I really appreciate how you did the voice over to explain the strategy behind everything. it makes it so much easier for a newbie to follow along, because even though I was there to experience it all, some aspects still confused me haha thank you for joining me in this twitch rivals. your game experience and patience with teaching three casual players led us to an amazing second place finish. I never knew anything about speed running in stardew valley despite loving the game so much, so this experience with you really opened my eyes to a whole different world. I’m so happy you were on our team and so thankful again for your patience. I’m proud of myself, sayu, and alicia for being able to adapt and learn from you so quickly. thank you again for sharing your knowledge!!
You did a brilliant job of leading. I had the route, but you did a great job of taking that route and disseminating the information to Sayu and Alicia individually when needed. It really helped keeping us all level headed and not panicked.
"Three people who have no idea who the hell Blade is and Blade" is the funniest dynamic team ever. The three Americans occasionally requiring Kiwi to USian translation, the random cuts from a NZ dude to Vtuber anime avatars, all the girls becoming mind blown by the Stardew predictor, Blade revealing that he peels apart the code of the game like a goddamn tangerine, his three teammates finally coming to the realisation of "holy shit THIS is the guy???", and all the while Blade's wearing Geordi from Star Trek's visor for a reason that only God and Blade are privy to.
The visor is from BlaDe’s BlaDe cosplay. He 3D printed the visors that his in game character usually wears. The reason why he’s wearing them is because they’re cool, I think. But the vibes are immaculate.
What I loved about watching it live was seeing the team go from "who's this blade guy" to "let's defer to blade on almost all matters" Especially after learning he's the guy behind the predictor and one of the most prevalent code divers

And that goes for all four players on the team - it was really sweet seeing all the small talk and downtime of like, "oh, THAT'S who you are?!" haha
fr! I guess I'd take it as a compliment, but it's actually kinda scuffed that they'd let someone who's competing have any input on the rules. Someone as competent as Haboo shouldn't feel the need to put his thumb on the scale at all tbh. A lot of people didn't enjoy the official commentators because they didn't seem to know enough about Stardew to meaningfully talk about what the teams were doing - I really think that'd be the perfect role for Haboo next time, and then he could also reasonably have as much say as he'd like in how the competition is designed.
I'm kind of a fan of the two rules he pushed, though I disagree with him having input at all. Clay farming being nuked is a good thing for entertainment value, and same seed removes just a bit of possible advantage in the early game from a lucky trashcan drop
The rules aren't to his advantage though. Same set seed just makes sense for fairness. No legacy RNG hurts hard-core SDV players who would know how to manipulate RNG as well as clay farm.
