, I feel a particular connection to both camps and think a few points should be clarified: low output begets low equity, cities should not have internal walls in today's age, and we're all Americans.
The skyscrapers of our downtown may have been built as shiny baubles for the wealthy cowboys, but they represent a chance at a vibrant metropolis. You can want to be part of that, or take a seat on one of the many surrounding farms (as was told to me in business school).
