THANK YOU ! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This morning, my 2001 Camaro SS (35K miles) failed the required / mandatory yearly Texas vehicle inspection. The front passenger side bulb was burned out, which caused the rear passenger side turn signal to turn on, but not blink. Mechanic wanted $90.00 to start off with claiming that he had to remove the bumper to trouble shoot the issue. Then he was going to bill me another $45.00 per hour till he found the issue. I smelled a rat. I brought my humble car home and went on a search on how to remedy the matter myself. Found this video and followed the instructions and fixed the problem myself within 30 minutes!! I can barely wait till I take the car back to the rat mechanic to tell him it was a simple burned out bulb and that I fixed it myself!!!! Yes, I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's Office on this so called mechanic ( and his auto inspection station), who is probably just a " part changer "and not a real mechanic. Thanks Again!!!
Got part way into the take-out-everything-from-the-bottom-end before I found this video. You made it really easy - I even thought of replacing the other side bulb while I was at it! Thanks for the effort you put in to post this video - it was a world of help!
Thanks for putting this up, Will. just made replacing the bulbs in my 99 Z28 that I just bought real easy. Car had clear corners but also clear bulbs. Wanted to get amber bulbs back in there.
Yoo thanks so much!!! I just ordered some new lenses and was about to return them because they looked like they where the wrong size didn’t know they looked like that from the inside!!! Saved me so much time
I just did a search for this thinking no one would have a video specific to this generation Camaro. But here you are!! This is so helpful since I bought new turn signal assemblies for my 98 Camaro. Oh and my Camaro is white too!! Thanks again for posting this 😃
I just needed to replace the (4) bulbs on my 1998 Camaro ..... (2) side marker, and (2) front parking / turn signal bulbs. Thanks for the vid. UA-cam can be very useful.
Will not tell you how long it took me to do this from the bottom but after much cursing and cuts and bruising plus the lamp holder would not extract due to cheap plastic deformation due to heat I guess, I got it done. Was going to do it from the top but was worried it would put the light out of alignment. Will do it your way next time THANKS Graeme in Australia.
Curious. Did you skip a few things on the video about removing the headlight assembly? Is there more to it then just the one bolt you took out? Trying to get up the courage to do it myself as I want to change out my headlight assembly.
Thanks you helped me alot dude!! Keep it up i jux got my camaro and its my first so im learning how bout a vid of changing spark plugs! It will help alot!
Worked perfect....although the 16 year gap from my 2002 factory build to today caused a little difficult job to to slide out & back in. Otherwise thanks for the video.
Have You Gone Led yet? I'm curious which flasher relays to use their seems to be negative effects for most of them and I want to find one that's actually functional?
Wow, I struggle with this on my GFs '02. Didn't realize the H/L Assy. comes out so easily! Her socket is screwed up and yes, I've had my fingers all over those friggin' bulbs .... and, they burn out!
I'm replacing my turn signal lamps on a 95 z28 and I'm thinking installing underneath would be easier unless just taking off the whole front end but that seems like alot of time wasted for two little lamps
Great instructions on replacement headlights, quick question my 2002 camaro ss front turn signal bulb blew out ..is there anyway to change it without removing headlight. Thanks
Fog light bulbs are easy if you get underneath the car there you'll see there's a little trapdoor and you can just reach under there open and twist it off and pull the bulbs out that one super easy two bolts but there's a few videos on it so check it out on here and give you an easy a reference
98-02 have the same body style so it's the same even with the v6 model or SS, just did this last night it was quick and simple just like in the video however I found out a wire in the signal is cut so It doesn't blink I will have to fix that later
Your video helped me! I'm replacing my turn signal lens because the old one broke in half - so i took it out in two pieces, but now I cant get the new one in, the space is too tight and I can't figure out the correct angle that you got it in! >.
I think the process for the 93-97's is different. Since the whole headlight unit is different, but if one were to go through the under part would it be relatively easy..?
+Brandon Churchill yes. I had to replace them on both lamps. This is a factory defect in the plastic. There is nothing you can do other than replace it
Thanks for the great video! I have to do the same thing for one of my 02 Z28s. Question... do you have to re-center or realign the headlight when you put it back on after you are done?
This did not work for me in my 01 Z28 SS. At 1:12 into the video, where he easily slides the headlamp assembly out, mine would not budge. It is still bolted in with some 2nd bolt in addition to the one he removes. Can you tell me what else I need to unbolt?
I was wrong and this actually worked exactly as you demonstrated, except that I just had to work much harder to slide out the head lamp assembly. I bought the car brand new in Dec 2000. So the thing was really lodged in there after nearly 16 years. Putting it back in was no piece of cake either but I made it! Because of you and your video, I saved a trip to the shop and some money too. Not bad for a 52 year old guy with a desk job. I appreciate the tip about not touching the new bulb. I did not know that. Thanks so much, Will. Camaros rule!
Thanks for having this video up here, even if I'm the last one to see it. I'm sure you saved me hundreds of dollars in labor at a shop for this and a bunch of time since I don't have to wait, find a shop, etc... I really appreciate it!
I went to get it from bottom like another video showed not good went like this video said real easy and quick. Thank you
Saving me time. Thanks Will

thanks, just changed the bulb on my 2000 Camaro with your help.
Thank you so much I was getting frustrated trying to change mine and this helped a lot

dude thanks so much! my blinker bulb has been out for like a week now, video was very helpful
Is that a 3157 and a 194 bulb?
Thanks man. This was a lot of help and a huge time saver on my 2000 SS.
Thanks man I was about to a lot more work then i needed to
LED light much better
Yea, it took me awhile to figure it out but once I did it was a piece of cake. If you need to know anything else let me know!
Curious. Did you skip a few things on the video about removing the headlight assembly? Is there more to it then just the one bolt you took out? Trying to get up the courage to do it myself as I want to change out my headlight assembly.

very useful video had no problem getting it done after seeing this...
Saved us a lot if time thanks
Thanks, Will! Now I can confidently tackle the lens replacement of my left front turn signal on my 1998 Z28 - it's full of water!
I have the 2000 model, I'm hoping this will work! Thanks for the vid!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot, I didn't know if I had to take out my headlight or not. Now i know!
Have You Gone Led yet? I'm curious which flasher relays to use their seems to be negative effects for most of them and I want to find one that's actually functional?
Thanks for posting. Made it easier for me to replace
Thanks a lot Will, I will do it
What size wrench’s for the blinker assembly?
Wow, I struggle with this on my GFs '02. Didn't realize the H/L Assy. comes out so easily! Her socket is screwed up and yes, I've had my fingers all over those friggin' bulbs .... and, they burn out!
Great vid. Passenger side was a pain but smooth sailing after that. Thanks.
Thanks to Will for posting this video - very helpful indeed. 5/4/2014
Thanks for the vid will be getting of work in 5 mins to go home and replace these on my 02 cam
Thanks
How about a video on changing the Lower Fog/Driving Light! :) Thanks Will! I will attempt changing my DRL' bulbs to LED and see how it looks
Fog light bulbs are easy if you get underneath the car there you'll see there's a little trapdoor and you can just reach under there open and twist it off and pull the bulbs out that one super easy two bolts but there's a few videos on it so check it out on here and give you an easy a reference
Thanks for this vid Will, it made replacing my 98 Camaro's left turn signal easy, if you want to see my car look for Camaro on my channel
Where?
98-02 have the same body style so it's the same even with the v6 model or SS, just did this last night it was quick and simple just like in the video however I found out a wire in the signal is cut so It doesn't blink I will have to fix that later
I can not believe it...he is going to take out the head light to do this...????? Then how do you aim it again.?
Your video helped me! I'm replacing my turn signal lens because the old one broke in half - so i took it out in two pieces, but now I cant get the new one in, the space is too tight and I can't figure out the correct angle that you got it in! >.
wish you uploaded a video of how to change the turn signal socket, can't even find that part.
I think the process for the 93-97's is different. Since the whole headlight unit is different, but if one were to go through the under part would it be relatively easy..?
would like to thank you sooo much for this most needed info! I appreciate your time in giving the how too! saves me some money!,
Thanks! This was so helpful. Makes me want to burn my Chilton's Useless Manual! :D
Oh my gosh! Thank you! I can do this myself. Holla!
Thanks Will!
Thank you so much for posting this how-to. I had tried removing from below, and it just didn't work out.
Is there any difference in a z28 2002? For changing the bulb
Thanks for the video!
8:09 lmao hahahahha, IT'S ALWATS THE PREVIOUS OWNER THAT FUCKS IT UP hahahahahaha
Great video Will. Thank you. Did you do a video on connector replacement?
Thanks! All fixed
nothing just slides right out though. Changing this and getting headlights to fit in is a pain in the ass.
I replaced mine about a year ago and have had an issue with the housing melting. Have you had this issue with those housings?
+Brandon Churchill yes. I had to replace them on both lamps. This is a factory defect in the plastic. There is nothing you can do other than replace it
I ended up just going back to the factory ones and tintining with a spray tint.
Mine are melted too! Soooo annoying
Uh oh, I just ordered those housing. Maybe switching to an LED running light/blinker will help bring the heat down.
Thank you soooo much .
Thanks for the great video! I have to do the same thing for one of my 02 Z28s. Question... do you have to re-center or realign the headlight when you put it back on after you are done?

Thanks so much, Will.
Camaros rule!
Anybody know the bulb size of these two. Mainly the larger bulb. I believe the smaller bulb is a 194 but I'm unsure of the larger one.
Charlie Hustle 3157
Does the lamp need to be replaced or are you doing it for aesthetics?
Should this process be the same for a 97 Trans Am?
where do the small bulb go ?
thanks big timesaver, I was planning on attacking this from under the car.
Me to
in my 97 camaro, you need to jack the car up and get the bulb changed from under the car lol
. Do not do the splash guard it is a pain in the ass. I watch this video little too late
Thanks for having this video up here, even if I'm the last one to see it. I'm sure you saved me hundreds of dollars in labor at a shop for this and a bunch of time since I don't have to wait, find a shop, etc... I really appreciate it!
