Huge respect for the clarification that DRIVERS ARE OK and not trying to clickbait the crash with uncertainty.
Ikr I loveeeee when any video that shows some sort of crash makes it clear if they are okay or not! But it is so rare to see..
This actually very good point! Thanks for bring it up!
That's not why they do it. They do it because otherwise UA-cam would pull the video or demonitize it if anyone got seriously hurt in the crash. You shouldn't praise them for sucking UA-cam and advertisers dicks.
This is not some random individual UA-camr trying to get views lol
This is way way better than f1
Modern motorsport is so awesome for being this safe, unbelievable that people just walk out of this.
Absolutely agree ❤️
People have been able to walk away from this since the 80's
Crazy how we can protect the Pro's with tech but not avg people.

WRT had the worst luck today. 🤦🏻♀️

@@JoSkEsZ WRT was at the wrong place at the wrong time
cadillac thought he was gonna break
damn that was a hard crash, glad both drivers are ok
Was a shock to watch live, fastest red flag ive ever seen
Starting to believe that Spa just does not like the cadillacs as Renger van de Zande had a huge crash last year
Even the Porsche
Imagine without concrete wall, he easily going up to the catch fence
SPA likes no one.

still im convinced it has beef with Cadillac
@@aelianeveningfalls4291Spa Francorchamps never liked Porsche LMH and Cadillac. The Jota Porsche #5 was also out in that race.
Earl was too anxious there. That was an avoidable crash.
Not really.
@@Maverick9kIt was avoidable if he had more patience
Looks like there could be some damage to those cars.
He was running so well... Just over anxious. I think Cadillac knew a podium was on finally and he just pushed it too hard... Damn.
@@Maverick9kit was avoidable, but it would've been close as hell
that was insane! poor WRT got smashed by hypercars today
One of them is their own Team’s hypercar

本当に良かったです!
Sheesh spa has been smash city this weekend. That was rough.
I count at least 10 cars have BIG damages throughout 6 Hours of Spa.
Honestly the figure could be much smaller if the drivers pondered risk x reward a bit better. I admire their bravere but they ruined it all for their teams for often very small advantages. Bamber specially was driving so well, he would be able to overtake latter, but he got very greedy there...
Such a shame. My auntie and uncle used to teach Earl Bamber in New Zealand when he was a boy. So I’m really glad he’s ok.
Oh my God Cadillac is cursed at Spa.
Edit: guys, cursed as in never to finish. They've not finished yet at Spa, be it themselves or otherwise.
Even the Porsche
not cursed just bad driving
How is that a curse or bad luck?
That was an embarrassing driver's error.
not cursed, but a dumb reckless driver
@@Cerce7But if you recall last year a Cadillac did crash something like this type of damage
Being a cadillac fan is painful.
Being a Cadillac owner is much worse.
I apologize, it's caused by me rooting for them, happens any time I pick a favorite
There's still Laguna Seca to go this weekend.
You guys will do it eventually! I have belief my beloved Peugeots will win some time, maybe even Le mans
@@dougdavis8986what caddy did you own and why was it sh t
Huge respect to WEC for the clarification in the video, and huge applause to everyone associated with keeping the drivers safe, amazing how violent and dangerous these crashes can be, yet the drivers walk away unharmed, in almost all motorsport.
Total driver error, Porsche may have moved a bit, but that is who he was racing, so no issues in my mind. Bamber's lack of patience and situational awareness was totally lacking. 2 Hours left in the race, no reason for last lap heroics at the 4 hour mark. Man, every angle he just moves way too early, not close to clear.
That's the worst thing that Cadillac could've done, that was a way too impatient move that ended in a very serious accident. Glad to hear that everybody's ok, but that was borderline suicidal
Too much optimism form Bamber there
Bamber should've waited 4 more seconds before making a move.
If you watch the space between the Porsche and BMW, the Cadillac could have fit through if the Porsche didn't move across the road. It's particularly evident at 1:22
It’s true he would fit
ah thanks, thought i was the only one...
No he wouldn't have, watch the onboard. This view is deceiving
Not defending the Porsche driver here, that was a shitty move, but ultimately it's the Cadillac driver who collided with the BMW. That gap was always gonna close, it was insanely risky to try to go for it. It's multiclass racing, sometimes you have to lift even when you really don't want to.
It was a valid move, the overtaking car was desperate to get to the inside for the next corner and was responsible for the crash.
I keep replaying the part from 1:01 , the view from the back of the Porsche is fascinating in every kind of way
Shows how much the Porsche moves to defend closing gap on the Caddy.
@@stuartmoseleyDon't forget, the track has a bit of a right handed sweep to it there, to front on shows the Porsche looking to be right in the middle as the track striaghtens, leaving more then a car width to the left of the Porsche, and less then a meter to the BMW on the right.
All this is the consequence of 2 factors: the GT3 panzer completely unwind the Cadillac which rushes to the right of the Porsche No. 99, whose driver I would describe as a little "assh..." while changing line at 300km/h.
one of the few people here who sees what actually going on. if that porsche held their line the crash doesnt happen. that porsche tried to block too late and the caddy tried to avoid it
As a Cadillac Racing fan, this broke my heart, both IMSA and WEC have seen the caddys having awful luck eith the exception of Long Beach.
I beg to differ, this had nothing to do with luck the more with poor situational awareness!
That was piss poor driving
@@scotturich i agree, i should’ve specified, but yes this and the incident at sebring has me scratching my head at cadillac.

I have watched this scene about 20 times now but I still get absolute goosebumps every time again
if you pause at 1:23 that porsche started to move into the other drivers lane
The Porsche had overtaken the Beemer and had an open road in front of him. He was free to move wherever he wanted. It was Bamber's responsibility to gauge the gap and react to the Porsche in front of him. The Porsche didn't swerve or change lines agressively, Bamber was just impatient and misjudged it. End of.
@@jbin2424 that porsche blocked too late causing the crash, if the driver held his line the crash doesnt happen. so it has nothing to do with gauging a gap
@@jbin2424 pausing at 1:22 there was clearly room for 2 cars until the porsche driver changed his lane at the last second. im not sure where you are getting gauge the gap from. the porsche 100% changed lanes aggressively causing the crash, if that porsche doesnt change lanes the crash doesnt happen. simple
@@igamehard8860 There is no such thing as "blocked too late" unless Porsche erratically caused collision between itself and the attacking car. Don't comment on motorsport when you don't even know what you're trying to say.
@@YourFavouriteDraugr no such thing as block to late.. stopped reading after that nonsense
The fact people are defending Cadillac is insane. The Porsche used traffic to its advantage and the Cadillac just needed to literally wait a couple seconds later. I feel super bad for WRT, but at least Porsche won the race.
All neel did from what I see is make his one move to defend his line which is perfectly ok. Bamber was simply closing too fast and misjudged the opening.
Yep. The JOTA PORSCHE #6 won this race dominantly.
@@Giratina575 the second incident like this for cadillac, a similar incident occurred at sebring, i wonder if the car has a blind spot or something, or these guys are just impatient xd
if it did it'd be behind a gt3 car
@DanishWistara Uh no, a hyper car Cadillac would perfectly be able to pass the BMW just fine especially on the straight if he was patient. Even if he did get stuck behind him, that would be better than ending your race and someone else’s.
Naughty fade from the Porsche!!
I saw this live I'm glad everyone is ok
Thanks This The Great Car Race Channel & Video !
Hello From Finland & My Car Channel ! #Retired4You
Bamber is a liablity. That gap was always going to close and the BMW was obviously there. Hopefully, Cadillac will drop him in favour of someone who's less reckless.
Yikes that was BIG, glad all the drivers walked away.
Man, I was only curious about endurance racing
Then bam, I see this crash pop up o.o, luckily no one got severely injured
Bambi's ram/crash collection is getting impressive.
Dang fwiw that Cadillac has a perfect record of keeping its driver safe after horror crashes
Been there today and saw the crash, was a really hard one. Luckily everyone is ok.
You have to pick your moments to pass on endurance racing
very scary crash
glad to see drivers walked out ok, at least physically
Wtf Bamber? This is Cadillac's best result so far and he threw it away by being so reckless. There is more than an hour left in the race. Why take such a risk?
Nice position save by Porsche.
Cool
It just goes to show you the incredible work these teams put into the Safety of todays preformance motorsports, Motor racing has come such a long way
No thank the FIA and WEC who set out the rules and regs concerning safety. The teams have to meet those requirements or they don't race. For all the crap the FIA gets, they do an amazing job on safety. In this case the FIA delegates will inspect the cars for how well the survival cells coped and a report sent back to the FIA safety committee. I can tell you from a couple of decades of experience in and then out of the cockpit that the cost, complexity and weight of the safety systems is not something the manufacturers' engineers include out of the goodness of their hearts, they do it because they have to
Earl took the Senna quote about the gap too seriously. He was never going to make that pass. Glad everyone involved is ok
A learning experience.
I'll always love the hustle that the hypercar drivers give when overtaking but man it must be terrifying if you're in a GT car and see two battling hypercars approaching.
Sad for WRT
good that everyone was ok.
Holy crap
Damn in WEC and IMSA it’s been a tough year for Caddy other than Long Beach.
Glad everybody is OK 🫡👌🏼💪🏼
Oh Sweet Jesus that was scary.
Stunned that Bamber didnt go Barrell rolling. Glad everyones okay.
Absolutely disgusting move from the Cadillac driver, does he not have eyeballs????
1:24
Glad I see no marshals standing around here.
Hope they and any spectators are fine too, lots of debris flying around.
Agreed is good to be skilled passing traffic but that was pushing the envelope too much. Not enough space at that kind of speed to squeeze through. Glad no injuries...
kind of reminds me of pipo derani’s crash at sebring this year
That pink lambo was going crazy fast
The safety cars really hurt the Iron Dames, they were the car to beat. So fast.
jesus christ what a crash. That looked terrifying
Ouch
that is the reason of why blocks are forbidden.
Personally blocks are necessary sometimes
@@lukedanielgalon1596 Blocks are illegal because they cause crashes. If you want to defend, then you have to take the inside earlier and make very clear where you car will be.
It was already dead for the Cadillac , he would either hit the Porsche or BMW cuz of the size of the hypercar.

I swear these hypercar drivers lack patience sometimes 🤦🏾

The hypercar class is about 350mm longer than the LMP1 cars of old, and the same length as a S class or 7 series...
That small error can create massive catastrophic chain
One thing that I used to hate when I was a mechanic in ALMS & GrandAm was when a car in another class wrecked you. Especially when you were leading and they were low down in their class.
VERY fortunate it didn’t flip over, very thankful the driver is okay
Someone needs to make a V.Series R crash compilation because it hasn’t been 2 full years and this car has taken some big hits across the WEC and IMSA

As bad as it was, that was a rookie move from the Cadillac driver.. That was all on him
damn thats scary
I saw it on TV. The blue car was driving way too aggressive when he came up on the pack.
Key of winning something is not had courage, but also a lot of patience
threading the NEEDLE :)
Unfortunate decision. If he’d waited a split second, he could’ve driven straight down the left side of the straight and passed them all safely. He even lifted to avoid hitting the Porsche initially.
It appears that the front car was moving right as the rear car was trying to pass on the right which closed the gap much faster than the rear car was ready for and the BMW was as far right as he could be so he had nowhere to go to avoid it without running off the track. It is awesome that the drivers came out OK.
I love Bamber but this was just ridicilous stupid..stay behind ( ye hard but still archievable ) and wait after thr next turn..now you got 3 whole teams involved. The Risk he took was way to high for that outcome. Not even talking about the dmg and costs about this..
Good thing these cars are very safe.
Holy shit !
oh my god big crash
Unbelievable, rookie mistake from a seasoned driver
A little patience required in these scenarios.
that was an iracing moment
Huge respect to WEC for respecting the fans and the people at the track to stop the time for the red flag!
We were there, very sad.
That should NEVER have happened. The other side of the track had more then enough open space, and he hadn't even passed the BMW when he changed direction in to it.
