  • I've been meaning to do a cover of this since I got my David Bowie Stylophone last Christmas. This song is outside my vocal range and difficult to sing, but I gave it my best shot. I've always loved this 1969 Bowie tune.

Great job! Best cover I've heard of a song that's obviously not just a sing-a-long ditty.

I really appreciate that. thank you. It wasn’t an easy one to arrange, but I’m pretty happy with the result.

That was fun! Im guessing you've listened to the isolated stylophone track on the original. Happy sunday

Thanks for checking it out. I was surprised to find out there are actually 2 stylophone tracks on the original recording. They're an octave apart. So David probably played it with both a black stylophone (standard octave) and a white stylophone (treble octave). At times they play the same the same thing (just an octave apart) and at other times they play different things. I developed this arrangement based on the lower pitched Stylophone.

Very impressive version of a fantastic song! This is one of my favorite, if not the #1 favorite, Sunday song you have put out. Hard to beat a great Bowie cover for my Monday morning coffee.

That was out of this world!! I was excited by the title and it didn't disappoint. I love the placement of the alien head in some of the shots, perfect.

I really appreciate that. It was a bit of a stretch for me because Bowie had such great vocal range. In creating this simple 2 part arrangement, it became apparent how much of a master songwriter he was. It's so simple but it sounds very complex with the way he uses intervals and chord tones. Brilliant.
