Much of the reason for me not giving up is knowing that many of the VO talent we see, took AT LEAST a year to get some traction in this. You started just a couple of months ago and are learning everyday. We have to stay in the booth. Even if its only for 30 minutes on those busy days. Stay close to it and the spark will catch. We got this, Robert!

@@_coachcraig_ definitely. That’s a good reminder as well. I’ll have a clearer mind about this once some of the current stresses are minimized. I can’t get rid of them all but I have to keep finding ways to stay recording.

Some well known VO talent took 2 to 4 years to get some serious traction!

@@Shannon_Robbie yeah I’m starting to feel that realization. Haha. Still plugging forward though. Thanks for the comment

Thanks for the share I often look at top preforming profiles when on on any VO website . I hope you find work soon, and at the same time are able to make time to get traction on VO work. I know that this is hard, but the best things in life are. You can do this! Take one breath at a time. Keep bringing the authentic person you are to your reads and you will make progress. I believe in you.

Thanks for the encouragement. Like I mentioned in the video, it’s the reinforcement from the viewers that really help keep me going. I’m pushing through. I have to give this a fair shot.

Keep it up, man! I took a year to learn and just started on Voices last month. In one month, I’ve done 90 auditions and gotten 3 shortlists. I’m greatly encouraged by that! I heard it’s usually around 60-80 auditions per won job. If I get my first job within the next 2 months, I’ll be happy…

That’s awesome! You definitely went about it the right way. Congrats on the short lists! That means, at the very least, your audio and performance is dialed in. Now it’s just a matter having the voice they’re looking for. Make sure you get as many demos up as possible also. It helps get those 100% voice match auditions.

@ yes! I only have 3 demos up…gotta work on that!

I’m glad you appreciate it. It’s definitely different for me to share this kind of thing. But let’s stick together through this. Please drop in from time to time and share what you learn or provide any guidance of your own.

Hey Robert! Love following your journey, it's good to actually document reality rather than the highlights, so appreciate your authenticity. For extra tips on setting up your voices profile, I found this video by Jesse Carroll to be very helpful. ua-cam.com/video/g4Xy5hfDpLY/v-deo.htmlsi=yL5eco1vhiydh9IZ
I'm also part of his free community which I have found to be very encouraging and helpful on the down days. It's lovely to connect to others on their path and at a similar point in the journey 😊
Keep it up mate, you got this. 🎉

Thank you! Yes, that was pretty much the intent, to document the tough times as I learn and grow. I just didn’t anticipate things getting this difficult. I’ve watched a lot of Jesse Carrol and should jump in at some point. I’ll definitely check out that video, though. I don’t believe I’ve seen it yet. Thanks for sharing!
