Jaguar as the car we knew is dead. They are taking a year off to convert all models to electric cars. This is at a time where the EV mandate is being rolled back. They will find out quickly this is the wrong direction. Say Goodbye to Jaguar now.
Jaguar has no future. The logo and video look like advertisements for cheap cosmetics or apparel, and have no sense of luxury at all. If a new brand were to do this, there would be meaning in this advertisement, but if an existing brand with a long history were to do this, it would lead to the abandonment, disappointment, and boycott of existing customers, and it would seem to be an insult to the predecessors who have built up the brand over the years. I can only see it. Even if Jaguar had continued with internal combustion engines, the result would have been the same.
@@JeeGee114 The 6r4 engine was the only positive thing about it; although Group B was killed off by the WRC, that engine powered the little Metro to many rally titles.
Having owned two '67 E-types through the years, and worked at a Jag restoration shop in Orlando, the coolest thing I can tell you about that car is that it is so beloved that every part you could ever need is available to keep those boys running. And it's a simple, reliable car. It had an inline 6 with twin cams, triple carbs; and it was a hemi! There's a reason Enzo Ferrari called it "the most beautiful car ever made." Designed by Malcolm Sayer, a Series 1 E-type sits in New York's metropolitan museum of art. So, next time you see one of these beautiful "super cars" just know that it doesn't cost anymore to make a beautiful car than an ugly one. But like everything beautiful, from architecture, cars, and women, ...you're going to pay extra. But what are you getting for that "extra?" Life is short. You can't take it with you. All we carry to the grave is our moral character. Strive to leave a good legacy, with an epitaph that encourages others to share in that walk.
You're obviously not gay! All the gay people I know would never connect this ad with anything to do with being gay. It's weirdly not even camp - just a bunch of stupidly dressed defective zombies posing... pointless. But I get it that it's meant to be androgenous, politically avant guard, fashion of some sort. Why Jaguar?
IDK. Could be classic bait and switch opportunity. Everyone's talking about Jaguar now. Grab more publicity by sacking entire marketing department and show awesome car advertising
That has happened to most car brands; where certain manufacturers made a car to a standard of quality, styling, reliability, strength, excellence, they were reduced to being just a badge, made to a price.
@@Jimfrey-g1z I'd say for Euro and U.S. car companies, you're right. The Japanese don't seem to fall in that trap. And, we still struggle with it since.

Copy Nothing, except the “Slave to the Rhythm” music video from like 40 years ago. Which featured a Citroen. Which is a competing car brand. Dumb and Unoriginal.
My dad bought a Jaguar Vanden Plas in about 1989 and had it for several years while putting maybe 3,000 miles a year on it. It was a beautiful car with the Connolly leather and English walnut, and he had no problems with it, which is amazing considering the reputation. We got it up to 120 mph on the highway once and it was very quiet and the independent suspension was amazing. It was a sharp contrast to the modified Chevy that my stepdad took to a much higher speed and was loud as hell and very sketchy.
So Jaguar went and bought a Kervorkian machine , also known as a woke marketing department. Pure 100% Corporate suicide. Faguar had better invest in some BIG empty warehouses to store all the cars they will NOT be selling.

What a terrible marketing decision. No one of the demographic that that commercial will reach will be interested in buying a car that only people over the age of 70 buy.

Jaguar Land Rover is a British brand fully owned by the Indian firm Tata. The CEO of the firm, late Mr Ratan Tata recently passed away. Mr.Tata is of Iranian descent, someone in the Tata-JLR firm decided to do a woke tribute ad to spite Iran. The ad is a political message to Iran, albeit a cryptic one. Remember, the movie Bohemian Rhapsody was also made to spite Iran. It was a political message to Iran, by widely publicising Freddy Mercury's homosexuality, as a person of Iranian descent.
