I love how the story seems to be about "look at the awesome man who made it possible for this awesome game to be played world wide!" - but the movie is made for exactly one (1) streaming service which is connected to one (1) of many possibilties to access the internet, but specifically making only their own devices and operating systems which mostly refuse to work with any other devices not made by that brand. Just my kind of humour :')
Tetris is still the best game. But, sadly the the inventor, Alexey got nothing from his invention. No one can do what Hank did without a strong will, determination, commitment, courage and a vision.
Suprisingly, most of it is true, except for the intensity the Soviets/KGB came down on Elorg and Henk. They didn't care nearly enough, so things were mostly civil. And Go was very popular in Japan
The Soviet union was on the collapse end of history bankruptcy will do that. So a video game designer was far from there concern it was attacking Russians in the movie due to the recent conflict
Just to those in the comments, while the film does have some truth in the story of licensing Tetris, the movie takes a LOT of liberties for the sake of telling an interesting story. If you're interested in the true story, I would recommend the Tetris documentary by the youtuber The Gaming Historian.
Not all that accurate but interesting nonetheless. The best & most accurate Documentary I've seen on the subject was done by the Gaming Historian. He did a fantastic & in depth Documentary here on UA-cam that all fans of this movie should check out!
