I think Agora deserves its own video. The only market that wasn’t seized and didn’t exit scam. They just closed on their own one day and paid everybody back who had money on the site.
I’ve always found it hypocritical that when cops seize a lot of cash from someone, whether they got it by selling drugs, guns or stole it, that they eventually use it to pay themselves. They should use it to pay for things for the city they’re in, like toll roads, fixing pot holes and other stuff like that, etc.
While I'm not a fan of police, we unfortunately DO need to have some form of law enforcement. The problem is with corruption... just like with most things. I highly disagree with civil forfeiture, i believe that it is theft, no matter what the situation. I also don't believe the police need less funding, but more of it, as well as more training. And instead of whining like absolute idiots over identity politics and who's the biggest victim. If the focus was on fixing the corruption and adjusting certain laws.... OR since justice is supposed to be blind. Maybe if everything wasn't about money in the court system. I mean, if you're rich and purposely do bad sh7t you get away with anything. You're poor and make one mistake, you lose everything. Like i said though. There's corruption. But looking at the situation like kindergarteners is not going to solve it. Admit we need cops, just not the BS we have now. Realistically what can be changed?
I am forty four years old and I have have let’s say 100 encounters with law enforcement. Of those one hundred. Two or three were helpful and positive. And even those two were the littlest bit of help along with some passive aggressive bullshit. I recently had an interaction where I was involved in an accident. My car only. Some damage nothing major. I was not allowed to have my car back. The local pig and his tow truck buddy made a couple bucks off me. This is only one example of the extortions I’ve been subjected to. All in all to the pigs and the court i as an individual have paid into the subsystem to the time of some fixity thousand dollars and have never committed a violent crime or theft. I sat in a cage for some plants 🪴. Some fucking plants. The priority for them is to stay alive and make money. That’s why gangs who run coke and heroin are left be while weedheads sit and pay. No one that I met in prison was violent. All poor people just trying to make it work. One bad cops beating down a citizen with nine good cops watching means you have ten bad cops.
I don’t mind if cops get a bonus for busting crooks. It’s an especially dangerous job, and spreading a portion of the funds recovered to local law enforcement doesn’t sound that bad. We pay politicians much more for doing much less.
@@WJGSix that's why like i said, we do need something there as far as law enforcement. There are certain things which could stand to change, definitely, there is a lot of corruption and the way they treat "upper class" differently from the poor. There's just things that do need to change. But we do need people who respond to dangerous situations and... serve and protect. They are supposed to work FOR US, not harass us. Most of all what gets to me is civil forfeiture. They can be especially greedy and corrupt with that, and they absolutely do abuse the crap out of this. I have seen it. We're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, and if they can't prove that belonging or property are somehow related to a crime. They should not be able to just assume and *STEAL* it away from people. There's no excuses for that. It is stealing, it is theft, and nothing justifies it.
The guy who made the famous "THIS SITE HAS BEEN SEIZED" graphic went to my (former) college and came back and gave a talk about them taking down DPR and Silk Road. He worked for the U.S. Attorney's Office and told just the coolest story about cyber sec and being on the front lines, but how after all of it he thought it was funny that a graphic he threw together in photoshop in a night seemed to be the visual most remembered. The polite gentlemen ending his career as a shadow operator of one of the most crowded dark places on the deep web in a retirement open letter at the end... priceless. Not sus at all. Because that's what the digital mob do, you know... being bright and polite
ngl, I'd just be stupid bright and polite if I ran anything on the dark web. The juxtaposition amuses me. "Welcome to Granny Oakley's Drugs&Guns. Have a strawberry bon bon."
I would say the retirement letter was legit. Dream market did close down and it did let everyone withdraw their coin. Plus there was heavy DDOS due to a flaw in TOR, making it very difficult to access the site. This DDOS flaw exists to this day in TOR. most market admins will just exit scam - taking everyones funds and running before they get caught out. Dream market was the only big market in history to honorably close. They gave everyone 31 days to withdraw all their coin, halting all deposits - and then closed down. So nobody lost any coin. Other markets either exit scam or get shut down by the authorities. That said Dream market itself wasn't great as they gave FE (non escrow) far too easily. That meant there were a lot of scam vendors on it. Empire Market was much better in that regard, only the biggest vendors got finalize early - the small vendors had to use the escrow system, which meant there were hardly any scam vendors on it. I've mostly moved to direct deal with trusted vendors these days.
@@JS-oh2dp You should be encrypting your addy with your vendors key anyway. (NOT using the markets built in tool). Even if a market is compromised, they can't get your addy unless they take the vendors key which the market has no access to. They would have to bust your actual vendor and then hope he gives you the password.
The unsettling/scary ambient beat drop after the big reveal of what Dream marketplace REALLY is/who Dream is REALLY run by… that was just immaculate directing & editing. Bravo to you and your team, Barely Sociable. Great video all the way thru.

Wow!! My son turned me on to your channel and I am continually amazed at your content … the things I learn. Thank you. As an aside, as a research scientist evaluating domain-specific CS PhD research education programs, this information was relevant. Sadly, it is not uncommon for academic findings and government reports to misalign (and many other reports for that matter) . THAT is the single reason I got into this field. It also disturbs me that even though our taxes pay for government funded high level CS research (CMU, Berkeley, Cornell, etc), there are unfair institutional/government practices that prevent free access to publicly-funded research. ….. me on my soap box.
It should be illegal, and it probably is because that sounds like constitutional infringement; it's basically taxation without representation. If the government has "institutional" ways to block things like this, that means they're obviously doing things they shouldn't be doing. It's stealing from taxpayers.
“In today’s video me and my friends try to speedrun taking over the dark web while hackers try to stop us. If they manage to stop us, i have to do a face reveal. If we manage to take it over, they have to do a face reveal. This is Minecraft Infiltration”

If you don't exit scam, and you don't get caught, the alternative is just a voluntary shutdown because running a darknet market is an ongoing gamble - you can't run it forever. Exit scams make more sense when a site is ran by a single person, and you're only accountable to yourself.
@@DemoRageTV With the ongoing TOR ddos, I think the admins of Empire just got sick of running the site. It required too much attention from the admins, I think they also realized they were the biggest market and so would have LE's utmost attention. But I think most exit scams are the result of things going on behind the scenes, didn't someone hack Darkmarket and redirect all deposits to their own wallet? And then the admins decided it was better to just cut their losses and exit scam. Same with Empire, the rumour was one of the admins decided to steal crypto and run, after getting sick of doing all the work. If you are getting comission of say $10,000 a month running the site, and you can steal $200,000 by performing an exit scam, it might just be worth your while. I think another market had a massive problem with the database or the wallet, they lost access to it. Knowing they had permanently lost everyones balance, all you can do is run.
Imagine how the world would be like if the authorities had the same vigour and efficiency when it comes to cp on the dark web... hopefully they'll figure out a way to tackle that too
You see the problem is, CP doesn't lead to them losing money while these markets do Its clear to see where their priorities are, and its disgusting! I agree with you and wish they gave cp the same treatment as silk road
instead they waste their time infringing human rights with tyrannical anti drug laws. The bastards obviously only care about the fact that the money made off drugs is untaxed so they can't steal it. All drugs should be legalised, the IRS should be outed for the public enemy that it always was
Hahahah yeah it's not like the government officials are totally in the human trafficking problem itself hahaha why would world government leaders do that hahaha it's not like it'd be a multi billion dollar enterprise and totally out of the realm of reality hahaha it's not like government officials have throughout history been involved in child trafficking hahahha that would be nuts!!!!!

They should use it to pay for things for the city they’re in, like toll roads, fixing pot holes and other stuff like that, etc.
ACAB
You know someone did a good job when a subject that never interested you, is actually the reason you’re still awake listening to this. Magnificent.

Preach, brother!
The human condition supersedes all collectives.

If you don't exit scam, and you don't get caught, the alternative is just a voluntary shutdown because running a darknet market is an ongoing gamble - you can't run it forever. Exit scams make more sense when a site is ran by a single person, and you're only accountable to yourself.
What are you talking about ignorant fool?
Exit scam only makes sense if you don't understand simple truths about reality.
@@DemoRageTV da fuck u on abt
Imagine how the world would be like if the authorities had the same vigour and efficiency when it comes to cp on the dark web... hopefully they'll figure out a way to tackle that too
You see the problem is, CP doesn't lead to them losing money while these markets do
Its clear to see where their priorities are, and its disgusting! I agree with you and wish they gave cp the same treatment as silk road
