Vandara Costa Rica: Adventure and Wellness Day Trip from Guanacaste

See what our visit to Vandara Explore Costa Rica's Nature was like: an adventure and eco park in Northern Guanacaste, near the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. We did their Explorer Pass - ziplining, horseback riding, waterslide, cultural experience, lunch, hot springs and mud baths. This is a fantastic day trip from Tamarindo (2 hours), Papagayo Peninsula (1.5 hours) and Liberia (50 minutes).

good morning guys my name is Samantha and welcome to the Mytanfeet channel. In this video today we are visiting Vandara park here in the Guanacaste province near the Rincon de la Vieja volcano. Lets go and see what activities they have
Vandara is 2 hours from Tamarindo and a little over an hour from the Papagayo Peninsula so this park is a fantastic place to visit for an adventurous and relaxing day trip.
The order of your activities will vary here in Vandara because it depends on your schedule. For today we are going to go horseback riding first to do the zipline.
The horse back riding is very nice and they have calm and steady horses so don't worry if you have never ridden a horse before as they know where to go and you will have a couple of Costa Rican cowboys to guide you. You will horseback ride through the forests for about 30 minutes to reach the beginning of the ziplining tour.
We just got to the first cable to start the ziplining tour after the horseback riding.
Their ziplining tour has 8 platforms, all with beautiful views of the rainforest. One of the cables has a great view of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and you will also zip over the hot springs and a river. This is not a super high adrenaline ziplining tour and they have an automatic braking system, so it's ideal for anyone who may be scared of heights or have never ziplined before. The guides were very funny and definitely made the ziplining experience more enjoyable.
Just finished the canopy tour, super fun, great views, feels very safe, highly recommended, especially for families and first timers. Now that we've finished the canopy tour, we are going to head to do the cultural tour which is a short presentation of sugar cane and traditional Guanacaste snacks.
This is Caramelo and he is the ox that powers the machine that processes sugar cane.
Their cultural tour includes a short presentation about the traditional Costa Rican way to process sugar cane, a very important crop in Costa Rica. You will get to taste the sweet juice of the sugarcane straight from the mill. The tour also has a display of Costa Rican masks, which represents famous indigenous myths and legends.
Afterwards, you'll sample some delicious Costa Rican coffee made the traditional way and taste some local Guanacaste snacks.
Next up we are going to kind of the thrilling part of the tour and we are going to do a waterslide, this is a 400 meter waterslide in the jungle, let's go.
This 400 meter or 1300 foot long water slide was a great compliment to the tour. There were some fast sections and some slower sections, and I was very happy they gave me a tube to hold onto. Anyone who likes rollercoasters or rides will really enjoy the waterslide.
We just finished all their super fun adventures like waterslide, horseback ride, ziplining and cultural tour so now we are going to relax in their hot springs and enjoy their mud baths.
Their hot springs are naturally powered by the nearby Rincon de la Viejo volcano and their main pool is absolutely beautiful, situated right next to a river and surrounded by rainforest.
To enhance your hot spring experience, they offer mud baths to feel like you're at a natural spa. Enjoy a natural mud bath to exfoliate and power your skin.
Their hot springs has a swim up bar so you can enjoy some refreshing drinks, smoothies and cocktails.
We visited both of their hot spring sections as they have another pool that is a little bit more private and hidden before we had a delicious lunch.
